Walter Nolen Top 3: No Michigan

UM not included on Nolen’s Top 3.  No surprise unless your name is Sam Webb.

So UM was not in his top 3 three weeks ago and three weeks later UM is still not in his top 3?

Damn. Next thing you're gonna tell me is that Keith Jackson is STILL dead. FML.

I guess this is a good sign. It does show that his final three is anything but a final three. If someone gets dropped and someone else gets added every few weeks, then you really don’t want to make this list until late October at the earliest.

He's ain't coming to Michigan but it's funny watching his top 3 apparently bounce around.  At one point I read he was definitely going to Florida (they aren't in his top 3 anymore).  A&M seems like the one consistent name in the list (Tennessee feels like home state loyalty), so I guess they're the leader in the clubhouse?

He'll end up at Bama or Clemson during one of those "amazing" $igning day flips.

UGA, LSU and A&M will probably be in the picture as well...playing SEC football and willing to pay the going rate for this high quality a prospect.

Looks like he's staying south so O$U probably not in the picture for now.

TAMU missed the Top 5, Tennessee missed the Top 8, and Georgia missed the first Top 3. This has been a fairly wild recruitment so far so who knows how it will end up. Nolen still plans on visiting Michigan at least once so we will get a chance to impress him. I doubt we pull this one off (it would seemingly require an excellent season from us, a superior NIL pitch, and a massive increase in the perception of Shaun Nua), but we'll certainly go down swinging.

Could happen, absolutely.  I'm just looking at the semi-consistent position of A&M in the top 3 recently.  I don't think people should put much stock into any of these lists but A&M does have the profile of a team that winds up signing a guy like Nolen moreso than, say, Tennessee.

I assume he'll wait until basically signing day.  I just don't think UM is really in the running right now and people should probably not hang around watching his various Instagram posts.

Love how Sam Webb repeatedly said the most likely scenario was Michigan not getting Nolen and people think they're dunking on Sam because UM isn't listed in the dude's top 3.

This is what Sam said on Aug 12th after Nolen released his first top 3. Everyone was ready to write Nolen off but Sam said "not so fast".

The race for five-star DL Walter Nolen is far from over

Everybody includes the coaches at Michigan. After receiving assurances they were still alive and well in the race, they went about finalizing Nolen’s next visit. Those will be Michigan visits three and four for Nolen, providing ample opportunity to work its way back up a list that just saw Texas A&M move suddenly into his top three after being absent from his top five prior to that.
