Will this post make it through the night?

He should leave as a second rounder if that were the case. He can't earn NIL money with his current visa.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:31 PM ^
He should leave because he can’t earn NIL money?
What a pathetic mindset.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:43 PM ^
A lot of players don’t have your “mindset,” in which they should play a dangerous game for no pay in order to entertain you. Most need or want to make money via football. They should be free to do so without disappointing you.
January 1st, 2022 at 12:31 AM ^
Because he shouldn’t do something for free that people are willing to pay him for? Is this really complicated for you to understand?

Name a player that stepped up tonight or made a big play?

Andrel Anthony?

Donovan Edwards. Erick All. Roman Wilson. Our teams was outclassed tonight by superior athletes who are coached well. There is no shame in that. Georgia played with high intensity and focus. Our guys weren't used to the speed of the game they encountered at the outset. Took them nearly a half to get acclimated, by then the game was over.
I mean it was over after the first possession really and our guys were a step behind every play. Blame it on whatever you want, the talent gap was just too great to overcome.

According to 247's Team Talent Composite, UGA is about equally talented to OSU and we didn't have any problem with them. I think there's more to it than that.
January 1st, 2022 at 12:11 AM ^
I think that's the thing with these long breaks prior to the semi final games and a main reason why they are so often blowouts. Give teams 4 weeks to prepare for a single game, and the more talented team will almost always win. You can no longer catch a team off guard with scheme they haven't prepared for. Just a thought.
January 1st, 2022 at 8:00 AM ^
This. Plus the fact Georgia was royally pissed after getting punked by Bama and was out to prove something. That was probably my biggest fear coming into this game and I think that was the case.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:36 PM ^
Pretty spot on. Donovan Edwards reminded me of Mario at the Rose Bowl when USC was stunting on us, but Mario knew he was NFL good. Mario was talking shit, even though we were getting whipped, and I kind of got where he was coming from.

No, he will not

NFL scouts look at the entire body of work.. this game will play very little in his draft stock. As much as we think . They don't go from mid first to 2nd game by game. He's a specialist, and what he's done with how raw he is, is unbelievable. Just think what he's gonna do when it's his full time job

This is true. How he performs at the combine will have a bigger factor on his draft stock than his Orange Bowl performance.
January 1st, 2022 at 9:33 PM ^
They don’t really. Nobody cares how he did against poor OLs or when Michigan was up by a ton of points.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:42 PM ^
Probably not, but we'll find out in a couple months. Literally nothing else to say lol

They will see when he played against NFL type of players, he fell flat
December 31st, 2021 at 11:21 PM ^
Ah yes, because #78 (Petit-Frere) and #79 (Jones) on Ohio State aren't NFL type of players. They're just some random bums. /s

I wondered if Ojabo was even there tonight. Kidding aside, he is still the same talent.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:48 PM ^
See Rashan Gary. NFL teams see UM players and think they can develop them better than UM can often.
With that said, Ojabo has gone from barely contributing to a NFL player in 1 year. So I don't blame them in this case.
January 1st, 2022 at 1:24 AM ^
Nice. You took a shot at the coaching staff, then said it doesn't apply in this case, proving what you said to be irrelevant. Also, what defensive coaches are still around from the Rashan Gary era? Oh, right, none. So your whole post was an irrelevant attack on a coaching staff that no longer exists.
To address the (dumb) point you were making, Gary's issue was that he was having to make up for our gaping interior DL and wasn't free to rush off the edge the way Hutch and Ojabo can. People like Mel Kiper looked at it as bad coaching, but he was doing what the team needed, not what would best showcase his skills.
Also, I think 3-star Chase Winovich, a contemporary of Rashan Gary, developed just fine.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:54 PM ^
Not likely. He's gone regardless.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:55 PM ^
A game like this and this is your take? Get out of here.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:55 PM ^
I'm disappointed about tonight too man, but what a ? post.
December 31st, 2021 at 10:56 PM ^
He gone...
As he should be... even if he falls to the 2nd round, he still gets paid handsomely...
December 31st, 2021 at 10:57 PM ^
How can you blame an edge rusher when your team got beat because their wide outs and backs took two drop throws for 300 yards?
December 31st, 2021 at 11:38 PM ^
That's entirely too reasonable, man
December 31st, 2021 at 11:01 PM ^
5tupid ass post!
December 31st, 2021 at 11:01 PM ^
Here’s an idea: let’s not shit on the players after they lose and after a great season
December 31st, 2021 at 11:01 PM ^
Nah pass rushers are a premium. Ojabo is headed to the NFL and will still be drafted high as long as he tests well.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:29 PM ^
People act like these players aren't the most invested in all of this. A tough loss , tho im disappointed is no where near the disappointment these youngsters feel. They pour their heart out to get this far. We show up on Saturdays and one Friday to watch and some act like one bad game is the end of the world...
December 31st, 2021 at 11:12 PM ^
Did he or Hutchinson even have a chance to make a play today? The ball was getting thrown over them immediately all night. Do you want him to grow 10 inches and bat every ball down? They did a better job game planning against our strength than we did.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:35 PM ^
This game will mean zero in his draft position. the combine will.
December 31st, 2021 at 11:40 PM ^
Ojabo didn't increase his stock, but the NFL looks at potential, and he has a ton of that...more than enough to warrant a first round grade.
The bigger question is whether this game leaves a bad enough taste in his mouth in order for him to want to come back like Hutchinson did...
My thinking is probably not, but after this game, may the door for him to return opens a sliver
December 31st, 2021 at 11:54 PM ^
It would be great to have him back next year, but I don’t see that happening.
This off-season is going to be long because there’s going to be a thousand threads speculating on our QB. Will JJ be the man? Will Cade transfer after spring ball if JJ is getting first team reps? It should be fun.
January 1st, 2022 at 12:31 AM ^
I selfishly hope so…
January 1st, 2022 at 12:59 AM ^
Why is this here?
January 1st, 2022 at 4:07 AM ^
He should come back for another year. I would say this if I was his dad and he played for a different team, and wanted to give him advice. I don’t see how he is a first round pick. He isn’t an impact three down edge player now. They seem to prefer Harrell more on first and second down. Earlier in the year he was hardly playing. I don’t know any edge for us who is ready to go their first year of starting and he is no exception. I think he’s a project as a situational pass rusher in the NFL and I don’t see how Kiper and McShay don’t see this. I’m not trashing the kid he has a ton of potential, just needs one more year.
January 1st, 2022 at 9:27 AM ^
Personally I believe this is his best chance to get paid. Sure he definitely benefitted by having Hutch on the other side. When teams have to put extra resources on Hutch it often cleared the path for him. Not many players wouldn't benefit from more college experience but he could actually take a step back in production next year with no clear leader in the wings to take the pressure off of him. By waiting he could actually hurt his stock. With that said I'd love to have him back on the team but that's for selfish reasons only.
January 2nd, 2022 at 1:53 AM ^
Lol no.. Georgia had a great plan getting the ball out early on rhythm/time and having different protections to help on Ojabo and Hutch. Tough game for sure but I’d be willing to bet he tears up the combine…
January 2nd, 2022 at 2:20 PM ^
I hate it when players leave school prematurely. Staying another year so you can legitimately improve your draft stock is a smart decision, not a bad one. The financial difference as well as the additional chances higher draft picks are afforded by NFL teams is something a lot of people overlook.
That being said, there are certainly players in which this logic does not apply and David Ojabo is probably one of them.
