Zach Harrison Senior Highlights
Just posted to Hudl yesterday. His length and athleticism are ridiculous - honestly don't remember seeing a high school DL with that arm length before. It's rare to see someone play both ways effectively at DL and WR too. Really hope we can finish the deal with him, big time player.

Don't do this to me until he's on campus

Wait! He plays WR on offense?
That is sick, man. Just SICK!
November 6th, 2018 at 10:10 AM ^
He runs a faster 40 than a good number of our current WRs lol it's pretty insane.
Some people think he could be a TE in college. I tend to think he's still better suited for DE long term, but that just shows how crazy athletic he is.

Clowney played TB in high school and was out running angles. Maurice Hurst played TB in high school as well.
Also, was he inured at any point this season? This film is less than 3 minutes long.

That video is hilarious. It looks like the Incredible Hulk playing junior high football.
November 6th, 2018 at 11:04 AM ^
Literally thought the same thing hahaha
November 6th, 2018 at 9:49 AM ^
Pro players should not be allowed to play high school football.
Love how he blocked the FG then ran down and blocked.
November 6th, 2018 at 9:50 AM ^
I don't want to watch until Sam gets his "gut feel".
After watching the Junior highlights, hurts my head to see how big and athletic this guy is, and how much I would hate to see him playing on the other side for either of the two "Evil Empires".
Looks like our coaches and players have given Zach the red carpet treatment. Hope he is smart and goes to the best school and program in the country.
Go Blue!!!

This reel is much more impressive than the other clips I've seen of him. If we're recruiting another 5-star to both sides of the ball... is it ridiculous to entertain the idea of him playing of offense?
Just sayin- big hamburger helper hands, adjusts to the ball. Owen Marecic, perhaps?
Can I also upvote Zach's choice of highlight music? Sounds almost like a horror movie soundtrack; no obscenities, listenable for all ages. Let's seal the deal here and get 2 of the top 3 players in Ohio.
November 6th, 2018 at 10:34 AM ^
Relative to other highlight tape music, it is great. That's not saying much, but it's something.
November 6th, 2018 at 10:40 AM ^
He's definitely more of a DE than TE. He's just super tall and strong so they played him at TE, but his ball skills are pretty mediocre
November 6th, 2018 at 11:36 AM ^
Ball skills will definitely help him with interceptions at the LOS (sorry, meant in the backfield).

do want
November 6th, 2018 at 9:57 AM ^
Was not expecting to see ZH as a WR. I feel bad for those 5'8" 145 lbs. highschool cornerbacks covering a 6'4" 245 lbs Zach Harrison who is faster than they are.
November 6th, 2018 at 9:59 AM ^
maybe he will play TE before OT
November 6th, 2018 at 10:02 AM ^
Could this be a new form of Megatron? These are the type of players that have the bodies and physical abilities to go so many different way position wise. If he does go blue it will be interesting what position he plays. I can see jumbo receiver, any version of TE, either end of the DL, and if he can pack on the lbs inside DL is an option.

His athleticism is crazy. I totally get why he is conflicted in his choice and would still be thinking about OSU. That said, this kind of raw athleticism under Greg Mattison’s tutelage and playing in a Don Brown defense? Hard to say no to.

Beat Rutgers.
November 6th, 2018 at 10:12 AM ^
He would slot in behind Paye and Uche quite well next season.
November 6th, 2018 at 10:14 AM ^
I wonder if we'll see Hutchinson/Uche splitting reps between rushing/passing downs. Uche is on the lighter side.
November 6th, 2018 at 10:13 AM ^
Damnit.. I watched it and now my hopes are up.
November 6th, 2018 at 10:15 AM ^
What level of competition is that? He seems like the Danny Almonte of Ohio HS football
November 6th, 2018 at 3:14 PM ^
It's legit. Division 1, which is the biggest in Ohio. The teams they play regularly send kids to OSU and other Power 5 schools.
November 6th, 2018 at 10:25 AM ^
He reminds me of Adolphus Washington coming out of high school. Bigger and stronger than the competition and simply overpowering and man handling the guy across from him. Honestly, I didn’t think Washington would be that great at the next level because everyone would catch up to him, but I was clearly wrong. I have similar “concerns” with Harrison, wondering if he has the quick twitch to match the power and translate, but I’m sure he’ll be great as well.
November 6th, 2018 at 10:26 AM ^
What level of competition is this? Those teams look kind of crappy.
November 6th, 2018 at 10:29 AM ^
The thing that pops out to me is how lanky he still looks, and not in a bad way. He can likely put another 30 pounds on his frame and stay just as athletic. Amazing.
November 6th, 2018 at 10:40 AM ^
He seems a bit larger than those other boys.
November 6th, 2018 at 10:45 AM ^
If I had those talents I would want to play for the best defensive coordinator in the country.
November 6th, 2018 at 11:09 AM ^
I chuckled through these highlights partly because Harrison is so much bigger and stronger than the rest of those kids and seeing him run go routes and high point the ball is kind of unfair and ridiculous.
I also recall being approached by ginormous man-sized high schoolers playing football and some of those memories aren't fun.
November 6th, 2018 at 11:41 AM ^
I remember making a play at safety against a kid who looked like a grown man. Straight up tried to truck me head on. I was so proud I made that tackle as they carted me off.
November 6th, 2018 at 11:10 AM ^
Please don't post this until he commits, it get my hopes up.
November 6th, 2018 at 11:10 AM ^
Needs to not be so upright
November 6th, 2018 at 11:12 AM ^
Do yourselves a favor, people. Don't watch. It's like looking at the sun too long.
Hopes are now poised squarely over the jagged rocks of crootin' and all the stupid bagmen and skulduggery that implies. A precarious perch. O Brothers, spare yourselves this fate.

Man amongst boys
November 6th, 2018 at 11:41 AM ^
Just a man among boys. He looks like if Hulk played WR. Also, those are some Gator-y unis his high school wears.
November 6th, 2018 at 1:20 PM ^
That man sure looks like Jevon Kearse to me. Might be the uniforms.
Before his injury bugs popped up, Kearse was the biggest thing in football.
November 6th, 2018 at 1:35 PM ^
He flipped the ball to the referee after his touchdowns, Barry Sanders-style. Very efficient in his path to the QB. Seems like a really self-possessed young man with a classy but ferocious game.
November 6th, 2018 at 5:21 PM ^
I was fortunate enough to get to watch him in every game the last 4 years. My son graduated from Orange 2 years ago and my youngest is a freshman there now, both in the marching band. It's even more fun in person to see Zach play. And he's an incredibly humble teammate and an overall really nice kid. Doesn't give refs attitude, attentive to his coaches, incredibly focused on the field. It was sad to watch them lose this past Friday to a school from Toledo in the playoffs just because we won't get to watch him anymore on Fridays. He will be missed wherever he goes. I just hope he decides to play in Ann Arbor so I get to keep cheering for him to win every Saturday now instead.
