That pass was a thing of…

That pass was a thing of beauty. The difficulty to pull that off at speed with a guy on, and to put it on the tape. Freaking unbelievable

I agree. Its close and could…

I agree. Its close and could be high, but there was no camera angle that showed for sure it was high. That penalty call though. Unless they didn't show the hook, I didn't see it on the replay they did show.

How? It was tipped point…

How? It was tipped point blank. There's zero chance of reacting to a change in direction that close. Only hope is it hits you.

Michigan never seems to…

Michigan never seems to recruit "that" goalie. One that a team can put on his back. Almost always they have the firepower to outscore any one, or a pretty good defense, but not a goalie who can steal the show night in and night out. I'm not saying they've never had it, but it seems to be rare.

I highly doubt they will…

I highly doubt they will find a top tier goalie even though the price to pickup a goalie usually isn't that high. He won't trade for a rental either. I'd like to see an upgrade at D. A top 3/4 dman would be fantastic. Rumors are that they are listening to offers on some of the current dman. I believe Berggren has a good possibility to be moved too. He supposedly rejected a contract offer from the Wings, so it wouldn't surprise me to see him moved for a non rental piece.

I try not to remember those…

I try not to remember those dark times too much. But you had some good dudes at Michigan in those times. Martavious Odoms and Vincent Smith with the #EATING gardens in Pahokee. Denard. I believe Mr. Odoms and Mr. Smith posted here in those times as well. I'm know I'm missing a bunch, but it's good to see some in that group continue in football and succeed.

It gaveth last season. The…

It gaveth last season. The transfer portal haul from last year was fantastic with some major contributors. Some in that class will probably be major contributors this season as well. I fully expect some transfer portal pieces to come this spring as well, once the portal has opened back up to everyone.

One of the biggest downfalls to making a run is going to be the lack of time at recruiting the portal. Do you recruit while trying to win it all, or do you put everything into winning the whole damn thing? I'll go with option 2. Maybe one of the reasons for them hiring a GM is for this exact reason.

Don't throw stones in glass…

Don't throw stones in glass houses. Best to just watch and see on this one.

I don't disagree. He…

I don't disagree. He probably still gets drafted. I thought his pass catching was under appreciated, especially with Loveland lining up on the other side. The transfer portal haul from last year was a legit class.

Unless Barner has a bad…

Unless Barner has a bad showing at the combine, he's getting drafted.

I miss this.

I miss this.

We won't know until the…

We won't know until the spring portal season who leaves from there. I'd be surprised if at least 1 QB didn't portal out.

There's always going to be…

There's always going to be under the table payments whether they unionize or not.  NIL deals will be endorsement deals. But it will most definitely help the portal by locking them into contracts. Whether it be a 2 year or 4 year or whatever, they will be at X school for this long without having to re-recruit your current roster every year. If the coach leaves, oh well, your hear until your contract is up. Maybe it waters down the money some so you don't get as much under the table payments, maybe it doesn't. But it will put some structure in place. We're headed for NFL lite, whether anyone likes it or not.

Was going to say the same…

Was going to say the same thing about Hart. Lots of people want him at OC, which he has never been. I'd rather see Jay in that position before Mike. IMO, Jay would be better to keep then Mike. Jay doesn't get enough credit for how well he has coached whatever position he coaches in that particular year, or how well he has recruited. Mike is still in the prove it stage for me.

There's an article in the SI…

There's an article in the SI national championship magazine about NIL at Michigan that some people need to read. There's quotes in there from Corum and Keegan about NIL at Michigan. It tells you everything you need to know about the mindset inside that locker room in regards to it and how they believe it should work. And it's not paying recruits before they even play a snap. Will that change now?, I don't know. Is it sustainable? That will remain to be seen.

I forsee at some point the players being unionized with some sort of revenue sharing. It's the only way to stop the tampering and paying recruits to come to X school. The current model isn't sustainable and the Supreme Court isn't in the NCAAs pocket.

Speaking of recruiting, national signing day is just less then two weeks away any word on Gatlin Bair? I believe he received a 5th star in the rankings, but haven't really heard anything in a bit.

I don't believe for a second…

I don't believe for a second that Warde being there wasn't part of the problem. But I also don't believe Jim left just because of Warde. Warde is Ryan Day. He was born on 3rd. He inherited a bunch of A+ coaches, who are now mostly all gone, if not all gone. I don't blame him for firing Mel, but the lead up to it was super clumsy. In reality, he's not that great of an AD

Was just getting ready to…

Was just getting ready to say the same thing. If wants to go, thats fine. He accomplished the goal at Michigan. I'll never forget that. But the longer it takes, the more it'll hurt Michigan. Now, I know how long it takes isn't in his control as far as the hiring process. But if it's going to happen, it needs to. Second interviews happening next week, so hopefully its done and over with in the next week.

