OT MSU/UM Professor on leave after forcing students to buy a subscription to her website
In the category of WTF. MSU/UM professor Amy Wisner forced her Marketing students to buy a $100 / yr subscription to her website "Patriarchy Rebellion Community". The school has placed her on leave while they investigate. All stories online reference her as being at MSU where this was reported out, but wonder if UM has a similar problem.
Her Only Fans?
I'm not signing up for it.
Well...she (forgive possible misgendering) certainly looks to be outwardly channeling the patriarchy.
it's possible to read news about a woman and not comment on how attractive you think she is. promise!
/s...?
I’m not a judge the book by its cover type, but she exudes entitled, elitist, snob energy.
I kind of assume that's what she was going for.
Convenient you left out the leftist libtard adjectives.
Very quickly outnumbering you right wing nut jobs.
If you really want to live in the "good old days", do so, but really do it. Listen to the radio and chase a hoop with a stick for entertainment. Then the rest of us can live in the present in peace.
this is just dumb as fuck with no logical basis
"dumb as fuck"
Maybe that's the problem. Apparently there's a segment of the population which believes good sex is dumb.
Now that, has no logical basis.
How about this pic?
Sheesh, sometimes the people on this site are real assholes.
Look at her there with her kids thinking she's better than me!
She is better than you, fat Bart. A real credit to the patriarchy you are.
Yeah, I realize it’s a lame comment. But it got me to 35,000 points proving that persistence in the pursuit of mediocrity is no vice.
HEY, we just found the MGoBlog account of Brian Ferentz!!!!
Negged to get you below 35,000 for talking about MGoPoints
She scammed her students into subscribing to a $100/yr website and then bragged about how many subscribers she had. But because she posed for a photo with her children, we’re supposed to feel sorry for her?
I wonder if she used the same sperm donor for both kids???
Did you?
Her website advertises "through double-donor IVF".
Why that person needs to advertise that? I don't know.
Because she can't get a man
Maybe she doesn't want to? You're opinion has no place in her bedroom...
Because she can't get a man
My god she took hostages.

Boy is that little guy gonna have some fun.
Sometimes?
So the sequence here is:
Power pose photo of the woman ina power suit is posted for comment.
People pile on.
Tender, caring mom photo is posted as a counterpoint, I guess proving she’s a more palatable, less threatening type of woman?
I think the sequence of comments here is pretty solid evidence of the patriarchy.
She does suck for the subscription move.
I think "Profit?" belongs somewhere in your sequence.
She is a marketing professor.
That she did something unscrupulous set this all up, no doubt.
I think it's what people chose to focus on that was messed up, and that's why I commented. That original picture is a normal professional photo. I think because she's not smiling, is dressed in a suit, and has short hair, people panned it.
Snark and sarcasm are a hallmark of this blog. Look no farther than the founder and his writings and celebratory Muppets.
It's a fandom escape utilizing the freedom of speech still omnipresent. A roller coaster not a Ferris wheel. Some seem mired in BPONE.
Watching people on the blog take down a woman for looking like a professional and not a mom ruins the ‘fandom escape’ for some of us.
The snark variety is markedly different from celebratory muppets. If you think misogynistic snark is a fun escape, that’s a privilege.
You don't watch too many comics I take it?
Do you even know what misogynist means? Where's the hate or despise for women from me? You don't believe in differences in opinion or perspective?
You read through an entire OT thread teasing a Sparty professor here to "ruin" your fandom escape. Lot of effort to catch the bus of being offended. Wow.
I am sure she is just fine and nothing a UM sports blog single thread teases will alter this butterfly.
The privilege you speak of was patriarchally created and is on this patriarchal blog you came to. It is a privilege I don't want to rebel against...but you have your thread searching/critiquing fun.
Just writing this has made me smile.
Those babies are well fed.
That is some low-class stuff.
As if we can expect anything less from those sorts.
How is this really any different than Professors making a textbook they wrote “required reading”?
I suppose it's poor sport to the academics when one fail to at least try to disguise one's grift just a little bit
If you pre-order The Rebellion Book, you get a free Rebel t-shirt, a $34.99 value. Such a deal. That is a real life lesson in Marketing. How many other professors give you a "free" t-shirt for buying a book they have authored for use in their class? Not only do you buy the book, you become a human billboard for it, That's Marketing genius.
I was compelled to be a rebel and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.
I bought one of these. I think I misunderstood the assignment.
I'd say with all the colors in it you may get extra credit. Cause its so pretty, I mean. I'll see myself out.
That's just conscription with a different uniform.
True story, when I was an undergrad (UM Dearborn) we had a math professor who passed away part way through the semester. We all purchased his required book, which the new professor did not use. They sent in a counselor on our first day back after he passed, and one of the first things she said was that we'd be refunded for the book.
It all stuck with me as very odd...
Any chance that it was James Ward Brown, Complex Variables? Great textbook, and even better Professor. I had the pleasure of taking two courses from him.
Exactly this, all that time agonizing in the Coursepack line at Dollar Bill printing.
Crisped in the Diag should know what I'm talking about.
I feel you. I would get to the Union Bookstore as they opened so I could avoid the lines. We didn't have Craigslist/eBay/Amazon where we could get good deals on books. You paid $100, used the book, sold it back for $30 and then they sold it to someone else for $100.
that's if they even bought them back to resell. i mean, the professors have to make there $ by coming out with a new edition of their textbooks every couple years.
I'm still bitter over my freshman physics textbook. Even though it had just come out, it was so filled with errors that they had a second edition out the next year--and I couldn't sell my copy.
(I should add that this was not at Michigan.)
