Who’s Pumped For Wednesday? And your prediction.
I am!! I can’t wait to see the guys ball out against the Tide.
Slow day today on the board I see, so what’s your prediction. I say Michigan 34-27. I have a feeling Michigan is going to want it more. We are going to be loaded next year with all these underclassmen coming back hopefully. I wish we had an insider that could tell us some more details. I just can’t wait to watch these guys play again. Osu paid all that money and they’re home sitting on their asses. So have fun watching Michigan play, you pricks. Go Blue!!

41-14, 'Bama.
They're just too good in the trenches.
December 30th, 2019 at 4:02 PM ^
Just to illustrate your point
December 30th, 2019 at 4:08 PM ^
I'm not sure I've ever seen that level of player across the entire line.
December 30th, 2019 at 4:52 PM ^
My prediction is that this game is going to look reminiscent of the game against Bama in 2012. I believe the score of that game was 42-14..some something like that. Unfortunately.
December 30th, 2019 at 5:11 PM ^
Fucking hurts. I remember us recruiting two of those guys hard.
December 30th, 2019 at 7:09 PM ^
Sadly, yep. Wish I could share MK’s optimism but facts are stubborn things.
How do you stop Alabama with no DT depth?
You don’t
December 30th, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
Michigan is gonna get curb stomped. Just like the OSU game. The undersized D line will get abused all day and the press man will be exploited as well. Same ol same ol for Michigan in a bowl game.
52-13 Bama
December 30th, 2019 at 3:31 PM ^
Bama win. 66-17
December 30th, 2019 at 3:32 PM ^
I'm excited and optimistic. It's pretty clear that OSU is a really really good team this year and they played their best game against us - which is pretty typical.
I think Michigan looks better against Alabama than we did against OSU, but I still think we lose - with the too small interior DL losing us the game, which seems to be the story of the season.Who knows, maybe we light them up on offense and win a high scoring game?
Either way, I'll be watching and hoping for a good outcome.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:32 PM ^
Bama by 18
December 30th, 2019 at 3:33 PM ^
45-17 like in 2001 vs a jilted Vols team.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:34 PM ^
So, what is the adjustment to at least slow down their run game? 8 in the box? Cover 0? (not like that's new)
December 30th, 2019 at 3:34 PM ^
I don’t get my hopes up with Michigan football anymore. We all know how that turns out. A lot to a little.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
Question for the board. How big of a loss before a staff shakeup? 10? 20? 25? At what point does Don Brown have to go? And if Michigan wins, what does this say about the future of this program?
December 30th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
Someone eluded a month or so ago that a couple members of the staff will be leaving after this year. I don't know if that counts as a major shake-up to you, or not. I'd be surprised if Harbaugh cans Don Brown.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:44 PM ^
I didn’t hear any of that, thanks for sharing. I guess we will all wait and see.
December 30th, 2019 at 4:23 PM ^
*alluded
December 30th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
I don't know what the number is, but if they do what OSU did to us, I want some butts. Whichever one is most responsible, and one more, just to send a message.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
If Alabama scores 50+ before calling off the dogs, I think the calls for getting rid of Brown are going to become deafening. He was brought here to at least slow down these sorts of teams. If he can't, as in the OSU game, what's the point?
December 30th, 2019 at 3:53 PM ^
Lombardi couldn't slow down Alabama's run game with our smallish, depleted D-line. That is the fault of recruiting and transfers.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:55 PM ^
Defensive recruiting AND retention falls 100% on Brown. He's been here long enough to obviate that excuse.
December 30th, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
I agree to a degree, but I do not fault his schemes.
December 30th, 2019 at 4:11 PM ^
His schemes this season, and more or less in general, appear to be really good. He did what he could with what he had - the problem is what he had.
December 30th, 2019 at 7:05 PM ^
I’ve said it a thousand times: recruiting is part of coaching.
December 30th, 2019 at 8:24 PM ^
And now, with the transfer portal, retention is as well.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:59 PM ^
I get that, and it's a fair point. I also have to ask who would UM hire to replace him if he did get let go?
