In preparation for the podcast dropping tomorrow, post your hottest takes from The Game yesterday.

I’ll go first.

Ryan Day doubled down on his strategy of getting the ball back by letting Donovan Edwards run 75 and 85 yards for touchdowns.

Apparently the jump pass requires a short guy to make it happen. JJ said the call has been on the call sheet since tast year's Ohio State game. It was going to be a throw near the goal line but they dialed it up only after Mullings had gotten a rushing attempt in the first half. Otherwise, Blake was supposed to be the passer.

This Ohio State staff can't identify defensive talent and instead just takes the highest rated guys to placate their quasi-SEC fan base.  Their defense gets worse and worse under Day until he's fired next year or the year after.

OSU has been squandering high-end talent for several years. It's getting worse.

I mean, really:

And, look closely. Notice that the increments as you step up from 16 (UNC) to 6 (Texas) aren't as big as the one between 6 and 5 (Clemson). There's another significant hop from 4 (A&M) to 3 (OSU).

Here's OSU's 5-4-3-star breakdown: 14-51-17

Michigan's: 3-41-41

Once again, nobody should rely wholly on recruiting rankings to measure team talent, but they mean something.

Unfortunately if you look at the top future players on our team right now you do see how much recruiting still matters.

Will Johnson will be the core of our secondary, JJ the core of our offense, and Donovan (who i thought was 5 but guess just highly rated 4) all will be the most talented players on our team by a mile. No coincidence that this is basically a 100% hit rate on 5-stars being starters so lets hope this is just the beginning of that uptick with getting more national (and definitely Ohio) players

Hell even Okie is flashing as one of the most important D Line pieces next year

Can we please stop over rating these Ohio players.  If we just get 5 kids from Detroit area we will be fine.  Detroit is fifth in NFL players output.   How would the secondary look with Kalen King  and Jalen Reed back there with Will Johnson and Page.  If we get the 4 stars from here, we shouldn't have to worry about their 3 stars.
