I can’t stop laughing at this. Well played.

I'm very sad that I no longer know how to post GIFs on this site, but I'm very happy that your choice was so strong!
August 20th, 2018 at 11:53 PM ^
These look photoshopped! Is this real?
Holy Crap, Chris Evans is our scat back!?
Bo is looking down & shaking his head - and SMILING!
August 21st, 2018 at 12:42 AM ^
Agree, very much look photoshopped.
August 21st, 2018 at 5:54 AM ^
You can see they have a different posture in the "after" the picture, which is also slightly larger in scale than the "before" picture.
August 21st, 2018 at 7:03 AM ^
Yeah, the afters are taken from a sightly higher angle, from a slightly closer position, and while the guys are flexing, but even considering all that... those are some absurd 6-month transformations for guys who were already training in a major college football program.
August 21st, 2018 at 8:39 AM ^
Did you notice the haircuts? Every one of them has less hair, making the rest of them look bigger. Big props to who did Khalekes' mop, the difference is startling...
August 21st, 2018 at 12:03 AM ^
One player not shown is Joe Milton who put on almost 25 pounds. Wolverines Wire has his photo along with the ones here.

You got a link? Asking for myself.
August 21st, 2018 at 8:41 AM ^
I hope no one asks me what I did on my day off...
August 21st, 2018 at 12:03 AM ^
It’s leg day every day, wow! I would love some perspective on how much of this is routine vs. nutrition or other factors.
August 21st, 2018 at 12:05 AM ^
The linemen are the most dramatic just because they shift so much bad weight into good weight.
August 21st, 2018 at 12:11 AM ^
Caeser seems to be sucking his gut in on the after, but yeah, still dramatically redistributed his weight. Spanellis looks like a different person.
August 21st, 2018 at 12:18 AM ^
Lol these photos look so fake it's not even funny
August 21st, 2018 at 7:25 AM ^
Wait. . . "lol" but "not even funny"? I think these broke you, man.
I find them quite amusing. They could very easily take the before/after pics from the same angle with the same lighting and same posture, but they went with "1980s late night infomercial" photography.
That said, the one thing that ain't fake (unless it's brazenly 'shopped) is Spanellis dropping his love handles, so there's definitely some progress.
August 21st, 2018 at 9:54 AM ^
...or just flexing. You stated, "the muscle is more defined and has taken different shape." Muscles move and change shape when you flex. It isn't so easy to tell how much of the difference is just that the "after" pictures have them flexing. Sure, there is some obvious muscle development, but it is really hard to tell how much when they aren't flexing in the "before" images.
August 21st, 2018 at 9:55 AM ^
Easiest way to see the difference is to use the same pose and angle and lighting.
August 21st, 2018 at 10:30 AM ^
The numbers are posted right below the photos. It's not meant to be scientific. Of course the guys are gonna flex in the after picture. No is trying to fool anyone.
August 21st, 2018 at 12:22 AM ^
Spanellis was our 6th best lineman last year.
I think I can see why harbaugh was saying they’d run out of gas and unable to close out games last year. Good lord

