I wouldn't come here if I were him, either. Granted, MacDonald has the opportunity this year to prove to elite defensive players that they should give Michigan a look, but Michigan really isn't in a place, as a program, where it deserves the benefit of the doubt with these kinds of players.
I wouldn't go to Tennessee either, as they're an even bigger mess than Michigan is. But playing in what is essentially his own backyard may be really important to him. UGA and especially A&M can't offer that.

One advantage Tennessee has right now—at least relative to Michigan—is that they have a brand-new coach, Josh Heupel, who doesn't have the stink of failing to live up to high expectations like Harbaugh currently does.
Of course, if Tennessee has a terrible 2021 season, the perception of Heupel will change.
