I'd emphasize that for everything you and I believe there is a valid rebuttal to it. Thus proving reasonable minds differ. I might completely agree with you btw, but devils advocate would rebut it as such:
If the argument is to stop spread, case rate is the only metric that matters. If the point of a passport is to stop spread, a metric identifying spread is all that should matter. The only metric that tracks spread is case rate, not hospitalizations or deaths or anything else relating to the effectiveness of vaccines in lessening symptoms.
They might even continue to say hospitalization and death rates are obviously very important, but then when you look at Florida having the lowest death rate in the country (cite: WaPo below) and (loudly) no mandates on anything it gets confusing.
Point trying to be: love ya, reasonable (very educated) minds can differ. Just assume that for everything you and I and everyone below this says there is a valid rebuttal and it'll save mods a lot of time as they try to keep it a sports blog.
Reasonable minds can very much disagree on if this makes any safety difference or not. Plenty of people can cite NYC's nation leading spikes as evidence it doesn't.
I'd encourage people not to share their personal opinions (read carefully, I didn't share mine even though you might think I did). Informative post on rule changes is helpful, whether you agree with them or not. Before this thread inevitably gets locked.
It seems like our NCAA tournament hopes are relatively safe (/knock), so I personally would rather have some wolverines compete in the olympics and perhaps win gold and silver than have them here for some regular season meetups. Give the other players a chance to step up and hope they provide good depth in the tournament!
I'm aware they will also miss valuable practice and team connection time, but personally I think it'd be awesome for them to be in the olympics!

Also, if say both we and Wisconsin attack a Nebraska territory what is the order of operations there? Like does Nebraska just need to win each battle head to head, or does us dinging down some of their forces but losing the battle make it easier for wisconsin to take the territory?
I think you have that completely backwards actually. They went for it on 4th and did get the touchdown to go up 41-31.
They still lost the game obviously and blowing a 10 point lead with 5 minutes left still means you screwed something up, but I believe they did score the touchdown on that 4th down.

Should probably note that the NFL draft is ~256 players each year so in theory all should be 4 stars or greater. If we need math and numbers 256 < 300, so 100% of players drafted each year could have been 4 star recruits or higher.
I get what you are saying in your post but how many of those 90% of players who are 3 stars or lower and going to like Rutgers end up going pro? Those numbers are kinda misleading because it assumes all college players have the same probability of going pro. To me it is still surprising to see how innaccurate these recruiting rankings are by how many pro players are < 4 stars.

Wisconsin would be at best 4-1 because they lost to Michigan.
