New Controversy - Michigan is a good football
OSU, rivals, the media and the NCAA are running out of dirt, conspiracies and excuses for why Michigan keeps winning.
Here’s something they can choke on and try to turn into an allegation or scandal….
Michigan is, and has been really good at football over the past 3 years. All grading, analysis, all 22, S&P, etc show this. The increase in players drafted and their productivity in the NFL also highlights this fact.
Sometimes, the answer is right in front of you…
They are a really good football team with a great football coach and staff. Hoping they close it out this year in dominant fashion and reach elite status.
PS…Fuck you ESPN, pettite, OsU, born on 3rd, B1G, thamel

It's true. I wish more of the media would recognize that fact, but CFB insiders who don't have an axe to grind (and even some who do) all know that this a truly great team.
January 1st, 2024 at 2:49 PM ^
Goes to show you the shadow operative approach ESPN takes to try and smear anyone that isn't an SEC team.
Thamel not wanting to come out during the Gameday show at The Game because he was a coward and scared to face our fanbase was peak yellow belly chickenshit behavior personified that I've come to expect from these hacks

I love the conversation that Joel Klatt and Colin Cowherd had a while back. This team (especially Harbaugh) is pissing off the people within the establishment whose names we don’t know.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:19 PM ^
Not to get too political here, but ESPN is no different than FOX News and CNN; they push an agenda. ESPN' agenda is to help the SEC by doing as much "smear" job at anyone outside of the SEC that is a threat to them.

Michigan needs to prove it though on the big stage. I have no issue at all with people being skeptical until they do.
January 1st, 2024 at 2:59 PM ^
IMO, the vast majority of folks who are still skeptical are going to feel that way unless Michigan wins it all. Ignoring the Big stages of the PSU and OSU games. And next year will give us plenty more chances on a big stage. Anyway, just watch, a win today, and the goalposts get moved to "They only beat a weak Alabama team."
January 1st, 2024 at 3:03 PM ^
I don’t think so.
If Michigan beats Bama in the Rose Bowl they will have overtaken the ass.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:08 PM ^
People should be skeptical until M wins if all. Plenty of other teams have done so. There’s one every year. Winning a single national title wouldn’t even be that big of a deal, in the grand scheme of things. But it would finally place M among the “legit” contenders in public awareness.
That said, upon victory today the goalposts will move as you’ve described and that is some steamy, grade-A bullshit.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:00 PM ^
Osu games, at Happy Valley, B1G championship games are not the big stage?
January 1st, 2024 at 3:04 PM ^
Compared to the CFP?
No they aren’t.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:11 PM ^
They aren’t when the goal posts get moved constantly. You ever notice how Harbaugh’s “records in or against* (name whatever they want to pick on negatively) are always ready to go at a moments notice? It was Ohio St and Bigten Championships, now it’s his bowl record. When is the last time you’ve heard any network talk about James Franklin and his inability to win big games?
January 1st, 2024 at 3:14 PM ^
That's because we all focus on his sketching ability first
January 1st, 2024 at 3:18 PM ^
Michigan has lost 6 consecutive bowl games and lost both CFB games, one of which they were heavily favored. It is not particularly difficult to frame a narrative out of that.
January 1st, 2024 at 4:52 PM ^
It’s not just that one, the bottom line had one earlier now Michigan was only one of three teams to make the CFP three times and not win a game. The Texas one was how they were the first five loss team the previous season to make the CFP. See the difference? Both true, but why is necessary to constantly take shots at Michigan?
January 1st, 2024 at 3:28 PM ^
I mean, I hear about Franklin not winning big games pretty frequently since he never wins big games
January 1st, 2024 at 4:41 PM ^
Nah, it doesn't matter if they win it all. Haters still diss the '97 team because of the "shared" title. This is what jealousy creates.

Controversial take: Jim Harbaugh is also a good football
January 1st, 2024 at 4:00 PM ^
Another controversial take. There are a lot of good footballs associated with this team.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:06 PM ^
I could not agree with you or this more. The slappy hippocrits in the media have been incredibly stupid, annoying and pathetic throughout this amazing season. Very well said sir.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:07 PM ^
I suggest that we are a GREAT football
January 1st, 2024 at 3:07 PM ^
This type of team is exactly what many have feared since Harbaugh came back. They knew he was an elite coach and that’s why he’s been screwed at every turn and the talking heads constantly take jabs. He was their threat to the SEC empire, which is also ESPN’s meal ticket. Harbaugh added some more haters this year due to his push for players rights and tv revenues.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:11 PM ^
Quite true. Especially the last point.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:09 PM ^
Haha yeah fuck those guys
January 1st, 2024 at 3:11 PM ^
It’s lonely at the top! Michigan winning out is almost MUST wins. That will finally silence the media. Go Blue
January 1st, 2024 at 3:11 PM ^
Very few media does deep dives into SP+
they look at the national champions. In the last 10 years:
B1G won one
ACC won 3
SEC won 6
Michigan is good at football, but most media pick the SEC as the best conference because they have won those national championships.
In order for the B1G at large and Michigan specifically to change that narrative, they need to win the national championship. Its unfortunate, but that is the reality of perception
January 1st, 2024 at 3:14 PM ^
A select few SEC programs won those championships. Not the conference. And, IMO, so many years getting two SEC teams in due to the rankings circle jerk and only 8 conference games has helped those numbers.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:17 PM ^
Sure, but the B1G is only a select few teams too. OSU, Michigan and PSU.
Every conference is built that way.
Michigan can write their own narrative today by winning
January 1st, 2024 at 3:14 PM ^
Beat Bama is the way to shut more people up. Win it all and additional people will be shut up. There is a group of people that will brand this team tainted and not accept M as an elite program. To those people I say suck it..
January 1st, 2024 at 3:30 PM ^
It just goes to show that negativity and drama is what gets the most eyeballs / clicks. This Michigan football team is full of GREAT leaders and people, from the coaches, to the staff, right through to the players. You could pick any one of them and do a great human-interest story, but those have been few and far between. Instead we get all this BS, just to drive clicks and views.
It sucks, and get off my lawn.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:39 PM ^
Sometimes when I watch Charlie Brown, I wish that Lucy was a football, so he would put a shoe in her in her ugly ass face.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:57 PM ^
Calling someone a "good football" is kinda like saying they're a "good egg." Similar shape anyway.
January 1st, 2024 at 3:59 PM ^
These pundits are obviously not familiar with how Michigan plays ball. We are not an explosive team you morons. Death by 1000 cuts.
January 1st, 2024 at 4:21 PM ^
We are not explosive until we are. Pounding it excessively against Bama is not going to get it done. JJ needs just enough time to connect downfield a few times before things will loosen up at the line. After all that, it will still be a dogfight. Go Blue!
January 1st, 2024 at 4:08 PM ^
your point?
January 1st, 2024 at 6:50 PM ^
Michigan is a good football.
