Got Branden too! Great choice young man
October 16th, 2020 at 12:08 PM ^
Great pick up, now we need to finish the FSU poaching with Cooper.
October 16th, 2020 at 1:27 PM ^
Thank you FSU grease-fire.
October 16th, 2020 at 12:12 PM ^
Excellent pickup! Huge positive momentum for the 2021 class!
October 16th, 2020 at 12:14 PM ^
GOOD NEWS EVERYONE
October 16th, 2020 at 12:25 PM ^
Saweet! Thanks Dr. Farnsworth!
October 16th, 2020 at 12:17 PM ^
Between Willie Allen and Branden Jennings, I don't know how to process all this positive Michigan news lately.
Also, this would have been good in the OP:
"Branden Jennings, LB, 6-3, 225, Sandalwood (FL), former FSU commit and Rivals-Top 100, 247 composite ranked No. 82 nationally, No. 6 OLB and No. 13 in FL has committed to Michigan Class of 2021"
October 16th, 2020 at 12:19 PM ^
outstanding! UM has had some great LBs, but I cannot recall when 'all three' rivaled the talent OSU and PSU seems to perpetually put on the field... a faster, smarter and more skilled LB corp can go a long way in buffering some weaknesses in front of or behind the LBs
October 16th, 2020 at 12:23 PM ^
Do the seminoles have any other legacies that we could have? Bush, Morris, now Jennings. Also it’s nice for a top 100 recruit to just fall into our recruiting class. Is this how OSU always feels?
October 16th, 2020 at 12:26 PM ^
Yes but Top 50 recruits
October 16th, 2020 at 1:24 PM ^
Who lent Maizen $5?
October 16th, 2020 at 4:20 PM ^
i can quit mgoblog now. i've been compared to maizen.
October 16th, 2020 at 5:35 PM ^
Just fucking with you. Post often.
October 16th, 2020 at 12:24 PM ^
The 13th best player in Florida is inside the top 100 in the country. Jeez. I'm guessing the 13th best player in Michigan doesn't crack the top 500 in most years.
October 16th, 2020 at 1:35 PM ^
Michigan has your man - Andrel Anthony and he is #554 this year.
October 16th, 2020 at 3:07 PM ^
Think about this: That only leaves 69 other top 100 spots for the other 49 states. This is why satellite camps were so important.
October 16th, 2020 at 4:53 PM ^
You might want to get that dyslexia checked out.
October 16th, 2020 at 8:51 PM ^
I feel like we arguably get our best players from Florida. I love whenever we get a Florida or Cali guy!
October 17th, 2020 at 10:07 AM ^
But we need to recruit Michigan better...
October 17th, 2020 at 4:37 PM ^
If MI HS coaches want to play games, JH will just go snag a top 100 recruit from FL. You want your MI HS player showcased at UM? Don’t play games.

POSBANG PART II ELECTRIC BOOGALOO!!!!
October 16th, 2020 at 12:38 PM ^

October 16th, 2020 at 12:56 PM ^
Isn't he supposed to be in school?
October 16th, 2020 at 1:02 PM ^
Welcome too 100 player!
October 16th, 2020 at 1:30 PM ^
Can we top a too?
October 16th, 2020 at 1:45 PM ^
Dammit
October 16th, 2020 at 1:38 PM ^
FSU is really the gift that keeps on giving.
Devin Bush x2, George Campbell, and now Jennings
October 16th, 2020 at 1:41 PM ^
I hope we can actually develop them....our player development of talent has been underwhelming. Also hope they stick with their commitment.
October 16th, 2020 at 2:01 PM ^
Michigan hasn't done a good job developing linebackers?! That's an..... interesting take. Jennings might end up as an edge defender if his body continues to develop, which would also be good news for him. We turned a tight end who was barely in the top 300 into an NFL stud in Chase Winovich. We also turned a very raw project in Josh Uche into a 2nd round pick. Think of what we could do with Jennings.
October 16th, 2020 at 2:07 PM ^
Winovich was recruited as a LB, not a TE, and only got moved to TE/FB for one season for reasons that we still can't fathom.
October 16th, 2020 at 2:05 PM ^
Yeah, we really haven't been able to develop much front 7 defensive talent recently. Just...
Taco
Winovich
Hurst
Glasgow
Wormley
Henry
Paye
Hutchinson
Bush
Gedeon
Mcgrone
Uche
Most schools not named Bama/OSU/Clemson would kill for that type of development.
October 16th, 2020 at 4:20 PM ^
We have done a tremendous job with defensive ends and linebackers/vipers and more on the way McGregor etc!
October 16th, 2020 at 4:35 PM ^
Thanks for the LONG list of success at Michigan. Amazing how some always look at the glass half empty. Congrats to Harbaugh and staff for landing this recruit. It appears our recruiting has risen to a new level.
October 16th, 2020 at 2:00 PM ^
I’ve never followed recruiting that closely, but as a high-level comment: it really seems like year after year we are bringing in (and developing) great talent at LB. Possibly our most consistently strong position group during the Harbaugh era.
October 16th, 2020 at 3:19 PM ^
I think we should stop with these ''HELLO" posts until these kids actually sign on the dotted line. We've all been let down way too many times with these type of posts.
Just my 2 cents.
October 16th, 2020 at 3:24 PM ^
So go back to recruiting circa 1992 when you found out your whole class at one time on national signing day?
October 16th, 2020 at 3:33 PM ^
I'd be down. There is nothing worse than hyping yourself up in the offseason based on recruiting classes, only to have those same top talent recruiting classes not live up to the hype year after year.
October 16th, 2020 at 4:07 PM ^
As someone who has followed recruiting pretty closely for 20+ years, I think that's a mistake most fans make and they only have themselves to blame. The reality is a good 1/3 of any particular class is never going to get any meaningful playing time and another 1/3 is probably just depth types. Yet every single hello post you have multiple posters hyping the player up. That's why a dose of Maizen is sometimes good to temper the expectations, though he does beat a dead horse.
Personally I think Jennings is a good get and he has a chance to start someday as a DE or Uche type OLB. I don't see him as a MLB here. My expectations are tempered and no threat of me falling for any hype.
October 16th, 2020 at 5:03 PM ^
Why not just welcome guys who commit to playing for the school you root for, and do it without expectation but with appreciation.
Welcome walk-ons with the same energy as "5*'s". That's what I do.
October 16th, 2020 at 4:48 PM ^
Your worldview is messed up. You can’t compare this to Juwan’s recruiting class.
October 16th, 2020 at 4:02 PM ^
Welcome Brand3n, Way to GoBlue!
October 16th, 2020 at 5:23 PM ^
Looks like that bumps us up to #7 in the composite, alongside pretty good company. It's definitely not what OSU is doing (but their class may end up being the top class ever), but it's also not the disastrous dearth of talent one might think we had if he read only these boards.
Considering the number of recruits that are not even possible to have in play for us, for various institutional/academic/ethical or geographical reasons, I think our staff is doing a great job.
October 16th, 2020 at 5:24 PM ^
(Some has prob looked at this already) but I had always thought that stronger USC, Texas, FSU, Miami etc helps Michigan, as a strong Texas keeps a TX 5 star or two out of OSU's hands; but I guess an argument to be made that top 5 stars in TX, CA, FL will consider OSU regardless, and that weak FSU, Texas etc. let's Michigan win battles for the well scouted 4 stars that Michigan needs..
October 16th, 2020 at 5:37 PM ^
Until we beat OSU and make the Playoffs we will never compete head to head with them in recruiting. However, if we can get talented 4 stars and hope for that awesome QB one of these years, then Harbaugh will have a team that can compete and win the B1G
