Probably too much to ask for a Muppets post. This is a culmination of decades of sustained excellence. Michigan Debate has a deep alumni base (many of whom are MGoBlog readers), endowments, scholarships and the largest summer workshop for aspring high school students in the country. Because of this, UM Debate is instrumental in attracting some of the best students to Ann Arbor. Congrats to Kelly and Ben, Coach Kall and the entire staff.
I mean….do you really care what they think? They haven’t won much of anything ever. They consider us a rival because no one better than Northwestern thinks of them as a rival. It’s just misplaced hate because they feel more relevant disliking someone worth disliking. I live in Chicago and hear their silliness all the time but it’s tame. All in all, I find them to be somewhere between harmless and delusional, but more the former than the latter. Most of them aren’t even aware that if it wasn’t for a screwy admissions process, Shannon would be in Ann Arbor. If they can’t read scoreboards from the last 5 decades, that’s on them.
Knocked it out of the park. Hope that you don't just do Football. I trust your takes on Hockey, Softball, Baseball and Basketball. With Craig "institutional knowledge" and your, well....knowledge, this is going to be a fun read.
Alex, I think you have the correct overall take on the game and the vibe of the season in general. The "not being able to defend against the QB run" lasted until final season of Carr era (to wit: App State/Oregon Games). I watched this game while away on business in Huntsville, Alabama in a sports bar filled with literal rocket scientists many of whom were fellow alum. We outnumbered the Auburn fans and that bar erupted at Braylon TD #2. Looking forward to more of these and Craig dragging you down other rabbit holes as well.
this does not make me happy. even when I don't have time to eat there, I always try and grab a loaf of raisin bread to go whenever I am in A2. this is an institution that has many happy memories for me.
Your issue with having a new women's sport that creates yet another reason for exceptional athletes to attend a world-class university while simultaneously keeping us ahead of the curve on gender equity is what exactly? You don't want to watch it and it will be a minor drain on the massive football television revenue that becomes part of Title IX anyway? Make your argument better.
It was long but held my attention. Gripping story I knew nothing about. Any connections with more recent issues at PSU were contrived and probably a result of ESPN editors trying to goose its views. PSU clearly wanted nothing to do with this guy.
Agree that Karsch doesn't have the voice for PBP, though I really do like him. Jansen a good fit. Really enjoyed the Devin Gardner experience on Fox but he might be the wrong fit for the radio broadcast.
I was always a fan and the 1986 UM/OSU Game (which I only heard on the radio) was probably the starting point. But my Junior Year of HS someone got tickets to the GLI and, even though I was forced to sit with a bunch of Michigan Tech people, the UM Fans were impressive with their organized cheers and seemed an enthusiastic/educated fan base which was more to my taste. I was sold.
What makes me laugh is that Sparty fans are the last people in Fandon who think the hire was a joke and Juwan is a bad hire who will fail Even Mike Valenti has epically walked back that ridiculous take.

Vida was a regular fixture when I lived in Napa. Hilarious, gracious, always fun to talk baseball. Rest in peace.
I read this post and to be fair to RCMB posters, many of them thought this was pretty tiresome too.
Illinois.
DG's intimate knowledge of Coming to America was most impressive to me
RIP Alex Hot Take due to what Brian prophesized as "Keystone Cops"
just don't use it in John U Bacon class

Van Pelt stealing LeBron's throne and then blowing him off. Never gets old.
Always nice that someone shouts out Schneids. Loved that guy.
The guy from CMU might be a good fit too.
Track is essentially the difference. We just need a more nationally competitive track team.
the rich get richer
Brutal. Just brutal.
no words to describe that call. even the ESPN guys are blown away

Great in depth commentary and fun podcast. Can you do this for baseball and softball?
Here here. Worked for UM Baseball back in the day and he was always a welcome presence after he retired. Class.
Seth!! Muppets are not finite. Show the Hockey Team some love.
Big fan of Aventura. Relatively new. Catalonian/Spanish. Great food. Great wine list. Gin and Tonics the size of a fish bowl.

Didnt Tree Rollins do this for the Orlando Magic? Someone check my math

The two names I heard UM coaches mention but without a specific time or qualification were Chuck Winters and Antonio Bass
