Says Harbaugh didn’t cheat…

Also says he doesn’t want to be a distraction and will be rooting for the team…
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:49 PM ^
This seems like good news, I would imagine he would say nothing about Harbaugh if that wasn’t true.
And still no movement in Vegas from the “big bad news drop” that supposedly is a game changer for Harbaugh and the program.
I will not believe that there is program destroying information out there until OSU odds to win the B1G improve to -600.
As an emotional hedge to this rollercoaster - I put $100 on OSU at +155 to win the B1G and Georgia to win the CFP at + 240

It's, IMO, incredibly good news. The onus is back on our accusers to prove somebody other than him was involved, which my biased heart believes is not the case.
This and Ono having a pair means Big Ten backs off and let's the NCAA investigation play out, rather than taking the unhinged route they were being encouraged to take.
November 4th, 2023 at 6:28 AM ^
The “what does Vegas know” angle hasn’t gotten enough play here.
There’s that joke that “Vegas always knows” . . . then you realize it is not a joke. If some fucking hack bullshit reporter got an accurate leak that Michigan/Harbaugh was in real trouble, Vegas would absolutely know and odds would demonstrate it.

I am sad for him. He was overzealous but a true fan.
What grinds me is that these asshole millionaires who cheat all the fucking time take a moral high ground and ruin this guy's life. They could have handled this quietly.
Let us go and pound Purdue.

Good life lesson

I still think the regs are so poorly written that it isn’t clear what conduct it intends to prohibit. No legitimate administrative proceeding would find it enforceable.
They specifically say sign stealing is allowed. Only person scouting is the prohibited conduct.
But what does “in person” mean? It’s very reasonable to believe that it only forbids in person scouting by the staff. And it’s absolutely reasonable to make that conclusion since there is other language that does say the whole section applies to staff.
Also, “scouting’ is not defined. In normal usage a scout is a knowledgeable specialist who can observe, analyze, and draw conclusions about an activity, territory, enemy, etc., then report their observations and ideas to whomever sent them. The people involved did not do that and probably were not capable of scouting in its normal sense.
I’ve also read some people claim paying someone to use their phone to record a video and then transmitting it electronically is prohibited. Since pretty much every team does now pay people to record videos and transmit them to the school electronically it’s obviously not prohibited conduct.
The only concern I have is that this is not a legitimate proceeding - it’s the NCAA. I have a bad feeling that they intentionally make the language vague so that they can interpret it any way they want, adjusting the meaning depending on how they feel about the accused.

It'd be a shame if Stalions took that lifetime job offer from Portnoy and just spent all his time filming Ohio State's sidelines -- and posted those videos to YouTube, for free. Maybe call the account "Totally NCAA Legal Third Party Free Scouting Service Available to the Public"
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:58 PM ^
“Third Party Scouting Third Base” as long as Day is there.
November 3rd, 2023 at 11:01 PM ^
He’s a god damn moron and hero all at once.
He had a dream, his delusions embarrassed our program, but at least he will fall on the sword.
OSU been cheating with bags for decades before NIL…we had a loon fan join the staff and look for a loophole / grey area in the rules.
The media’s thirst for clicks and Harbaugh destruction made this a circus.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:37 AM ^
This is my biggest gripe about all of this. How is stealing a few signs a game worse than paying players to come to your school so you can stack all the talent? Having all the talent has way more advantages
November 4th, 2023 at 1:16 AM ^
He didn't just look for a loophole. He went onto CMU's sidelines.
He completely lost his compass.
And nothing he says can be taken at his word. That's what happens when you start lying and cheating. You lose your credibility.
Wish him the very best and a regained healthy perspective.
November 4th, 2023 at 3:21 AM ^
Pretty sure it will come out someday he was invited to the CMU sideline by Jim McIlwane.
MSU probably won't be playing CMU for a while.
November 4th, 2023 at 6:58 AM ^
It only makes sense that Stallons was invited by Mcllwane’s staff as
1. He had the correct coach gear on
2. He had the secure pass that allowed him to be standing with he coaches
3. Mccllwane was a coach for Michigan and was probably familiar with Conner
4. This would be a reason CMU has been a while getting back on identifying him.
5. Conner was getting good at his craft
November 4th, 2023 at 5:44 AM ^
Where did he lie?
November 3rd, 2023 at 11:25 PM ^
I have no doubt Portnoy would employ him to do this.
November 3rd, 2023 at 11:29 PM ^
Portnoy really offered him a lifetime gig to do that? I'm all for it!
November 3rd, 2023 at 11:48 PM ^
The Marine fell on the grenade to save his unit, as we would expect.
November 4th, 2023 at 1:17 AM ^
A grenade he pulled the pin on.
Not like we'd expect.

