Michigan Fan Bill Burr Finally Watches The Game
I haven't seen this posted, so apologies if I'm late to the party. Bill Burr is one of my favorite comedians and I've always loved that he's a Michigan fan. In this video he talks about his experience watching The Game this year. Worth a watch!
The editing is a little wonky early on but if you stick with it, it gets better.

He's got family in the Detroit area so has a connection. However, at one of his comedy shows in Chicago about a month ago, he was critical of Michigan and placed the blame of the tunnel incident on the Michigan players (not MSU).

Meh, don't take a comedian's comments seriously. The whole job is to get a reaction, and the reasonable take doesn't really do that.

I agree. I think BB is hilarious. I still do! (irrespective of his tunnel incident comments)

However, at one of his comedy shows
That right there is the disclaimer
The video was good, but his commentary is kinda lame. I'll never get that time back, and it's the hoildays, I should be shopping or something.

I saw the same show in Chicago. He thought the tunnel incident was fuck around and find out.

It's just a routine. Bill Burr doesn't know Jack about what actually happened. Again, let me point out: He. Wasn't. There.
Also, when it comes to humerous CFB commentary, BB isn't Spencer Hall, or even Ryan Nanni.

Or even Kason Jirk.

Is he a fan because of Michigan's haul of Massachusetts recruits over the past decade, and he being a genuine Masshole?

He's got family in Michigan. He's given his comments on the Michigan-OSU game in the past several times. I think he's an MSU fan over Michigan, but he definitely likes Michigan way more than OSU

Old Billy Ball Bags is definitely (probably?) not an MSU fan. On his podcast he routinely shits on OSU talks and talks about being a Michigan fan. I don't think he ever mentions Sparty.

I like him as well.
I'll sum up Bill's commentary in this vid:
"<cough> <clear throat> It seems like OSU was going to <cough> win. Michigan <clear throat> came back and kicked <cough> their ass. Rivalry <cough> is awesomely weird as it <cough> usually has long <clear throat> blocks of domination."
Any video talkin up a Mich win is great.

that is some weird HTML markup youre using

Didn't know he was a UM fan. Not a huge one, surely, if he just watched the game lol.
Side note but he's a surprisingly capable actor.

I think being a seasoned standup lends itself to developing acting chops quickly.
(NOTE: This does not apply to John Mulaney, who is a great standup and a sh** actor.)

I enjoy Mulaney as a voice actor though. Andrew Glouberman constantly has me in stitches.

I’ve heard him mention it once or twice before, but I think he’s just generally a college football fan. He’s mentioned going to the Rose Bowl and some other venues for games when he travels.

I assume the term "Michigan fan" is used in its broadest, loosest possible definition here.
December 22nd, 2022 at 1:27 PM ^
He's genuinely a fan but he has admitted to being a little resigned recently due to Michigan going through a rough stretch.
December 22nd, 2022 at 11:34 PM ^
A couple years back he talked about watching The Game with his daughter wearing a Michigan Cheer uniform. Either 2018 or 19 game.

good stuff.

Has anyone else watched this game? Is it good?
December 22nd, 2022 at 12:15 PM ^
I heard it takes a little while to get going, but the plot gets good in the second half.
December 22nd, 2022 at 12:20 PM ^
Dude is not a fan if he just watching THAT game now.
December 22nd, 2022 at 1:28 PM ^
The life of a stand-up comic of his stature may get in the way of his college football viewing. I'm sure he followed along the day of but just now got around to watching it play out.
December 22nd, 2022 at 3:39 PM ^
it’s probably a bit and he’s been refining that joke for weeks now. it’s old news so he just says that he just got around to see the game to keep it fresh.

I love his voice work on F is For Family.

That O&A event that he got booed is the greatest creation of a comedy star ever. Literally from that set on Billy Burr started to become a legend

I have to ask. Is that Eric Wareheim in your photo?
December 22nd, 2022 at 3:25 PM ^
No sir

Had no idea he was a Michigan fan! Love him even more now
December 22nd, 2022 at 5:52 PM ^
Worth a watch!
no, it isn't.
