What change will be made on the staff to make room for Chris Partridge?

Josh Henschke "can confirm" that Chris Partridge is going to be hired onto the coaching staff at Michigan. But he says we are waiting for the move that makes room for him:

So what will the move be? Jay Harbaugh from off the field to important office duties? I seem to recall the special teams were great under Chris Partridge. I personally like George Helow a lot. I wouldn't want him off the staff---as so many have speculated will happen.

What do you think will happen? What's going to be the other shoe to drop?

Twitter is where almost all sports news is broke now. It was exclusively ESPN at one time. Then there was Fox and Yahoo sports, and some others. But now it's almost all done on twitter. And when other places on the internet break the story, or you see it on tv, they show the tweet, or give the name of the person from the tweet, where the story was broke.

I highly doubt Jay is going into an office. If he's not coaching something here, he'll be coaching somewhere else. Jay gets the Jimmies and the Joe's, so for me, it's goodbye Helow if we have to choose. Plus, Jay does a damn good job coaching too.

I could absolutely see Jay moving on to the NFL. He is too good for us to have him as long as we have in various roles. He is going to get a shot to move up the ladder soon enough.  In many ways this would be the best possible scenario, in that no one is being forced out. Although I am sure UM will miss him being on staff whenever that time comes.

Specific to Helow, I am not sure we have enough data on him yet to whether he is a good coach or not. I leave it to the people who know the X's and O's better than I do, but it seems he turned Barrett from a Viper into a legit linebacker and most of the linebacker faults (at least on the UFRs) seemed to be chalked up to youth, not coaching.

I don't want one of our best coaches and recruiters relieved of those duties.

Jay is one of the best recruiters on the team. It would be very disappointing to see him in an office and not be able to recruit off campus. Not to mention his coaching.

Full disclosure.  I’m basically a dumb-ass alumn that used to have connections into the Athletic Department back in the mid 90’s but doesn’t really have them anymore.

All that being said in the past two years I’ve gone from “whatever we do is probably wrong” to “whatever we do is probably right”.

So I endorse whatever we end up doing.

"I personally like George Helow a lot. I wouldn't want him off the staff"

Any detailed reason for this?  I have no info either way, just interested in your take?
