Just like the rankings shouldnt come out until October, no one should be able to comment on game threads until halftime, so many whiny chicken littles here. Embarassing. This team is pretty good. NW punched State in the mouth today and we dominated. If you were pulling your hair out in the first quarter, sack up a bit next game, Nancys.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:38 PM ^
I just take an MGoBreak when the whine is going to be served.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:48 PM ^
Dominated? You don't start out 0-17 against NW and only win by 3 and call that dominating. Lol
I'm just glad we are at the meat of the schedule to find out if Michigan is actually good or not.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:56 PM ^
Pretty sure he means Mich dominated Md, not NW. Context clues are a thing.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:56 PM ^
Brah he’s talking about Maryland, today. We dominated. Reading comprehension.
October 6th, 2018 at 5:17 PM ^
Hey danger, it seems to me from the tone of your comment that you are looking forward to Michigan losing in “the meat” of the schedule.
If so, get lost wanker.
October 6th, 2018 at 6:29 PM ^
Read with understanding much? He is referring to Maryland...
October 6th, 2018 at 4:49 PM ^
Lol you're acting like we beat a ranked team on the road. It was a Maryland team that lost to Tulsa. We again came out flat in the first. The big games are coming now. Let's see what Harbaugh does .
October 6th, 2018 at 4:50 PM ^
What’s this we bullshit. What number do you wear?
October 6th, 2018 at 5:37 PM ^
Trolls operate without fear here, so no need to use "we" or coachy-legacy names as your beard.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:57 PM ^
A Maryland team that beat Texas as well. I’m not sure what else you want from this team up to this point.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:59 PM ^
Going 3-0 vs Wisconsin, MSU and Penn State. Beating Maryland at home, good job, but I've seen it.
October 6th, 2018 at 5:27 PM ^
I feel like you are the most negative person ever. I think we all want to see that but lets just enjoy the win right now. There are only so many weekends of college football, lets just enjoy them.
October 6th, 2018 at 6:43 PM ^
I enjoyed todays game. Howevrt Maryland is a no hoper and Michigan hasn't won a title since Dubya was in office.
Bo said "BIG goals, BIG dreams", we will see next week what we have
October 6th, 2018 at 7:24 PM ^
Then why don't you just not watch or share any comment until then. You just have to troll people. Don't be a dick
October 6th, 2018 at 5:51 PM ^
They didn’t play those teams today. The game they did play, went very well, as good as anyone could ask for.
October 6th, 2018 at 5:02 PM ^
Big 12 defense is...not good. M defense is very good.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:58 PM ^
They lost to Temple, not Tulsa.
they also beat Texas, who is now 5-1 after beating OU Today. But sure, let’s just conveniently ignore that.
maryland is a decent team, they could easily win 8 games.
October 6th, 2018 at 5:16 PM ^
The x is greater than y and y is greater than z then x is greater than z argument doesn't necessarily apply in sports, especially with a bunch of 18-22 year olds. It's a reasonable measure to use, but too many variables. Teams get better during the season, injuries happen, motivations change (see Staee), you get the picture. Based on the eyeball test, I think some of the concerns directed towards play calling are warranted. The true measure, like others have mentioned, will come next week. It'll be interesting to see if a more creative approach is used on offense.
October 6th, 2018 at 5:16 PM ^
If you are going compare how teams did against other teams to determine how good they are then you have to include that this Maryland team did beat Texas who beat a pretty darn good Oklahoma team today.
October 6th, 2018 at 6:28 PM ^
Wow, you are one negative Nancy, MoBo. You really can't enjoy anything, can you?
Yes, there are tests coming up, but today we had a dominant win, with lots of great things to see. Michigan is clearly improving, and played a pretty damned good game.
If it's not fun for you, why do you watch? Is complaining fun, or do you enjoy getting a rise out of strangers?
To each his/her own, I suppose.
October 6th, 2018 at 6:50 PM ^
Lost to Temple.
October 6th, 2018 at 7:25 PM ^
Maryland also beat Texas. I don't think they're a great team, but I wouldn't say they're as bad as they were when they lost to Temple either. They're competent.
October 6th, 2018 at 7:27 PM ^
They lost to Temple. They beat Texas - same Texas that beat Oklahoma. Transitive property doesn’t mean much but Maryland isn’t a bad team by any stretch. They just happen to be good at the things Michigan’s defense is good at defending.
Northwestern is a solid team - yards discrepancy was meaningful against them from us. This Michigan team is good - unsure if they are elite but the next three weeks will tell us a lot....