"A guy who came to [Ben Herbert] for the first time, his ass was a wad of cookie dough. After a few weeks, he was carved out of wood."
August 21st, 2018 at 12:26 AM ^
Their faces even look more sculpted. Must have them chewing rocks.
August 21st, 2018 at 9:02 AM ^
Bucknuts. Raw.
August 21st, 2018 at 12:36 AM ^
Regardless of how fake these might look to some, all of their legs look a lot bigger.
August 21st, 2018 at 12:42 AM ^
I don't know what Ben Herbert and his staff are doing, but they really should write a book. These transformations are insane.
August 21st, 2018 at 12:50 AM ^
“Right” a book? SMH...
August 21st, 2018 at 1:19 AM ^
Fixed, thanks for your patience and understanding.
August 21st, 2018 at 2:39 AM ^
Did Herbert's staff also remove his nipple?
August 21st, 2018 at 5:56 AM ^
Pfffft. I’m calling BS on that pic. First, look how much bigger the smile is in the after pic—classic misdirection. Also, the suspenders are gone and the background is different—all intentional to trick you.
August 21st, 2018 at 12:47 AM ^
This shit is ridiculous. Mustache even looks fake. He guys, suck in the gut and flex. Hold it let me adjust the light. Got it.
August 21st, 2018 at 1:13 AM ^
Imposing specimen! Which one would you least like to fight? I'm going with Khaleke.
The others I'm pretty sure I could distract with hogies & tacos/painting & poetry.
August 21st, 2018 at 6:28 AM ^
Tremendous gains. One thing though is they are flexing compared to not flexing. Especially with Chris Evans. That does make a little bit of a difference. Also, in which the way they are standing in the two photos. They've definitely put on the gains but the photos can be deceiving. You can clearly tell though Hudson's shoulders have blown up.
August 21st, 2018 at 1:27 PM ^
I think the legs show a tremendous difference, not even sure how much you can flex thighs but damn they look like everyday is leg day.
August 21st, 2018 at 7:05 AM ^
They are all on roids!

August 21st, 2018 at 7:40 AM ^
Good grief, Michigan did look weak last year by comparison
August 21st, 2018 at 7:47 AM ^
I heard some still haven't bought into the new program...
August 21st, 2018 at 8:27 AM ^
Every player must have this before and after photo ... part of Herbert's process in showing them how dramatically they improved. Especially good for the OL. Jansen said every guy can now push that 900lb sled 10 yards. Before Herbert arrived, only 2 guys could do it.
August 21st, 2018 at 8:30 AM ^
Some of these are not real changes. They are changing the way they are posing. Ruiz being one example.
August 21st, 2018 at 11:02 AM ^
I hear what you're saying but if you just look at the weight difference in the players and notice how it is distributed on the body(OL looking a bit more trim with same weight) they're still very significant improvements. I mean Evans maintained his bodyfat % and added 10+ lbs. That's huge for an athlete.
August 21st, 2018 at 8:35 AM ^
Personally, I love this stuff but it seems like we do this every season when talking about our strength and conditioning guys. Every year we are bigger stronger and faster. I'm just ready for the season to start so we can see the results on the field.
August 21st, 2018 at 8:55 AM ^
I agree with you, but this is the first time we have actual photo evidence that I can recall.
I agree that there is the flexing/not flexing trick, but you can still tell several of these guys have made huge gains in about 6 months.
August 21st, 2018 at 9:01 AM ^
I honestly enjoy it as it gives us something to talk about until the season starts. It also gives me a flashback to the Barwis days when it seemed like we were constantly talking about this stuff.
August 21st, 2018 at 8:40 AM ^
damn khaleke
August 21st, 2018 at 9:02 AM ^
Why on earth would they put out these obviously staged pictures? I mean aside from maybe Ruiz, it's painfully obvious to anyone with eyes that it's just a picture of them standing normal next to a picture of them flexing as hard as they can.
I'm sure the new S&C coach is doing a great job, but let's not pretend the results are more than they are lol
August 21st, 2018 at 9:04 AM ^
These dudes got ripped and shredded.
Nice work fellas!
August 21st, 2018 at 9:49 AM ^
Abigail O’Connor is the nutritionist. She deserves publicity.
August 21st, 2018 at 10:04 AM ^
For doing her job?
August 21st, 2018 at 10:42 AM ^
For doing her job well, yes. Coach Herb gets a lot of accolades, but if you listen to him he'll tell you that half of that result is because the team is fueling their bodies better pre and post workout. They spend a lot of time educating these players on a healthy diet that gives them jet fuel for building muscle.
Look at those results! We thought they were in shape before. That's a whole other level of strength.
August 21st, 2018 at 4:28 PM ^
I can see in Cesar Ruiz' face he is eating healthier.
