Ohia "Heavy Favorites" to land top QB Transfer Sayin from Alabama
Before the hiring of Ross Bjork, the Central Ohio Board of Sports Business (my new moniker for OSU) had already been ramping up acquisition of on-field talent via transfer portal and traditional pay for play recruiting. It seems that despite their many humiliations, touted transfers like Quinshon Judkins and Will Howard were attracted to Ohio's professional atmosphere; now they are the "heavy favorite" to land 5* QB transfer Julian Sayin.
What are folks thoughts about this commercial endeavor? I have been sort of preparing myself mentally that they might be purchasing an undefeated year next year with that kind of budget. But with the addition of Bjork to their corporate structure, have the Ohians risked descending into Texas A&M territory of legendary recruitment followed by legendary attrition (by making the most on-the-nose hire of all time)?
Anyway, I'm just glad to be a fan of the best college football team of all time, team 144. They are forever.

Good for them. Stockpiling talent. They’ll be the favorites with Georgia next season. And we’ll still be the 2023 national champs.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:01 PM ^
I think even if our O is Orjicat+, I feel good in C-bus next year too
January 19th, 2024 at 6:29 PM ^
OH SWEET BREATH OF SANITY THANK YOU!
and yeah, I mean...go get the Strouds and the Maseratis, hell, go get the Pryors and Barretts too! With the team we have now, we can beat those guys as well.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:39 PM ^
FWIW I doubt this true freshman will be a factor next season. They'll have Will Howard (a dual threat who is a step down from McCord in most metrics) playing in a BoB offense behind an offensive line that portaled in a center who can't snap or stop Graham + Grant.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:45 PM ^
curious how this will affect Air Noland.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:51 PM ^
Something reminds me of Burrows... will history repeat itself?
January 19th, 2024 at 7:49 PM ^
Oh, he won't go anywhere until he gets his annual bonus.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:46 PM ^
I mean, does it really matter anymore? Hell, he could transfer to ohio and after spring ball transfer to Georgia. Or stay at ohio for a season and then bolt to USC. I doubt he's starting at ohio or Georgia next year.
January 19th, 2024 at 7:07 PM ^
Agree. Totally useless in trying to predict CF anymore with the way things are - especially with the Portal. Perfect example is the way Alabama is being ripped apart.

End thread

Sayin is so over rated, I've watched highlights of him on the news here, he's not that physically imposing.....like at all. He looks like he has to heave the ball with a lot of effort to throw it deep.
Jadyn will be a way better QB, I hope Sayin does go to OSU, he'll be no better than McCord.
January 19th, 2024 at 5:53 PM ^
They still only have one ball to give to one WR and only one QB to play at a time. Ohio State is going to be good they will eventually win against Michigan again.
So what...
15-0 National Champs baby
January 19th, 2024 at 5:53 PM ^
Hell yes.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:52 PM ^
Respectfully, I believe you misspelled something...
Shouldn't it be ... "Hail Yes!"
January 19th, 2024 at 5:56 PM ^
And ~1 guy that can block for them.
January 19th, 2024 at 7:18 PM ^
QBs and Wrs QBs and Wrs QB and Wrs
Stock pile them ALL! And when it all shakes out none will be as good as the ones that got beat by Cade Fucking McNamara. Always return to that thought when distress sets in my MGOBLOG fam.

NCAA: Nothing to see here.
January 19th, 2024 at 7:52 PM ^
NCAA is too busy busting Florida and FSU to pay attention to O$U
January 19th, 2024 at 5:54 PM ^
Only one of those QBs can play, so whatever.
January 19th, 2024 at 5:54 PM ^
The last few years have showed the limits of buying a team of self-interested talent
January 19th, 2024 at 6:15 PM ^
Where did this come from? The reason Michigan won is that they were flat out the better team all 3 years. Better coached. Better players. The fact that so many of them are coming back for 2024 just makes this look incorrect. They want to come back to beat Michigan.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:21 PM ^
It came from Texas A&M & Miami. Its a direct reference to all the money those two schools have been throwing around to recruits only to find their locker rooms have no chemistry, they lose a lot of games, & the hired guns soon transfer.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:33 PM ^
If it worked for Michigan, it should work for them is what they are thinking
January 19th, 2024 at 6:47 PM ^
lol Michigan players came back to win the “Natty” and OSU players are returning to beat Michigan.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:41 PM ^
And where is Quinn Ewers? Only went to OSU to cash in for himself. Played what, one down, before transferring. Not all their well paid players are the ones you are talking about.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:53 PM ^
Lololol...I'm sure they came back for shitty gold pants.
January 19th, 2024 at 7:29 PM ^
To be fair they are much rarer than they once were. Should fetch a pretty penny on Ebay.
January 19th, 2024 at 5:55 PM ^
No matter what happens from here on out Michigan won the National Title outright this year. Didnt pay for 5 star pay for play ‘cruits. None of it. Soak it in fans. Soak it in.
January 19th, 2024 at 5:59 PM ^
That Alabama team that Michigan beat was the most talented team in college football history from a recruiting stars perspective.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:55 PM ^
So - the team ranked about 15th - in terms of roster talent, actually defeated the most talented roster in the history of college football?
It must have been development, scheme, effort, desire, culture, teamwork, and execution. Oh - coaching too!
January 19th, 2024 at 6:02 PM ^
The season would be unbelievable as a fiction. Michigan bucks the new trend of paying for players and maintains some semblance of academic standards for football. Despite that--and likely because of it because the programs that control the NCAA levers can't stand that a moral, honest guy like Harbaugh is winning using that appraoch--the league and conference try to tear Michigan down. The evil scheme backfires, and Harbaugh and company defeat the two programs that most embody all that's wrong with modern CFB on the way to the ultimate glory.