We have decided Stalions is the bad guy. We arent sure why but the media has still affected us enough to believe this. 100k fans and a national tv audience but this guy is taping the ultra private sidelines. He truly isnt the hero of this story but I think weve let the OSU pushed narrative cloud our judgement on how terrible he actually is.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:29 PM ^
Now dish on all of the other sign stealers.
November 4th, 2023 at 12:10 AM ^
Good idea! It would be great if he happened to pick up information about other teams' sign stealing in the course of his information gathering.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:29 PM ^
Ummmm, thanks Connor. I guess.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:35 PM ^
Considering the current situation, this is a great outcome. He could have gone out with both fingers in the air offering his story to TMZ for $10mm.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:38 PM ^
His story is the truth Jim Harbaugh had NO clue what CS was doing.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:40 PM ^
No(?)
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:44 PM ^
I upvoted you to help you avoid what I believe is a misunderstanding. You were trying to kindly edit a typo so that the previous poster was more clearly on record claiming that "Jim Harbaugh had [no] clue what CS was doing."
(As opposed to the alternative interpretation that you were, perhaps, disagreeing with that statement, which I doubt but an earlier downvoter did not seem to notice)
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:51 PM ^
You’re the here he needs
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:51 PM ^
This is why it's important to say "edit" when you edit boys and girls, especially if there's already been a reply to what you're editing.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:47 PM ^
You missed the point. His story can be whatever he wishes. TMZ doesn’t want to hear the truth.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:49 PM ^
I kinda wondered if they suspended him with pay so he wouldn't burn the place down on his way out.
November 3rd, 2023 at 11:15 PM ^
I’m pretty sure that’s standard for someone suspected of doing something bad but not like, REALLY bad. Probably some legal stuff to avoid as well, shows less presumption of guilt.
November 4th, 2023 at 7:19 AM ^
Well, did he get paid to resign and make this statement as well? Like hush $$?
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:30 PM ^
Fuck the Big Ten. Win the Championship and then break their trophy at the podium.
I'll go to bed now
November 3rd, 2023 at 11:07 PM ^
Win the Championship and then break their trophy at the podium.
Nah, they should just straight walk out like Zeke and the Bad Boys…
November 4th, 2023 at 7:43 AM ^
As much as I'm petty enough to want this, it won't happen. This team is nothing but classy, gracious, and polite. JJ was captured by on field mics saying "thank you" to the OL after a TD. They sing "for he's a jolly good fellow" unironically.
They have and will continue to behave better than the "adults" in this situation.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:30 PM ^
Now everything’s all wrapped up in a neat little package! No really, I mean that. Sorry if it sounded sarcastic.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:30 PM ^
Thank you for putting this to rest young man. Now go put your spy skills to good use in the military.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:55 PM ^
Oh good God no if this is how he conducts a covert operation he's a threat to national security.
November 3rd, 2023 at 11:02 PM ^
His soy skills kinda sucks, but he’s apparently decent at decryption
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:32 PM ^
That's how a man handles his business
November 3rd, 2023 at 11:07 PM ^
thank you. get caught. take the blame. walk away.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:32 PM ^
"To his knowledge?" Either he involved/told other people on staff or he didn't. Seems like it could/should be more definitive on this very important detail.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:38 PM ^
“…through his lawyer”
- said lawyer isn’t going to say anything definitive.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:39 PM ^
It's a statement through a lawyer lol, they're going to make you give yourself wiggle room.
November 3rd, 2023 at 10:40 PM ^
Incorrect…his phrasing directly infers that he never told anyone about his scheme above him, just lower level people involved. Now if they told someone higher up then that’s on them.
