Some interesting takes on The Game on Big Today
November 30th, 2021 at 9:41 AM ^
You should make a thread about those takes
November 30th, 2021 at 12:00 PM ^
Interesting stat I hadn't heard before: This was the first game since at least 2005 (that's as far back as they looked) that OSU failed to record a single tackle for loss.

The powers that be, please change MgoBlog's format to mirror Eleven Warriors!!!
November 30th, 2021 at 9:52 AM ^
Fuck Eleven Losers.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:56 AM ^
I hate that fucking page, but I like their format.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:56 AM ^
I agree, but their format is way more conducive to higher volume message board conversations!!
November 30th, 2021 at 10:18 AM ^
The best format, IMO, would be one in which threads with the most active conversations stay at the top and those that nobody gives two shits about (pick any of the 1,500 "my random toughts on things" threads posted since Saturday) drop to the bottom. That way actual content (and make no mistake - there is a LOT of very interesting things to discuss in the world of college football right now) would stay visable while the shitposts fade away.
I guess that's why the absolute flood of posts is so frustrating to me. There are events happening right now that I'd love to talk about with you guys and they disapear as quickly as I see them because there being displaced with random thoughts on things posts.
OK rant over. Somebody go make a new post. It's been minutes since we had one.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:20 AM ^
I'm also a big fan of something becoming less relevant over time(say the Ross Suites or RichRod), then coming back to life in the same thread years later. Cool to see the perspectives from years back in the same thread.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:55 AM ^
Agree, and also make it possible for you to find your post in a large thread. You know, very basic message board programming.
November 30th, 2021 at 11:02 AM ^
Preach old man!
(From another old man.)

IMO, the downside of Reddit-style curation, where upvoted posts get prioritized to the top of the pile, is that it becomes a dick measuring contest among the most active board members to get fake internet points.
That in turn tends to lead to divisiveness and tribalism, because inevitably the well-known posters will get challenged by people with different opinions, and people will rally into their camps to upvote the posts they agree with.
That still happens to a lesser extent with MGoPoints, but to a lesser extent than other social media/message board sites. Not saying it's perfect, but there are advantages to it being setup to be less "game-ified".
November 30th, 2021 at 10:09 AM ^
I did learn an interesting stat at 11 Worriers just now.
osu had more penalty yards (66) than rushing yards (64). That's got to be some kind of a Rutger, right? In honor of the buckeyes, I propose THE Penalty/Rushing Yard Rutger.
Congratulations, buckeyes, on your dubious achievement!
November 30th, 2021 at 10:17 AM ^
Let's call it THE Buckeye.
November 30th, 2021 at 11:04 AM ^
I drop "THE buckeye" in the American Standard, every morning after a cup of coffee, before a shower.
November 30th, 2021 at 11:37 AM ^
I know this sucks, but for a little while can we possibly call it a,”SUCKEYE?” I know, I know.
December 1st, 2021 at 7:20 PM ^
osu had more penalty yards (66) than rushing yards (64)
If they called holding the way they should have, OSU would have had more penalty yards than Haskins rushing yards.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:34 AM ^
I emailed Brian years ago saying please make it like "slickdeals." Eleven Warriors is good too. This message board format sucks.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:41 AM ^
I'm on a lot of message boards and this one has the worst format by far. I'd be willing to put in a few bucks so somebody can redesign it.
November 30th, 2021 at 11:28 AM ^
I don't think they care about the message board. They have said repeatedly that a majority of their revenue comes from people reading their content, not from the message board.
November 30th, 2021 at 12:02 PM ^
That may be true but I would spend more time here if there was a better message board.
November 30th, 2021 at 3:34 PM ^
I thought for sure it was the annoying pop ads at the bottom of the page.
November 30th, 2021 at 9:54 AM ^
I can't stop them guys, I've tried but I've failed you. I've tried mocking, needling, admonishing but nothing works. There's too many of them and they all want to create a thread!
November 30th, 2021 at 10:15 AM ^
Well you always have that lemon situation in Wichita to fall back on. Have fun.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:15 AM ^
You can't stop mass intoxication/hysteria. I prefer this to rant after rant from previous OSU games. I'm still wrapping my head around playing 3 more games. See everyone in Indy!
November 30th, 2021 at 10:20 AM ^
It's glorious! I want to create a thread celebrating all the celebration threads and diaries. But I won't...
November 30th, 2021 at 10:37 AM ^
Eh let em enjoy it. They've waited a long time for this celebration.
It'll go back to normal soon enough.
December 1st, 2021 at 7:23 PM ^
Exactly. They are happy and a little delirious.
We waited a long time to be in this position.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:45 AM ^
MGO - why can't you stop the:
HOMEANDBUNDLECREATEATHREADATHON!

"7.2 yards and a cloud of dust" :-)
November 30th, 2021 at 10:05 AM ^
I don't have enough points to start a thread but I really enjoyed this strategy discussion on the game from PFF. Starts at 28:21.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:05 AM ^
Love the way Auerbach says that it was a dominating win and 'it's not a fluke. It's not a fourth down spot. . ." Oh my.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:16 AM ^
Shots fired!
love how the narrative is changing. Mr. Day sir this is why you don’t talk a bunch of shit.
November 30th, 2021 at 11:22 AM ^
The only fluke about this game was OSU keeping it within 20. Winning the turnover battle, the uncharacteristic pick from Cade, converting so many circus catches on 3rd and 4th down. They easily could've lost by 20-30
November 30th, 2021 at 11:25 AM ^
I mean really, that’s just the truth.
This game was pretty much the mirror image of the 2015 game, except that the losing team’s QB didn’t get knocked out of the game in the second half (allowing them to keep the final score closer).
November 30th, 2021 at 10:06 AM ^
Howard was right. Anyone who saw the Oregon game could see it. Oregon came in and popped them in the mouth and they never really recovered.
Al Borges was great last week in breaking down the defense on Sam Webb's show. He said they just simplified their defense. They improved, but it was predictable. He called for the Michigan offense to have a good day.
I'd be interested to see if Day or his assistants on D can make the adjustments in a year to toughen them up.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:15 AM ^
Al Borges, Defensive Coordinator, thee osu.
Book it.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:18 AM ^
This is what happens when you don’t have the playbooks from your rivals D obtained by the 2 turncoats on you’re staff
November 30th, 2021 at 10:38 AM ^
I saw this on B1G yesterday.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:39 AM ^
Watched this live last night. I was highly entertained to say the least. You're soft Buckeyes! If your WR's weren't so awesome, this would have a big big blowout.
November 30th, 2021 at 10:43 AM ^
I like those 2. Watched it yesterday
November 30th, 2021 at 10:57 AM ^
Not sure if the emotional come-down is affecting the board; otherwise, I don't get some of the negativity today. I thought the convo was interesting, and it's a service to point it out to those who didn't see it.
Life is too short, and we're all better joining together---call it Kumbaya if you want, but it's more beautiful to jhold hands, acknowledge our brothers and sisters and unite in our common humanity and cause---hating all things Ohio State.
November 30th, 2021 at 11:06 AM ^
We should have a camping trip together to forge this new-found sharing and openness!
November 30th, 2021 at 3:36 PM ^
I listened to MGoBlog's most recent, very professional, podcast, and I don't remember them listing all the offensive linemen like she said they did. I guess I just completely missed it somehow?
November 30th, 2021 at 6:04 PM ^
They did list everyone on Split Zone Duo, though. OP seems to be off on this one.
November 30th, 2021 at 5:57 PM ^
