Greg Schiano is ticked off he has to answer questions about sharing Michigan's signs
About what you would expect from these hypocritical cowards. Greg Schiano refused to answer questions about sharing Michigan's signs with Purdue in his weekly presser. Didn't not deny it. But hilariously, he was outraged he even had to answer questions about it. Essentially played the card he was too busy preparing for Iowa this week to think about it:
“Look, I’m getting ready to go play the 22nd ranked team in the country at their place,” Schiano said, via NJ Advance Media. “They are 12-3 in their last 15 games, they’re 15-1 in the month of November (in the past four seasons). I’m very confident in the way we handle our business. I’m not going to get into specifics about something that is not my issue. This is not my issue. Let the people handle it whose issue it is.”
Then, Schiano dropped the hammer on the whole subject.
“I’m sticking to one thing: Iowa,” Schiano said. “I gave you my feelings on the whole subject. Quite frankly, I’m a little bit ticked off that we have to talk about this. This isn’t our problem.”
But I'm sure he was on that conference call with the commissioner crying like a baby for maximum sentence.

Keep asking him. They made this bed, time to lay in it.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:11 PM ^
Do we know that Schiano was one of the "emotional" people crying about it on the coaches call? I haven't heard that - doesn't mean it wasn't reported, I just never saw that.
The only time I ever saw him comment was his "How did I get dragged into this?" comment from a couple of weeks ago.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:14 PM ^
I hope that a law suite will give us public an opportunity to see those meeting minutes.
November 8th, 2023 at 5:05 PM ^
It will. It's called discovery.
November 8th, 2023 at 7:28 PM ^
I think a penthouse suite will
November 8th, 2023 at 4:29 PM ^
We don't know.
You know how we would know?
If Schiano told us.
He was asked the question. He chose not to answer it.
Interpret that how you wish.
I know what I think.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:36 PM ^
Circumstantial as it is, his reply to the reporter's question and his whiny half time interview during our game should give you an idea if he is an emotional crying type.
November 8th, 2023 at 5:44 PM ^
Again, a couple of weeks ago he said that his half-time interview (something about "some things are not right") was a complaint about the officials, not about Michigan.
November 8th, 2023 at 5:24 PM ^
It's assumed he was one of the cry babies after his strange comments during his halftime interview while playing Michigan.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:12 PM ^
I wish I was a media member, just so I could continually keep asking him variations of this exact question.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:23 PM ^
I can't wait till Ryan Day starts getting pressed on this. It's gonna be like Giuliani but the dye will be dripping off his beard rather than his hair
November 8th, 2023 at 6:25 PM ^
So if you have watched some of his live interactions with the press right now Ryan Day looks uncomfortable. Like someone who knows the shit is about to hit the fan.
If you come for the King and miss…
November 8th, 2023 at 4:25 PM ^
Earlier a week or so ago he said "why am I getting dragged into this."
He is a hypocrite and you're right, keep asking him.
November 8th, 2023 at 7:30 PM ^
I mean he also covered up several child rapes, wouldn’t expect much else from that guy.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:36 PM ^
"They made this bed, time to lay in it."
"I hope that a law suite will give us..."
Come on, guys. We have hired the best law firm we could find. We need to step up and be overly pedantic, blatantly blazoning the Michigan difference. It is time for them to lie in their bed. It is a law suit, not a suite.
Let's step up around here....
/s
Edit: law suit should be one word: lawsuit. Let's mea culpa when necessary. Arrogance should know no bounds. Just trying to lead by example here.
November 8th, 2023 at 7:38 PM ^
Then again A-hioans pronounce bedroom suite as “bedroom suit” SMH
November 8th, 2023 at 4:42 PM ^
Can we flood his email with questions on why he did it, and why he's pointing his finger at Harbaugh from his delusional high ground?
November 8th, 2023 at 5:33 PM ^
What a little bitch.
November 8th, 2023 at 8:13 PM ^
Fucking AMEN
November 8th, 2023 at 4:07 PM ^
Fuck Greg Schiano. Maybe he should have spent more time preparing his team for OSU last week instead of helping to gin up this lynch mob.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:09 PM ^
if what is alleged is true it very much IS your problem now.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:09 PM ^
Remember when he was wondering how he got "dragged into this mess?" Well, this might be part of it you fuckin douchebag.
November 8th, 2023 at 5:19 PM ^
Don't start no shit.....won't be no shit.
Not a difficult concept to grasp.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:10 PM ^
I could swear this was on the board earlier today, but I don't see it.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:12 PM ^
I had posted it in the Signgate thread. Glad to see it up here!