The Chargers seem like the only option even though Atlanta is interviewing him again. But you'd have to think Belichick(sp) is the front runner there. But if I'm the Chargers, I'm leaning towards the younger coach in Vrabel. I don't believe he's been anywhere else as far as interviews go, but there are only so many spots available and I'd guess Mike McDonald is going to be a head coach at one of them.

There's a simple way to fix…

There's a simple way to fix this and the disaster that is the NIL landscape today. Share the damn revenue and have them sign contracts. 2 year, 4 year, whatever.

Didn't an FSU assistant…

Didn't an FSU assistant coach just get a 2 year show clause and is still going to be coaching at FSU?

Yup, German Green. Pretty…

Yup, German Green. Pretty sure he was the one who got the first Gatorade bath that missed Harbaugh. His brother was here as well. German was a 6th year player I think.

Nugent and German Green have…

Nugent and German Green have officially declared as well.

They've said more then once…

They've said more then once that it'll be aired on BTN.

I don't disagree with Chuck…

I don't disagree with Chuck here. I may be wrong, but Henderson seems like he's always banged up, so the the transfer will take some of the carries off of him. Egbuka hasn't been the guy, depending if Howard can get him the ball, he could improve his draft stock. If I was Burke, I'd probably go to the league. But with Burke,  JT, Sawyer and Ransom coming back, they will need to be not only leaders of the defense, but the team.

I'm sure NIL helped make their decision to come back a little easier, but I'd have to think motivation to  come back for a chance to beat Michigan, to probably make a playoff no matter the result of The Game, and possibly win the ship helped as well

I don't know off hand if any of them are 5th year seniors or not, but I'm pretty most of them are juniors returning for their senior seasons. Running back usually is the position that there is concern with wear and tear on the body. But again, I'm not really surprised Henderson is coming back. Can't fault them for returning if thats what they truly want.

Your post wasn't up when I replied, but I just posted the same thing about the way he said touchdown michigan.

I miss Beckman. Something…

I miss Beckman. Something about the way he would say "TOUCHDOWN MICHIGAN" sticks with me to this day. He and Brandstatter were the best to me.

With 10 minutes left last…

With 10 minutes left last night, score 20-13, I realized just how much I wanted this. Sitting on the edge of my couch, screaming at the TV all night, I wanted it badly. The feeling/emotion inside of me over a football game. I don't know how to explain it. I just wanted it in a sick way. I never felt comfortable until Mikey almost took it to the house. I'm only 40, but I told my wife, this may never happen in our lifetime again. She kinda questioned me on that, but with the college football landscape changing, I'm not taking this for granted. Go Blue! Let's not wait 26 years to do it again.

I'm taking Michigan -7.

I'm taking Michigan -7.

This is the perfect time to…

This is the perfect time to just do what they did all season. Run the damn ball down their throat. Keep Penix on the sideline. Don't go full 2nd half of Penn St, but run the fn ball. Get the lead and have clock eating drives like the last drive in The Game.

I laughed...I may be 40, but…

I laughed...I may be 40, but I'm still a teenager

Harbaugh wants a certain…

Harbaugh wants a certain type of player. He's built a culture. He wants a kid that wants to play for Michigan, not some kid who is looking for the immediate bag. They'll get their bag once they get to campus and put in some work.

A&M and Miami have went the other way and it hasn't worked out so well for them. I don't know if it's sustainable long term or not, but it's working now. I don't see the philosophy changing as long as Harbaugh is here either. I don't necessarily think it should either. You get one or two guys in there that are just about themselves, the whole dynamic inside the locker room can change. Call it a cancer if you will.

The TE that just entered the portal from Miami. He went there for the bag. I don't know if he regrets his decision or not, but I bet he has thought about it. Maybe the bag was big enough where results didn't matter. Each players situation is different. If I was 18 and being offered a bag, I'd have to consider it. No matter which team you rooted for as a kid. It's a business decision now. If 18 year old you had the option, I don't believe for a second that you wouldn't consider the upfront bag.

He hasn't officially entered the portal.

This is a legitimate…

This is a legitimate question to ask. Especially with USC, UCLA, Washington and Oregon going to the B1G and OU & Texas going to the SEC. Theres no incentive playing these games. The conference schedule is going to be enough. The extra W isn't worth the risk of an extra L. Now, I'm not saying have a non conf schedule like the did this year, but schedule a low end P5 non conference opponent, a regional Mac-ish opponent or something along those lines. No need to go out and schedule these high end opponents because it's not going to help.

If the opponent was a Pac12…

If the opponent was a Pac12 team, you have to give not going to the west coast a thought. Tradition be damned, its about the best route to a championship.
