I remember being at JoeVision for Game 2 and felt exactly how you stated and how amazing it felt to come back and win that game. Marc Crawford even referenced how nervous he got when Scotty Bowman slapped his hand on the door walking off the bench to the ice like we got what we came for.
However, I still think you had to have the regular season win to get that first monkey off your back.
This game to me was one of the most impactful in Detroit sports history. After winning the Presidents Trophy in 95 and 96, the Wings fell back a little back in fact not even winning their division. They were 0-3 against the Avalanche heading into that game and matters with Lemieux had not been settled (I think he missed the first 2 games).
What transpired in that game in that crazy sequence with Roy, Forsberg, and Lemieux all being bloodied and McCarty not getting thrown out of the game to score the game winner in OT lead to the Wings winning the Cup that year and future success. The acquisition of Shanny at the start of the year was the missing piece they needed.
The ESPN documentary titled Unrivaled is a great watch for those who haven't see it. The ESPN+ version is a little longer than what aired.
Just had my first colonoscopy at age 46 about 5 months ago. Procedure itself is nothing. I watched the clock to see when I went out. Last I remember it was 12:31 PM. I awoke at 12:50 PM. Worse parts of the prep are the hunger and the middle of the night shits. Many worse things in life.
I have heard of a few different prep methods. I was given 2 6 ounce bottles of Clenpiq. Cranberry orange flavored. Not bad all compared to the jugs I have heard others have to take. At the end, they told me see you in 10 years so if you can get your screening, please do it!
Having said that, the teams were very even last year. They were very close to taking that game from us in Ann Arbor. So, if you give Michigan a slight edge when the season ended, I would say they are no longer playing catch-up and have passed us from a talent standpoint.
I will always take being the champ rather than chasing the champ but my point is, we should be benefiting from this win and 2 weeks afterward, it simply is not the case.
To me, the grass is definitely not greener on the other side. He has it made here and absolutely worshipped by all but who am I stay don't chase your dreams. Happy he was able to win it all here because my end impression of the man would have likely been different.

This is true but I would also say the Wings drafting from 2015 to 2018 was pretty dismal. The top 3 players from those drafts were Hronek, Rasmussen, and Berggren. None of which are really first line players.

Instead of drafting a corner, wonder the boards opinion is of trading for Ramsey. I would hate to give up the 18 pick for him but would strongly consider giving up 2 2nd round picks. At 6 you can then add a Dline piece to complement Hutch (or trade back if right offer is there) and go BPA approach at 18.
To me, the most important prospect to the Lions draft is Anthony Richardson. Not because they will draft him but because you want him in the Top 5 so maybe Will Anderson or Jalen Carter drop to them at 5. The other benefit of him blowing up would be trading back to 7 (Raiders) or 9 (Panthers) if he doesn't go in the top 5. Anderson and Carter are the only D-lineman I would take. Murphy, Bresee, or Wilson don't necessarily upgrade the unit. I would feel better taking the top CB at 9 and getting a 2nd round pick for your trouble.
At 18 if you have a CB already in the boat, consider BPA.

I think the exit is more frustrating to me with all of the talk of this being just the beginning. I also suspected if the exit to the NFL was going to occur, it would have been a far more sexier destination than Minnesota so I feel now exit to NFL would have occurred sooner had there been success sooner.

A friend of mine asked me how many MAC schools were in bowl games. He knew the answer but I guessed 4. The correct answer is 8! Only 4 MAC schools didn't make bowl games. Seems to me there might be too many bowl games ha ha. I remember a time where only 1-2 MAC schools made it and now everyone gets a bowl game. You get a bowl game and you get a bowl game!
Many felt that 2018 class was the worst of Harbaugh's tenure and look at how many of those guys are leaders / contributors now. Star gazing is certainly a thing but I trust coaches evaluations of players over tools like Mike Farrell.
Hope we can get a guy like Sabb and one of Goodwin/Conerly for the o-line this year to close out 2022. 2023 should be a very strong class with the momentum this year's run will have!

I believe in order for Carter or Anderson to be available at 6, 2 of the following 3 things need to happen:
1) Bears need to drop out of top 6 to make sure they don't take one of those 2.
2) Cardinals need to be that team that takes the OL.
3) Seahawks take Richardson

1) Give me a reputable home and home with a top tier team.
2) Purely home game every year versus the likes of Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Pitt, Missouri, BC, etc.
3) Purely home game every year against in-state MAC school.