Jimmy accomplished the hardest tasks a coach is tasked with...he kept a group of players to stay together and become a cohesive unit. The oldest roster in college football. I just wish he woukd have recruited better....2025 could be ugly.
January 19th, 2024 at 7:12 PM ^
How many times do we need find guys like Kenneth Grant, Mason Graham, Mike Sainristil, Rod Moore etc before realize that the EXPERTZ miss on a lot of guys?
I'll take our staff's opinion on a kid over these yahoos.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:49 PM ^
Now that you mention it, in addition to the documentary we are all awaiting, I would also like a dramatized version of it by Disney. Well, I guess not Disney since they own ESPN.
January 19th, 2024 at 7:30 PM ^
Is it crazy that we may have won it all at a time that (many) recruits give almost fuck all about winning?
January 19th, 2024 at 10:25 PM ^
I hope people REALLY read your comment and let it sit for a second.
January 19th, 2024 at 5:57 PM ^
If I was Warde, I would write a letter to both the NCAA and the Big Ten demanding a public and crystal clear definition of the rules regarding Portal tampering and NIL inducements.
I would be careful to point out in detail what is blatantly going on at Ohio State and other SEC places, and then demand a definitive statement:
Are you enforcing these rules or are you not?
If you are, you have some work to do. Now.
If you are not, then we are going to play by the same rules as everyone else and don't you dare come after us later for selective punishment.
For the record: what is your actual policy?
January 19th, 2024 at 6:14 PM ^
Ha, Warde writing a demand letter to the NCAA and the Big Ten? Not his strong suit.
He'll sit tight.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:34 PM ^
If you were Warde I’m sure you’d do a whole host of things that’s we’d like, and he will never do.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:51 PM ^
Remember that time OSU asked the CFP is teams were allowed to advance scout in person at CFP games?
That was awesome.
January 19th, 2024 at 7:02 PM ^
If I may add - What is the definition of "Pay for Play" - and policy regarding inducements / incentives prior to signing a Letter of Intent?
I ask this because it looked like Ole Miss signed a JuCo transfer who arrived at his signing ceremony in a Lamborghini. It seems to me that - "someone" provided him with the Lambo before his LOI was inked.
January 19th, 2024 at 7:41 PM ^
Its all pay for play. Almost none of it is NIL. The true NIL (TV money) is the only thing you CANT give the kids. If you dont want to get busted for pay to play here are the rules.
1. Be an SEC team that makes the playoff and finishes with the top 2 classes for years on end. Obviously winning is the reason why they dominate recruiting (Obviously and shut the fuck up Michigan or we will throw a 3rd investigation at you)
2. Be OSU and make public statements on how much pay for play money you need. Obviously winning is the reason why you dominate recruiting (Obviously and shut the fuck up Michigan or we will throw a 3rd investigation at you)
3. Dont dare be anything but #1 or #2 from above.
Florida (dogshit season boom busted)
Tennessee (dogshit season boom busted)
FSU (talk shit get hit -by the NCAA)
UM (Tell your coach to shut his damn mouth)
January 19th, 2024 at 5:58 PM ^
I love it that OSU is spending 10 million plus to get their 5 stars to beat Michigan's low 4 and high 3 stars that have whooped osu 3 straight years.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:00 PM ^
I’m guessing it’s a lot more than 10 million.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:16 PM ^
Yup! It seems to be north of $15,000,000.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:02 PM ^
Meh.
TBH, I'd rather us spend our own 10 million plus to make sure that it doesn't happen.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:16 PM ^
Seconded.
January 19th, 2024 at 6:31 PM ^
I too, would prefer someone to pony up 10 million to prevent this from happening.
January 19th, 2024 at 7:01 PM ^
I think it is more interesting that their recruiting and portal efforts continue to reflect that Day just doesn't get it. Light in the trenches, top end WR's, a top end QB, and top end CB's. He's STILL building his team to win pass happy playoff games in domes/good weather like it's 2019...even after the last 3 years of getting whupped in the trenches.
They might get us this year because they are setting themselves up for a peak roster year, but I seriously hope they keep Ryan Day forever.
January 19th, 2024 at 10:27 PM ^
It’s only feeding more billboard material for the program. Keep spending , idiots.