October 6th, 2018 at 10:04 PM ^
The defense sure didn't come out flat. Maybe the offense didn't execute right away. Wish they'd run more screens, or some more cutback runs.
October 7th, 2018 at 9:35 AM ^
I thought the team was fine on both sides of ball early. Michigan moved ball all day on offense and was suffacating on D with the 1's in game. Keep in mind MD had two weeks to prepare for this game and for 3 qtrs it was a very impressive gameplan and execution in all phases with the exception of a kickoff return TD. Saw a little razzle dazzle with double reverse pass. Although not pretty, it was effective. Also, good to have on tape to show it could happen making M less predictable. Like the "I" formation with Wagner and Mason showing both passing and running. I saw a confident offense with a coaching staff that cracked open the playbook with a little more creativity. I think Michigan wins comfortably the next two weeks. And if healthy on D, can open it up against PSU with an extra week to prepare.
October 6th, 2018 at 5:13 PM ^
I agree ? grown men acting like middle school girls
October 6th, 2018 at 5:16 PM ^
Stop insulting middle school girls.
October 6th, 2018 at 5:14 PM ^
You know, I find myself in agreement with you actually.
For as many as I believe are probably at least semi-jokingly throwing out comments, there are more folks than I care to admit that I believe are in that category where it either goes perfect based on their unattainable expectations or it is a disaster and there is no room for texture in their internal monologue.
Those are the fans who I would love to see never attend a game again.
October 6th, 2018 at 5:41 PM ^
But then there wouldn't be that guy always sitting behind me saying the same gotdamn thing every game no matter where I sit.
October 6th, 2018 at 6:51 PM ^
Guys saying "decent win but a few flaws and the real test comes next week" it's out the norm for you?
We don't want different opinions now do we?
Michigan was 17.5 point favorites btw.
October 6th, 2018 at 8:41 PM ^
Do you always get so much sand in your vag when you go to the beach?
Relax, MoBo. The team literally couldn't have done any more than they did.
Can only play the team in front of you. Such a novel concept I know.
October 6th, 2018 at 8:51 PM ^
I'm perfectly relaxed. 2 decades of futility will do that to you.
I'm still in show me mode. Wins against bottom feeders don't impress me. Big boy football the next 3 weeks. Let's see how Harbaugh responds.
October 6th, 2018 at 10:23 PM ^
That's the point you're missing. Maryland isn't a bottom feeder. They are a solid team that we beat soundly.
October 6th, 2018 at 11:44 PM ^
How is it two decades? You can argue from 2008 on... that's ONE decade.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:31 PM ^
Didn't get the shutout? Didn't score on every drive? Fire everybody.
October 6th, 2018 at 5:19 PM ^
Umm...I think you meant "didn't score a TD on every drive".
October 7th, 2018 at 9:46 AM ^
Why do the fake reverse Perry pass when you can run it straight into a stacked box! Jeez...
October 6th, 2018 at 4:31 PM ^
We beat a team that beat Texas in Austin pretty badly, the Northwestern game looks more understandable, Notre Dame is really good, and this team will be amazing if they shake off some sluggishness early on in games. I'm content.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:48 PM ^
Game was in Landover.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:54 PM ^
Basically the same thing if you think about it.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:54 PM ^
Regardless, UT is 5-1 now.
October 6th, 2018 at 7:41 PM ^
Correct. Maryland's win over UT in Austin was last year.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:59 PM ^
I literally don't understand how every fucking person that talks about the Maryland Texas game mentions that it was a road game for Maryland..
October 6th, 2018 at 5:53 PM ^
Easy to understand. Nobody watched the game.
October 7th, 2018 at 10:23 PM ^
The problem with the ND game was scheduling. First game, road game, night game, breaking in a new QB. If the game was played this week, it's much closer to a win, though the road struggles still are the elephant in the room.
I am in "show me" mode about the road games. I think we beat Wisconsin this week.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:32 PM ^
Overall a very good job.
Still a few things...offense will need to be better in the 1st quarter going forward, and also in the red zone.
October 6th, 2018 at 8:19 PM ^
Both of those are valid observations. The first couple drives sputtered due to missed timing and getting in flow. Would be better if they could be in flow from the start. What I see is they are working in that direction. The "easy" part of the schedule is now over. Here comes the murderers row part. For some reason I'm not as uneasy about their chances.. :)
October 6th, 2018 at 4:33 PM ^
Patterson played much better this week than last week. Harbaugh seems to be working his magic again.
October 6th, 2018 at 4:33 PM ^
Great game plans on both sides of the ball. Went up and down the field and kept them in one place until it was all but over.
