Didn't know who this was until Saturday but I agree, he seems legit. Especially in contrast with Dennis Dodd, who he was reporting alongside (for CBS). Dennis Dodd has annoyed me for years, and even more so now that I know what he looks like. How do some of these hacks still have jobs?

Very interesting take.  Like that he sees this team with plays with confidence and poise.  We have seen that the last two years, and it is beautiful.

I saw this yesterday and thought about posting it. Josh Pate has become probably my favorite college football analyst over the past couple years.

He has the best and most thorough opinion on this game that I’ve seen thus far, and I’ve consumed as much coverage on this as possible, lol.

This is a great take.... and I love the point about Day's firing his DC and bringing in Knowles, only to get the same result.

At some point, Day gets exposed because he runs out of assistants to fire.

I love watching Josh's show. I will say he hedges a lot of his takes so he can go back and select the right ones for videos like this, but it makes for good content.

His SEC bias is a little annoying as well, but I'll take what I can get when I'm jonesing for CFB news.

I really enjoyed that as well, thanks!

The only thing I disagreed with was a specific section about Harbaugh. Pate implied that Jim confidently 'stuck to his guns' with an older school run offense. However, us psychos in here know that he had been constantly tweaking things, often to counter losses to Ohio.

Bringing in Gattis, with his 'speed in space' mantra. Getting away from a true fullback (raise a glass to Bench Mason and the Hammering Panda). Hiring Don Brown. Firing Don Brown. Installing a pro/Ravens-style defense. Etcetera.

Sure, he stuck to a strong and varied run game. But it took a TON of adjustments in coaches and philosophy to get where we are now. And I think Jim deserves a lot of credit for that.

Honestly, I don't even criticize Pate too much for not knowing that. If he is a national guy, there is no way he can get that far in the weeds with each team. But I thought I'd offer some constructive criticism. (:

Good listen, thanks for posting.

I wrote elsewhere how the team was ready for this moment. I remember a moment while I was watching the game, nervous as all get-out, that the team was remarkably calm. They were not rattled in the least and it was a stark comparison to how I felt, lol.

They were ready for the moment.
