Let's at least watch the Spring game, jeez.

Hopefully he gets to put his…

Hopefully he gets to put his speed on display somewhere else! He's consistently listed as one of, if not THE fastest player on the team. It's a bummer we didn't get to see it here, but I wish him the best.

To be fair to him, that USC…

To be fair to him, that USC defense was...bad.

If any of those alums have a…

If any of those alums have a dream of being the head coach for Michigan, the move might be to find a promotion elsewhere. If I were in their shoes, I'd look at it like this:

  • If Moore does well, he could be the head coach at Michigan for a long time. As a result, my career growth has an obvious ceiling at Michigan.
  • If he does poorly, the athletic department likely won't promote from within again. There's a good chance they clean house or keep me on staff while they bring in a big splash hire.
  • If Moore does well and has NFL aspirations (or is lured back to Oklahoma where he once played), I could possibly see myself promoted from within. Doesn't seem likely.
  • If I leave and prove my value as a coordinator and/or head coach, I will be high on the list for a replacement when they move on from Moore. Given the typical life-span of college coaches nowadays, this is probably the most likely path of becoming a head coach at Michigan.

I really enjoyed the McAfee…

I really enjoyed the McAfee broadcast because they all seemed to be rooting against Michigan. I don't follow the show, so I don't know if they were losing bets or just hate Michigan in general, but it's extra satisfying when you can squeeze a little schadenfreude out of the joys of victory.

I have similar thoughts…

I have similar thoughts. Outside of the Pistons winning in the early 2000's when I was too young to truly appreciate it, I've never had my team win a national championship. It's almost as if my sports fandom was fueled by the dream to win it all.

Now that it happened, especially in the storybook way that it did, I don't feel the angst I typically do this time of year. I've experienced the pinnacle as a fan, and as amazing as it feels, it isn't worth ruining every fall. I don't see myself going into a dark pit after a loss, because most of that darkness was the feeling that my teams just don't have what it takes to reach that level. I just wanted to witness it once in my life and that possibility seemed to be slipping away.

I'll always be a fan and I know when the season comes around I'll be back in the swing excited for every game, but football can't hurt me anymore. Of course I want to see them win every game they play, but if they don't, I will always have 2023 to look back on.

I don't want a 30 for 30 on this. ESPN needs to keep its ugly fingers off of this story for the rest of time.

There's no reason for the…

There's no reason for the coaching staff to bring in Orji to throw when you have McCarthy. They dialed it up in the postseason as a tendency breaker, but it didn't fool anyone. Hopefully we'll find out about his arm in the Spring.

This is perfect.

I'll take this and a documentary, plz.

mbrummer3, thank you so much for these! I made the post last year asking where you've been and I'm glad I wasn't the only one who missed this content.

Cheers to an amazing year! Let's Go Blue!

Oh sweet! Looking at the MSU…

Oh sweet! Looking at the MSU score and using the transitive property, we should win by a couple touchdowns.

Feldman has the right…

Feldman has the right demeanor but I wouldn't let that fool you. The speculation from anonymous sources he indulged in during the dark times of this year was enough to make me realize he's no journalist.

That is bad practice and it did what he intended. Added fuel to the fire and got a bunch of clicks.

This sounds good! Always…

This sounds good! Always looking for other ways to use Nonino. I’ll have to settle for a mint garnish today.

Upvoted this at 68 and it jumped to 70. Not nice.

Hey man. We’ve been paying players for a couple of years now.

You’re just not getting it,…

You’re just not getting it, dude. I’d sleep on it if I were you.

Leverage is pretty valuable.

For the Playoffs, we can try…

For the Playoffs, we can try to go to a bar that was going to play it anyway. Support a local business and give a middle finger to ESPN. Win/Win!

Sounds like you've been…

Sounds like you've been helping all along. I salute you.

Was the CMU business the…

Was the CMU business the hilarious thing you hinted at last week?

