Lots of folks here wishing Harbaugh were gone as of April, 2021.  40-3 since then with three B1G championships, 3-0 against OSU and a national championship.

Your take on Harbaugh…

Your take on Harbaugh interviewing/being interested in other jobs is correct and reasonable.  I hope that’s sarcasm about CA taxes though.

Is California state income tax higher than in most other states?  Yes. On a level that Harbaugh (or anyone) shouldn’t  take a job here?  That’s ludicrous.

No disrespect to Metallica…

No disrespect to Metallica but, there is definitely a band with a better ‘first five albums’: Led Zeppelin.

Led Zeppelin I, II, III, (IV) and Houses of the Holy are pretty tough to beat for a five album run.

Speaking of Houses of the Holy, I like STP’s cover of “Dancing Days” quite a bit.

I live close to the Rose Bowl.  It was 100+ degrees during the game.  UCLA has plenty of barriers to good attendance but that was probably the biggest one yesterday.

I also lived in Adams in West Quad (fourth floor) in the early 00's.  Spent freshman year there and the location is unbeatable.

I later spent a few years as a RA in Couzens and that was great too.  Location was almost as good for Central Campus and it was a short bus ride up to North Campus.  The athletic field and CCRB (if it is still called that) being right there were additional bonuses.

I was at App St game as well in the opposite end zone.  Not a great time.  The next game I went to was the Toledo game the following season…. I thought I was bad luck for a while.

^ This.  We may not think much of MSU and their future with our maize tinted glasses but 10-2 is a good year and they were picked to be last in the BIG East.

If you told Michigan fans before the beginning of the season that the team's record would be 10-2 at the end of the season, not a single person would turn that down.

I don't know if Mel is going to be a good coach in the long term but we should tip our caps to the job he has done this year even if we think Harbaugh is better.

How about “Muck”?

So as far back as 2019 then?

I'm not saying that I've been thrilled with Harbaugh's tenure but, prior to 2020, the floor was 8 wins for Harbaugh's teams at Michigan.  That lone 8 win season came with a third string QB playing a significant portion of that season.

Harbaugh's regular season average at Michigan prior to 2020 is actually 9.2 wins.   I'm not saying I expect that next year and the team absolutely looked BAD for a good chunk of 2020.  However, I'm willing to give everyone a pass on 2020 pending results from 2021.  It's been a weird year in all regards.

Not beating OSU has been brutal and the bowl record isn't good but I don't think it is objective to call the Harbaugh era bad.  Less than expectations for sure but those expectations were incredibly high.

I hope that I am wrong but my prediction is best summed up by Mr. T (playing the role of Alabama):

It’s a skin graft from an accident he suffered as a child.  Mocking someone  for something like that is a bad look.

My condolences to those here…

My condolences to those here (and elsewhere) who were affected by this terrible day.

I had just started my freshman year at Michigan and was headed to the shower in West Quad (4th floor Adams) when one of my hall mates said that a plane had crashed into the WTC.  It didn't even enter my mind that it could've been anything but an accident with a Cessna or similarly small plane.  When I got back to my room, my roommate and I watched the news coverage and I believe we watched the second plane hit live... and then the collapse of the towers later.  My girlfriend and many of our friends lived in Bursley so our room became a gathering place for the day.  My girlfriend's dad was a pilot for Northwest and she was in a panic as she had a hard time getting in touch with him (I don't believe he had a flight that day but she wasn't certain at the time).  I don't get choked up about too much but re-watching some of the news footage and hearing some of the last calls from people in the planes and in the towers was really tough.  I can't imagine being in that position or getting that call.

Oh, man.  I am also in

Oh, man.  I am also in California and have a four month old.  Luckily, he got his scream fest in earlier in the week and was pretty good last night.

I noticed the screaming fan a bit but wasn't overly bothered by it.  Slightly annoying.  I recall there being a (MSU?) fan consistently screaming through a game last year... ugh.  I guess I admire their spirit.

Not to drag this further off

Not to drag this further off topic but I have made a few LA-2a's... parts aren't cheap though.  Getting the colors right on a winged helmet panel would be tough.

I had a similar thought while

I had a similar thought while listening to the last round table although I don't think it is that big of a deal.  It is likely that there is a compressor already in the signal chain.  However, I occassionally make compressors as a hobby and was thinking that it would be cool to make one for MGoBlog audio purposes that had a maize and blue front panel.  Custom one-offs aren't terribly cheap and it would probably be $300-350 in parts (mostly the enclosure and front panel engraving) but I'd be happy to make one if the parts-costs were crowd-sourced by the blog.  Commerically available ones are much more cost effective though... and there's probably one in the room already.
