OSU 5* OT Target Jordan Seaton Commits...To Colorado
Another bad Day in Columbus...Coach Third Base might need a downgrade to Second or First.
#1 OT in the 2024 class.

so he'll be a portal target for '25?
December 7th, 2023 at 11:36 AM ^
We’ll grab him in year 2 after CO pays his signing bonus.

Does Prime even know how to develop players?
December 7th, 2023 at 2:00 PM ^
Not O Linemen apparently
December 7th, 2023 at 9:55 PM ^
Where are the two CB's we were recruiting? Lets see if they're having a change of heart.
December 7th, 2023 at 11:28 AM ^
Did he call himself the savior in that tweet? Weird
December 7th, 2023 at 11:30 AM ^
Did you see the state of Colorado's offensive line? As far as Shedeur Sanders is concerned, this might be true.
December 7th, 2023 at 11:57 AM ^
Exactly. The lines were Colorado's biggest problem. Especially OL.
December 7th, 2023 at 3:47 PM ^
Is the O-line really one of their biggest problems? Shedeur holds the ball f o r e v e r... so naturally he's going to take more sacks. Utah, 4th in the PAC 12 in sacks only had 2 against Colorado the last game... Shedeur didn't play that game. Not saying it's a coincidence, but I don't think their O-line is as big of a problem as Coach Sanders would hope it is.
December 7th, 2023 at 6:19 PM ^
No freshman lineman is going to be saving Shedeur or anyone else
December 7th, 2023 at 8:11 PM ^
I did… which is how I know it’s going to take more than one guy to save that OL (and Shedeur). Color me skeptical a freshman is gonna turn that entire unit around before Shedeur goes pro.
December 7th, 2023 at 11:46 AM ^
He'll fit right in with Deion
December 7th, 2023 at 4:36 PM ^
Yes, those are the guys that Colorado usually attracts
December 7th, 2023 at 10:11 PM ^

Go buy into the hype young man. See you in a year or 2 in the portal
December 7th, 2023 at 11:30 AM ^
He looks like he's 35 years old

Nice pun and a little jab. Can we call that a pun-jab?

OSU was soooo sure he was in the bag.......LOL
December 7th, 2023 at 11:39 AM ^
I saw an 11 Warriors posted that spoke of him committing today as though it were a sure thing.
December 7th, 2023 at 11:59 AM ^
A bunch of people on X also thought it was a foregone conclusion
December 7th, 2023 at 2:30 PM ^
Maybe he saw how fast the rats were jumping off the OSU ship, and figured he'd be better off somewhere else. Smart guy.
December 7th, 2023 at 11:33 AM ^
5 star ++ must mean he's extra good
December 7th, 2023 at 6:18 PM ^
Wouldn't that be a 6 star?
December 7th, 2023 at 11:34 AM ^
I question the fit between Colorado and a guy wearing a frickin' balaclava. Stay in the Sunshine State, son.
December 7th, 2023 at 12:06 PM ^
He'll be in Boulder, winters on the Front Range tend to be kind of...erratic and you get a LOT of sunshine in Colorado.
December 7th, 2023 at 12:10 PM ^
He'll be fine lots of snow bunnies.
December 7th, 2023 at 12:17 PM ^
Ahh, Colorado...the Sunshine State!

I dunno, man, that stuff is TASTY!
December 7th, 2023 at 1:28 PM ^
Where is he actually from? I don't put stock in IMG guys being "from" Florida.
December 7th, 2023 at 11:36 AM ^
Womp womp
I almost feel sorry for them…..almost.
December 7th, 2023 at 11:39 AM ^
Not sure what it would take to make me feel sorry for the Ohio St football program but suffice it to say it would have nothing to do with actual football, recruiting, etc.
December 7th, 2023 at 12:46 PM ^
Answer for me: 9 straight losses to us in 9 successive years. We had to endure 8, and that was terrible, so if they have to endure worse, they'd have my empathy. I had to add the 9 years part because given the new CFP, it could happen in, say, 4 years, which isn't as brutal as a fuckin decade long winless streak.
December 7th, 2023 at 11:36 AM ^
So I guess the fact that Coach Prime Year One worked out at Colorado more or less as well as predicted (4-8, with a "statement" win over TCU except then TCU turned out to be butt) isn't harming his ability to keep pulling in the big name recruits.
December 7th, 2023 at 12:16 PM ^
Before the season people were saying 3ish wins. And he had a lot of competitive games with basically little on defense (lost to Utah, Oregon ST and USC by a TD, Stanford & Arizona by 3) And you can't buy how much marketing he has brought to that school.
And he is still Coach Prime. I give it 3 years and he will be gone but maybe .500 next year and then he does the jump to 8+ wins in year 3 and he gone to a hyuge program down south. Imagine that guy with the resources of A&M or Oklahoma etc.
December 7th, 2023 at 4:07 PM ^
Colorado was in those games despite coach Prime, not because of him. Until he actually learns how to in-game coach, he will continue to lose plenty of games by a touchdown or less. That won’t change no matter how talented his teams are or where he coaches. Against Stanford, his clock management cost them the game and I don’t see that changing if he coaches at A&M or Oklahoma.
December 7th, 2023 at 1:03 PM ^
As long as the recruits value commercial appearances over bowl appearances, yeah.
December 7th, 2023 at 11:39 AM ^
I hope Ohio State gets every 5 start recruit on the planet. I hope they get every top transfer portal in the country. That way, when Michigan destroys them, they are only left with befuddlement and tears.
December 7th, 2023 at 11:41 AM ^
have you seen our recruiting classes? i appreciate the sentiment but be careful what you wish for. we might be in for a couple tough years on talent
December 7th, 2023 at 11:57 AM ^
I think Michigan actually has a pretty solid recruiting strategy down:
Bring in large numbers of guys in the 200-500 range.
Find guys who have been humbled and/or who want to win in the portal.
Unless Michigan is willing to pay big up front, they just aren't going to bring in large numbers of guys in the top 100 right out of high school outside of players with connections to the University and/or program.
December 7th, 2023 at 12:13 PM ^
This would be a perfect plan aside the admissions issues.
We are limited to grad transfers and freshman willing up to pretty much lose their entire year of credits. If we could target sophomores and juniors readily this would be a fine way to do things.
December 7th, 2023 at 6:57 PM ^
I think that still allows you to grab enough high quality guys.
December 7th, 2023 at 12:31 PM ^
Yes. They are the same as the ones that have won three Big Ten titles in a row.

I've gotten to the point where I really don't care at all about rankings as far as UM is concerned. Graham, Grant, Hutch, and Ojabo were all outside the top 100. We seem to always have at least one Day 1 or 2 picks at one position on the line - I think UM has gotten so good at identifying the athletic traits that they desire and teach prospects the technique to overshoot their rankings. Now, if our entire class was full of unranked 2 or 3 stars, as it seemingly was under Don Brown, I'd start getting worried. But it seems UM mostly pulls guys in from the 100-750 range who become 4-5 year players (which I prefer) and then fill in the gaps with great portal players.
I first started reading this blog because of recruiting, it was the only hope to become a better program for a while in the Hoke era. Now it feels like what I imagine the pre-recruiting industry era felt like: I know the big names but the rest I'll find out about after I see them in the spring game or on the field (also by reading the summer recruiting profiles that Brian/Seth produce that seem to offer a much better projection than many recruiting analysts).