December 30th, 2019 at 4:07 PM ^
Honestly, I'm a football fan and a professor not a D1 HC so I don't know. I do know that us not knowing isn't a good reason for Harbaugh to keep him around if he's not cutting it. Harbaugh generally makes good personnel choices (save the disaster duo of Drevno and Pep), so I'm pretty sure that whoever eventually replaces Brown will be an improvement.
Regardless of his coaching abilities, he does seem to be a pretty good recruiter:

December 30th, 2019 at 4:23 PM ^
I think talent is a really important piece of the puzzle. That said go get Randy Shannon.
December 30th, 2019 at 4:51 PM ^
You mean the guy who got lit up by Pep Hamilton that had even more talent than UM D has now? Nah, I'll stick with Brown over him any day.
December 30th, 2019 at 7:33 PM ^
Charlie strong? Gene chizik? Rex Ryan (lol)? Chris Partridge co-coordinating? Just throwing out names of guys who have had success to get a conversation going. The reason I say Partridge (yes, I know about the board's reticence because of his lack of experience) is two-fold. 1: Because he's younger and therefore perhaps less stubborn and set in his ways. And 2: Because as far as recruiting goes I feel it's a must to keep him on staff so promote him.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
I’m looking forward to it. Looking at it objectively the SEC west and B1G East divisions are the two best in college football. Auburn and Michigan have essentially been the same caliber of team since 2015, same records this year. I think Ohio State is better than Alabama this year and so I think considering all of that it should actually be a competitive game which will require some good juju to pull out a W.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:37 PM ^
I hope that I am wrong but my prediction is best summed up by Mr. T (playing the role of Alabama):
December 30th, 2019 at 3:38 PM ^
I'm more excited to get the season over with so we can get back into pre-season hype on individuals that won't play next season.
Bama - 48
Michigan - 20
December 30th, 2019 at 3:38 PM ^
I'm not pumped. My prediction is pain.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:38 PM ^
51-17 Bama.
That OL vs our DL says it all
December 30th, 2019 at 3:39 PM ^
Right now I’m excited and my heart says why not we can win. But my head says Bama will pull away and beat us bad something like 49-27
December 30th, 2019 at 3:40 PM ^
We are going to lose this game, but I think it might be close right up until the end. The results depend entirely on which Michigan team shows up.
December 30th, 2019 at 7:09 PM ^
No it’s which Alabama shows up. We don’t have the players to stop bama if they show up and play well. A motivated bama is putting up 40+ points and a perfect defensive outing from Michigan isn’t preventing that.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:41 PM ^
OK, I think Bama is better than OSU. So, my head thinks Michigan loses by at least 20. My heart tells me that Michigan will play Bama tough...All we can hope is Bama is disinterested in this game.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:43 PM ^
Apathetic would probably best describe where I'm at. I dont even get butterflies before big games anymore. I'm not sure if I miss those days or not
December 30th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Same. Big difference pregame Ohio 2019 vs 2018. At no point this year was I nervous because I had almost no faith.
December 30th, 2019 at 4:50 PM ^
I am absolutely with you here. We've been pre-sold too highly year in and year out, on a lower-than-advertised quality of football product. I respect these guy's desire for the sport. But in reality, we all are now fully aware of what this entire team and staff are capable (or not) of. No reason to ever expect UoM football to dominate any relevant competition for the foreseeable future. Bama wins 52-34
I'd love to wrong here
December 30th, 2019 at 4:55 PM ^
Agree. That has been the only good thing about Michigan football the last 20 years, I'm not invested anymore. If they win, awesome. If they lose, eh so what I'm use to it.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:45 PM ^
I am always excited to see Michigan football. But I fear that excitement will wane rather quickly in a game that will be decided by halftime. 49-20 Bama.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:48 PM ^
Who’s Pumped For Wednesday?
I mean, not really, but I'm still going to be cheering on the Maize 'n Blue.
Score: 52 - 28 'Bama rolls. They have 300+ yds rushing, 230+ yds passing.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
Michigan 35 - Bama 34. Duh.
December 30th, 2019 at 3:52 PM ^
Also, 41-14 is a likely score bc this defensive line is more Hoke era than the line in 1999.
