University and Trusted Agents taking @Tonnorscalions seriously?

Submitted by FlexUM on November 22nd, 2023 at 8:07 AM

It's 8am and it's quiet here so figured after some stalking on x I'd post this for discussion...

Mods- Do with this as you wish...but I think there are some notable items for discussion. I will not post screenshots out of respect for not blatantly adding fuel to rumors. People can dig as much as they wish. Color me more than skeptical. But...here are some things to consider....

Intriguing reasons to be intrigued...

  • His following has gone from 20 people to ~5,300 in 48 hours.
  • People we generally trust like Hole, Balas, Scott Bell etc follow him
  • Others with big followings follow him ie "a name I cannot mention with 3m followers"
  • Michigan insider following and Sam insinuated it's a "trusted person"
  • My contact on the medical staff is saying there is "real discussion about this account"
  • Maybe the most important...Sarah Hubbard, Jordan Acker and other UM regents seem to be following. I find that odd if this is just a parody bull**** account.
  • He is starting to post things that loosely connect the dots, verse just random claims
  • It was mentioned on osu radio today and it was somewhat taken seriously...or more of that "I'm kind of joking but concerned" type of talk.

Reasons to be skeptical

  • Writes in a borderline cartoonish language. Maybe it's a pet peeve of mine, but it makes the whole thing feel like a skit.
  • No major publications picking it up. Maybe it's too early, maybe just not enough there.
  • While making some connections, it still seems like random "throw stuff on the wall and see what sticks".

The answer is "just win Saturday" and Michigan already lost this PR battle. BUT...if some of this stuff is more than smoke it really could make a different with public perception and impact what kind of penalty UM is looking at down the road.

If you want to venture just go for @tonnorscalions on x.

Agree...At some point, you have to provide more. If he has connections to all these credible people and his posts are being seen by literally hundreds of thousands of people and there is real smoke, he (assuming a male) needs to take the next step or it's just all fun and games nonsense.

Maybe I am being too skeptical - Stalions was shown to be paying multiple people, these screenshots are payment for “milk” going to the same person on a regular basis.

In college, one of my flatmates took the onus of buying groceries and house supplies for both of us, and I just reimbursed him every 1-2 weeks. Not saying that is what is happening here, but I’m not going stretch a screenshot about a college kid paying single person on a regular basis.

Weird that two OSU affiliates that take videos buy groceries every time Michigan played but not on the bye week. Also weird they used TUNst the week before MSU.

It’s pretty clear that OSU is just a dirty or even dirtier than Michigan when it comes to sign stealing. We should be doing the exact same faux outrage that they did to our program, otherwise you are a KFATA of OSU.

I bet "milk" was what they thought of as a very inside joke code word due to Harbaugh's love of whole milk. If it was groceries, you would just write groceries. Its not like "milk" is a standard venmo thing, you still have to type it in there every week.

While it's true that Michigan has lost the PR battle to date, a battle is not a war.

I suspect that there is plenty of anger in Ann Arbor from Regents on down. While I am not following each rumor and twitter thread (hopefully Brian and/or Seth can summarize and speak to legitimacy), I would suspect that people are investigating and also investigating other matters that have yet to be made public. Even if these are Michigan-friendly journalists.

We don't know what we don't know.

I have no idea if a secret dossier exists, or not. I don't know what OSU or other teams' staffers do or don't do. I expect others' issues to come to light - in time - if they do exist.

Someone saw those robot murder dogs and said "that's a fantastic idea, lets make those!"

I originally didn't like that episode because it was very straightforward and didn't really have much nuance or a twist, but then a few years later every police department decided they needed to have those and now I have a new appreciation for that episode

One more note...with all the people that keep saying "we know who it is" it seems like that would get leaked soon, right? There is no way for all these insiders and people to be discussing it and it not get out there who this is.

First Base.

We know who Third Base is.

We're hoping THEIR First Base gets caught stealing BUT that Third Base is called out too (even if he's on base) because he's a thumb sucker hypocrite.

We're pissed off though, because the first base umpire (new guy) knows First Base is trying to steal but keeps ignoring the pickoff attempts AND tossed our manager for asking for a review upstairs, while the home plate ump (Mr Upstairs) won't call a damn strike because his friend's son got tossed for being a pervert bat boy and he's sticking it.

Yet Who's on first still befuddles us after decades of wondering.

I think this is more aimed at terrifying all the people who ganged up and voted to suspend Harbaugh, Pettiti and the NCAA.

The gentleman’s agreement has been broken and each now has to assess their own skeletons and risk.

I would love to know if OSU had Georgia practice film last year. If teams outside the conference get impacted, the noise and outrage around OSU goes up quite a bit.

I just love that it’s “Tonner Scalions.” My hope is that it’s the real Conner Stailions and that he’s finally using his ADVANCED RECONNAISSANCE EXPERTISE to screw osu over instead of us

Stallions is inevitable. He leads Michigan Football for the next 30 years. He rules with a charming persona but mind boggling intelligence. He knows too much about all of us. He befriends Elon and Zuckerberg - He knows more. He wires himself up to his AI Machine™ in Schembechler Hall and distributes His consciousness among the halls. He sees all. He buys Hoover. He is eternal.

Yeah I hate these stupid drips of info that never lead anywhere.  Either you've got proof of actual misconduct, in which you'd take that straight to a reporter or the conference, or you're just playing conspiracy with publicly available information that doesn't mean anything, in an attempt to play a shitty game of PR wars.

Until somebody has enough evidence that the conference has to take this seriously, I don't give a flying fuck about cryptic Twitter updates that go nowhere.

A dark alternate hypothesis: This is a big-time OSU con job. Posts are in fact designed to not resemble anything that would come from OSU's own vast network.

Also, I haven't had my coffee yet.

All I have to tell the X account owner is keep digging!  Use the vast network to dig up every pebble of dirt on these OSU scumbags!