The "(for him)" part in…

The "(for him)" part in Balas' tweet is giving me pause. I can see the headline now:

"NFL will not enforce NCAA punishment if Harbaugh leaves after this year."

Wild speculation has been…

Wild speculation has been happening against Michigan for 2 weeks. Why can't we do the same?

If you don't like it, carry on and leave us alone.

Georgia plays the Bye this…

Georgia plays the Bye this weekend. FL/GA is 10/28.

I care less when it's a…

I care less when it's a rival player Michigan beat. Like I'll probably always hate Kirk Cousins, even if that Netflix doc is trying to get me to like him (4-0 against us). CJ Stroud could start for the Lions and I'd have no problem rooting for him (0-2 against us).

I have been waiting for this…

I have been waiting for this moment my whole MGoBlog life.

Ladies and gents. Tomorrow…

Ladies and gents. Tomorrow is the last Saturday of the year without college football.

I literally gasped like a…

I literally gasped like a little schoolboy when I saw this on the front page. I am using the word "literally" correctly.

It's officially football season y'all!

Thanks for the pump up to start the work day. How am I supposed to focus now?

Brian has been on point…

Brian has been on point during the last two roundtables.

I need to be doing something…

I need to be doing something mindless if I'm going to listen to a podcast. I can't just sit there, nor can I retain anything if I'm doing a complicated task at work.

They're great for driving, playing video games, doing chores, etc...

He was always a project but…

He was always a project but he had more raw talent than most QB recruits I've seen. UT runs a system that will allow him to thrive more than he did here. That plus 2 years of development since we last saw him in a Michigan uniform could add up to a really good QB.

I doubt he's really in the Heisman race late in the season, but he could be a problem for SEC defenses.

If Michigan won the Natty in…

If Michigan won the Natty in 2020, I 100% would have thought it wasn't a real season. It would have felt cheap and unearned. Forever asterisked.

Everyone was playing by different rules depending on state laws and responses to COVID.

I'm one of those fans who…

I'm one of those fans who set up a playlist for every year since I started really watching Michigan football (2007). Last summer I watched highlights of every game 2007 - 2021. I've never viewed myself as a masochist, so watching those earlier games is more of a nostalgia hit than anything, but it's also interesting to see the evolution of this team over the last decade and a half.

Will I do it again? No. Shit was exhausting. You don't want to play too much with past trauma.

One of the most notable…

One of the most notable changes in the last couple of years (outside of the wins on the field) is Harbaugh's demeanor. From 2017-2020, all of his interviews sounded like what brain fog feels like. He seems so much more positive and sharp in his interviews now, I just don't know if it's a result of finally winning or if we're winning because of the switch in demeanor.

Either way, I'm here for it!

For mixing, I like Rittenhouse Rye and Old Grand Dad Bonded Bourbon. Both are affordable and pack a 100 proof punch (good for cutting through other cocktail ingredients)

It looks like a farmer's carry or something similar with shoulder exercises added in. Pretty close to a full body workout.

The life of a stand-up comic…

The life of a stand-up comic of his stature may get in the way of his college football viewing. I'm sure he followed along the day of but just now got around to watching it play out.

He's genuinely a fan but he…

He's genuinely a fan but he has admitted to being a little resigned recently due to Michigan going through a rough stretch.

They're also 5 points away…

They're also 5 points away from having 4 total losses. Almost losing to A&M and Texas without their QB isn't great. OSU beat everyone by double digies until they got thunderclapped by Michigan.

I don't want to see OSU in the playoff, but the Alabama over them talk is ridiculous if you ask me.

I just turned 30 a couple of months ago. I think the target audience for this vid is 10-25.

I love watching Josh's show…

I love watching Josh's show. I will say he hedges a lot of his takes so he can go back and select the right ones for videos like this, but it makes for good content.

His SEC bias is a little annoying as well, but I'll take what I can get when I'm jonesing for CFB news.