November 8th, 2023 at 4:12 PM ^
I understand the feeling. There seems to be something new that drops every hour.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:10 PM ^
Oh are we tiring of having this be dragged out 24/7?
November 8th, 2023 at 4:10 PM ^
Schiano can go pound sand. Either admit this (the allegations against UM & now Rutgers, Ohio State, & Purdue) is all nothing anyone should be making a big deal out of, or he should self impose an indefinite suspension until an investigation is completed. One or the other Greg.
November 8th, 2023 at 5:50 PM ^
Physiognomically he exhibits all the signs of a chronic masturbator, so sand isn’t the only thing he “pounds” — he is also clearly addicted to attouchemont.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:10 PM ^
I'm actually NOT sure he was - Sam Webb had made it seem earlier that Schiano was sympathetic to Michigan. Purdue almost assuredly was crying (and Illinois is likely to catch some flack for that too if this goes on) and OSU as well. But I was a bit surprised to see Rutgers get thrown.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:17 PM ^
As with Stalions, it being Rutgers doesn't mean it was Schiano or he even knew about it. But, if Harbaugh is accountable, then so is he.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:54 PM ^
You didn't lose institutional control did you Dreggy?
November 8th, 2023 at 5:04 PM ^
But, if Harbaugh is accountable, then so is he.
I still can't believe coaches were dumb enough to want a coach suspended indefinitely for anything a staffer does, whether they knew about it or not.
Like, did you not think about how stupid a precedent that would set? Cause you're not gonna like when the firehose of bullshit turns on you lol
November 8th, 2023 at 7:40 PM ^
Almost all of these coaches will be fired in a few years except Harbaugh so the risk is minimal for them.
If they can remove a guaranteed blowout loss annually it would go a long way in them not getting fired.
November 8th, 2023 at 10:17 PM ^
I think Schiano gets dragged into a lot of this because when the Stalions story first broke people were referencing Schiano half time interview when Rutgers played Michigan. As the Stalions story gained momentum Schiano came out and explained that his comments were regarding officiating not Michigan knowing his plays. I think Big Ten people are beginning to realize that this is a topic better left alone.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:10 PM ^
Chickens coming home to roost.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:13 PM ^
Schiano is such a jerk. Does anyone remember him as coach of the Tampa Bay Bucs? I only remember one game. The Bucs were beaten, and the other team was taking a knee at the end of the game. Actually, I believe they did it twice. Schiano had his team go full tilt at the snap, crashing into and knocking over the O-linemen for the other team. Talk about player safety...
November 8th, 2023 at 9:13 PM ^
It was against the New York Giants.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:13 PM ^
I'll take it as a positive sign that he just doesn't want to talk about this.
I don't know if he was one of the chief complainers on the conference call or not, but silence is an improvement over what we've gotten from most rival coaches.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:24 PM ^
To quote one of the great philosophers of our time:
Me sowing: Haha fuck yeah!!! Yes!!
— The Golden Sir (@screaminbutcalm) March 12, 2019
Me reaping: Well this fucking sucks. What the fuck.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:14 PM ^
To his credit he wasn't talking too much about UM even when the sign stuff came out - he issued that one statement about how he wasn't calling them out for cheating at halftime of their game - but this is part of the deal with getting paid million of dollars to coach in college. Your guys shared info with someone and your AD is likely one of the 13 trying to get UM banned for the season so you gotta answer for it. Maybe go tell your AD to come out and say this is stupid what's happening to UM and maybe that'll help turn the spotlight off you.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:16 PM ^
Neither was Ryan Day. Day and OSU have barely said a peep about it publicly. I am skeptical of all them, especially the ones that worked together at OSU: Ryan Day, Schiano, and Luke Fickell.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:19 PM ^
Day's most recent comment:
November 8th, 2023 at 4:32 PM ^
How can this be credit to Schiano?
He knows they committed something similar or potentially worse. Why would he say anything to bring attention to the matter?
Same with Day. He hasn't said a peep and wanted zero part of discussing SignGate for the same reason as Schiano.
Cowards.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:57 PM ^
Exactly. Day and Schiano should be saying "on the advice of my attorney I am not able to comment."
November 8th, 2023 at 4:14 PM ^
So distractions are distracting? I can't imagine what that must be like. Thoughts and prayers.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:30 PM ^
Yea, fuck you Schiano.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:15 PM ^
Shiano shoulda called Franklin and asked him if Harrison Jr. was worth covering.
November 8th, 2023 at 4:21 PM ^
To be fair, Rutgers did a pretty good job on Harrison, he had like 40 yards the whole, but 2 TDs.
But yeah, all the coaches should catch questions if they're going to be yelling at the commissioner to punish Michigan.
