Appreciate the additional insight and point of view.

From what I have read about…

From what I have read about his character, and what Dax spoke about what Michigan offered as a school/environment (high standards of ethics). If he was slighted by negative recruiting it could be possible that he would have second thoughts about Alabama. IF that really is the case, this young man would show serious mettle if he went against the grain to flip back. Kind of intriguing to say the least.

Might as well grab Petrino as Director of Student Affairs while he is available. Why not?

I wondered the same thing…

I wondered the same thing when I watched it. No news is good news right?

Could this be a new form of…

Could this be a new form of Megatron? These are the type of players that have the bodies and physical abilities to go so many different way position wise. If he does go blue it will be interesting what position he plays. I can see jumbo receiver, any version of TE, either end of the DL, and if he can pack on the lbs inside DL is an option.

I thank you for this!!! My group of three will be staying at the Hyatt O'Hare this weekend, and will be looking for something to do pregame. We will appreciate the hell out of this. Go Blue!

Watch the replay again. The CB rolled his right ankle when landing. It had nothing to do with cramps.

It is always easier to arm…

It is always easier to arm chair QB as a fan. The Offense was playing behind and digging out from a big ass hole right off the bat. ND had all the momentum, and it only became neutral twice in the game. When Thomas returned the kick off, and when we scored the last touchdown. It is a lot easier for a defense to give it a little more when they are up and can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I will admit to turning off the game when Wimbush picked up that 3rd and 18 right up the gut. I did turn it back on at the start of the fourth quarter to only be more annoyed. I re-watched the game twice after, and I started to see a lot of positives. ND was a better team, but beatable, and were in the game to the end. A win would have been awesome, but there is a ton of shit for the coaching staff to coach up, and the players just got really good experience. If the play ins't stellar by the end of the year I will be shocked. Sucks to lose, but man this team really has some talent, and the coaching changes are already being seen. The team fought and rallied all the way to the end which was a great sign.

If you lead with Shoulder…

If you lead with Shoulder pad with head up and outside. No penalty should be called as far as I know. I do understand that the targeting penalty is really weird, but Kinnel hit the OSU receiver in the same fashion with no penalty. Sadly it knocked him silly, and the catch was still ruled a completion.

That clip where MSU makes…

That clip where MSU makes that stupid circus bobble catch and you see Kinnel fly by makes me so sad. Kinnel should have buried his left shoulder into the ribs of that receiver. No way he holds on to the ball, and most likely is out the rest of the game with disintegrated rib bones. Those plays are the kind that you think about later in life.

I had one where the TE was running with the ball and made 90 degree cut into sideline and I was already full on running in his direction. Me being a nose tackle in open space was not prepared and whiffed...well not even whiffed more like didn't realize the opportunity I had just missed. The TE didn't see me either he was not even looking at me. Full open and square torso coming right at me too. What a bummer. Luckily this was just a practice and not game.

I agree with this, and it…

I agree with this, and it was my first thought as well. He is not protecting anyone by not answering the question this way. Harbaugh has to answer everything so bland and off kilter since the press puts words in his mouth. Look at the chicken comment thing for crying out loud... It is sad that the media makes it so difficult to get the facts out without spin to get traffic.

Cirlces

There is not a coach out there that can win championships given the circumstances Harbaugh has had... This is the insane attitude that can't be reasoned with. I guess we will just have to have a difference in opinions then. Good luck and Go Blue!

Records

Would you prefer to have Mike Diantonies record agaist OSU or our current record? Did you watch what IA did to OSU last year? That was more than Kinnick Stadium at work. Michigan has been in almost every game to the very end. The only blowout was against Pedd State last year. Better QB play may or may not have had led to a different outcome there as well. All coaches want he top recruits, but that is difficult to do if you have high expectations off the field. I don't even want to go down the bag man rabbit hole either. The point you just blew right over is those teams you marked as irrevelant, have had decent records the last decade. If there are a few years with lower recruiting rankings it is not the end of the world. If Michigan can go on a a good run, and win the BIG 10 next year or even just their division there could be good bump to the next class. We all want to win, but the ranking of recruits is not the only thing makes a team win games. Winning is a culture, and I feel Harbaugh is trying very hard to establish this.

Recruiting..

After watching how last season went, and then watching the Amazon series. I am starting to get the impression that Harbaugh is looking for specific types of players both physically and mentally with the emphasis on the latter. He is looking for players who "want" to become better athletes and people in general. A lot of times the highest rated players are used to be bing the best, and adversity doesn't bring the best out of them. Please take this next statement with a grain of salt as I understand this is painting with a broad brush. The younger generation is very different than that from a decade before, and the things that motivate them are different as well. I am not saying these kids are soft, but the way they percieve or deal with stressors in life is harder for an older person to anticipate. Michigan athletes are not going to be treated the same as athletes at other schools who are they to be an athlete only. Harbaugh knows this and wants that standard up held, and that makes it difficult to get the high ranking athletes who are looking to specifically have an easy path to the NFL.

I was just as frustrated as most last season, and it is understandable as a fan. With that said it doesn't mean you should trash everything all the time. As far as everyone on the board is aware no one is actually on the staff, and has 100% access to everything. Look at what WI, IA, NW, (MSU...), and some of the other schools who are not always top 20 in the recruiting world produce for teams and records the last decade. You can win with the right tram and player combinations. Does AL/GA/USC have a higher probability to win out each year? Yes, but they are beatable it just becomes harder. Beilen has taken all sorts of criticism from the "fan" base about his recruiting as well. He has his best class coming in after going to NC with a team people thought was NIT bound. He also spoke in a interview about studying all of the details of an athlete other than their athletic abilities when recruiting them.

There are so many people that need to learn how to be more objective on things instead of going into Chicken Little mode. Believe it or not better in depth conversation is able to be achieved amongnst the group on this blog if that were followed. Otherwise the only worthy text to read here is what is put together by the staff. So, how about we grow up and use our brains to produce more than a Twitter blerb...

Sorry for the rant!

So much this...I have not forgotten since I read that comment.

Tired Work Day

Is always good after a win! Go Blue!!!

Love this...

This coach I speak of was hated by every player on my team for almost the entire year. To this day every person I speak with has nothing but great things to say about that coach. He was a JV coach and we missed him dearly our junior and senior seasons. He took a bunch of severly undersized and low talent players and made them 6-2 for a season. Two years later his team went undefeated and never had a point scored against them. Never once did he get physical with anyone, but you knew if fucked up your goose was cooked. If I ever run into him at a bar his first drink is on me, and there is a long ass list of people out there that would do the same.

Fire

In all of my football days I had the best season and winning record with a coach who did this regularly. The highlight of that season was clapping in pregame warm up formation for over 30 minutes, because it just didn't sound good enough for coach. Do you know how bad your hands hurt after that? The result was a win in dominate fashion against a team we had no business beating. When you are seeking the best results out of young adults, and getting in their shit is one of the best ways to do it. College athletes need it more to keep them grounded, and there is no gif showing what McElwain said or did to be a postive reinforcement to this player later on. You build them up and tear them down over and over. Since when did football become about hurting a players feelings? Play stupid games win stupid prizes, and this player was the winner. Personally, I like a coach not afraid to lose it on a player that makes a mistake. /Inc all the arm chair psycologists citing internet studies about feel good vibes produce better blah, blah, blah...

It was either a 10 or 25 lb

It was either a 10 or 25 lb plate on each side, and they were using a Duffalo Bar which is 55 lbs instead of the standard 45. So, it was 435 or 465 in total weight, and done with no belt and solid form.
