Go to your happy place Urbs.

You on the back of a majestic white steed galloping along the shoreline at sunset, riding off toward the horizon with your arms tightly wrapped around Timmy T.

what an idiot... if those stories are true, I am not sure how he ever coaches again...not at a legitimate school at least...

I don't even think he'll be able to get an analyst's job for at least a couple of years. He going to need some serious PR work to rehabilitate his image.

I thought folks who wanted to fire Harbaugh ended up about as wrong as you can be.

But their measuring stick for comparison just totally imploded.  Not just wheels coming off, but giant fireball, with wheels rocketing through the air and engine cartwheeling down the track.

*Now* they have ended up about as wrong as you can be.

Urban is certainly a great coach (CFB), especially if all you care about is wins, but in my book Harbaugh >>> Meyer

Edit: Hadn't seen the other news about kicking his kicker...now, its not even close. Harbaugh every day.  I'm not even sure I'd still consider him a great coach without adding some serious context.

I just don't know what Urban was honestly expecting when he took this job.  He is a guy that clearly could not handle losing, and the Jags were likely going to lose a lot of games coming off a 1 win season with a rookie QB and a first year nfl head coach.  The way this season is going for the Jags, record wise, was a very likely outcome.  For him not to be prepared for that is just crazy.  The losing is one thing, but how poorly he has handled it is another and I think that is absolutely why he is being fired like this mid-season.  Just crazy he totally lost control like this over something he very easily could have seen coming.

Considering Urban was losing his shit when losing pre-season exhibition games, and then making comments to the Bronco’s head coach about how he’s amazed at how he feels like he has to prepare for Bama week in and week out; I would say Meyer thought he could do the same bullshit he’s done in the college game as usual and win pretty easy, as long as he got his QB Trevor Lawrence. Haha, the man’s ego is literally exploding in front of him, and he deserves everything coming at him right now.

All that said, I am a fan of true inner healing, even in the humans with the worst of actions and intentions. I hope Meyer humbles himself deeply and comes out a changed man and truly restored by the Grace of the Almighty one day. However I will admit it’s exceptionally hard to like Urban Meyer. Easy to like Tiger Woods even when he’s in the worst of sins and root for his restoration, hard to ever root for Urban.

It might be a few eternity’s before any angels pick up a ticket to try to fix that heart. Hes an epic jerk On just about every level you can think of.

He is an object lesson in the failures of pride, hypocrisy, immorality and hubris. Everybody suffers from these at least a little bit, but he might be king of the . Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.

A pretty good list of transgressions, starting with Iowa's Chris Doyle and ending with roughing the kicker:

"He bungled things from the start, beginning with the hiring/resignation of director of sports performance Chris Doyle, who was accused of making racist remarks and bullying Black players while at Iowa.

"The league fined Meyer and the Jaguars for having improper contact practices in OTAs ... he signed Tim Tebow to play tight end ... he had Lawrence and Gardner Minshew alternate first-team reps during training camp, only to trade Minshew ... the viral videos of him in a bar with a woman that wasn't his wife ... the talking in circles about the benching of running back James Robinson ... not knowing which players are on the field ... the reports of tension with his assistant coaches ... another report of receiver Marvin Jones Jr. walking out of the facility and yelling at Meyer because he was unhappy with something Meyer said about the receivers."

Bo Harbaugh

He'll be at a middling SEC team next...only conference with "schools" that can take him at this point. FSU is also a very possible destination.

LSU (not middling obviously) probably would have worked, but with that filled and most the high profile jobs seemingly stable, the options look like Auburn, Tennessee, Miss ST, Ole Miss (If Kiffin moves on).

Some have mentioned Texas, and yes, football is everything there and they are joining the SEC, but UT Austin a serious academic institution, so not sue they can bet on Urban after all this.

He's toxic right now and will be easy to negatively recruit against in any other conference where teams and parents actually give a shit how the student athletes are treated.

Cincinnati is his alma mater, after all.

If Fickle goes anywhere, they'd take him in a heartbeat, past missteps be damned. And with the Bearcats moving up to the Big 12, it'll be a P5 program without crazy expectations, but they could do some damage to Ohio State's recruiting, too. One can hope...
