NY6: Liberty vs Oregon… a sacrificial lamb? OSU v Mizzou. Thoughts?

Submitted by Amazinblu on December 3rd, 2023 at 3:13 PM

It appears the NY6 has a matchup between Liberty and Oregon.   I am wondering what the spread in that game will be.

OSU v Mizzou… I think I have my meteor game…. It makes me wonder which Buckeyes will opt out.

Thoughts, perspectives, or comments?

The thing is college football thinks that offends us because its so super serious. Actually no, joke and laugh about it all you want. Hey Reece you realize you make yourself look like a fool right? You cant have it both ways. It cant be a funny joke and the most sinister plot against the sanctity in the history of the sport. Figure it out.

My take is make light of it, joke it up and have fun with it. It is REALLY strange but beating OSU totally made it disappear to me. Somehow our guys winning on the field made this super scandal a shoulder shrug. Ill need someone to explain how a win does that. Strange strange days.

Definitely surprising to me, and IMO Oregon got screwed here.

The SEC has freaking FOUR teams in the NYD6.  Plus, they (arguably, according to some) already got a "gift" with Alabama making the CFP.

Given the SEC already has a couple "wins" as regards the NYD6, have the SEC play the G5 team.  The Pac-12 played the G5 last year (USC vs Tulane), rotate it around.

The polls are juiced for the SEC, their teams are virtually automatically at or near the top of their respective tiers of number of losses, 1-loss, 2-loss, 3-loss, for no other reason than the narrative that "They're just the best conference." Hence, "Well Alabama's 'resume' was that good" despite being soundly beaten at home, playing an FCS team in November (yes I know they always do) and nearly losing to a putrid Auburn team the last game of the regular season. Whether haters in Columbus or East Lansing or elsewhere in the Big Ten want to accept it or not, Michigan has a huge opportunity to put a sizable dent in that narrative on New Year's Day.

If the committee cant put in texas they cant put in bama.

FSU got knocked out of the playoffs because Texas Bama was a package deal and that meant the committee had to say "Welp now Texas is better than FSU"

Dont believe me? Who wouldve been number 4 if Georgia won? The committee already told you last week who they wanted to serve to Georgia on a platter. FSU got knocked out because of a Georgia loss.

Ha!  Ohio State gets stuck in a dull matchup with Missouri, not even a real SEC team.

Bowl games are typically won by the team that actually wants to be there.  OSU will be totally unmotivated.  Marv and his Mercenaries likely won't even play.

Things just keep getting worse in Columbus.

Will many of Oregon's key players sit for the NFL draft?

MHJ will opt out is my guess. He wouldn't aggressively block down field in the Game, nor would he fight for balls against DBs.

I was shocked to see MSU's bowl opponent. They have to play with themself.....again.

Mixed feelings about UGA-FSU. If FSU wins after getting screwed then the committee will look even worse and if they lose it will be "vindication" for leaving them out of playoff. UGA's loss should put them below OSU so I think it should be OSU-FSU and UGA-Oregon with somebody like Missouri or Ole Miss vs. Liberty.
