If I buy some coke could I hypothetically get free tickets
September 18th, 2021 at 11:07 PM ^
No, but your teeth would’ve been ground into dust waiting for something exciting to happen. Oh wrong coke? Yeah we may be nearing that area since every fucking ticket in the stadium is $160 and no one wants to pay that to see a close game against Tulsa.
September 19th, 2021 at 12:47 AM ^
"... and no one wants to pay that to see a game against Tulsa."
Fixed it for you.
September 18th, 2021 at 9:47 PM ^
It was their lowest attendance since 1971
September 18th, 2021 at 9:53 PM ^
They know what we know...
September 18th, 2021 at 9:55 PM ^
to be fair if there were actually 106k people at the Michigan game today I'd bite my hand off
September 18th, 2021 at 9:59 PM ^
We're gonna hold you to this pledge like WD and the lemon eating.
September 18th, 2021 at 11:11 PM ^
+1 for remembering that.
September 19th, 2021 at 6:27 AM ^
No doubt. That's dipping into the memory banks for sure
September 19th, 2021 at 10:19 PM ^
I did finally eat my box of lemon heads I pledged to eat when Daxton Hill recommitted.
September 18th, 2021 at 9:58 PM ^
There were. I counted them. Start chewing.
September 18th, 2021 at 9:58 PM ^
They probably screwed up and announced the actual number of scanned tickets instead of the “paid attendance” that everyone normally does. I can’t possibly imagine they only sold 76K tickets.
September 19th, 2021 at 5:32 AM ^
...or maybe playing players whatever you can afford is a better investment than paying the AD whatever they ask.
September 19th, 2021 at 7:59 AM ^
Nope. That is just the number of tickets they sold + the press passes, etc. They just failed to come even close to selling out the seats.
September 19th, 2021 at 8:47 AM ^
That’s the formula Michigan uses, and probably OSU normally. But I suspect they screwed up yesterday and reported the wrong number. Do you really think a program that has won 90% of its games over the last decade, and made the CFB playoff the last two years, could only sell 76K season tickets this year?
September 19th, 2021 at 10:59 AM ^
No, OSU did not 'screw up' and mistakenly report the wrong number. The photos and video images show a ton on empty seats. They just failed to sell 30,000 tickets.
ND was far short of a sell put. Oregon was far short of a sell out. Iowa did not sell out. Michigan did sell 106,000. But big time programs having lots of unsold tickets, even when they are playing well, is more and more common.
Even if Harbaugh rights the ship this year (so far so good), Michigan has some very uninteresting non-conference games in 2022 and 2023, so we could see Michigan Stadium with 20,000 unsold tickets too. They need to significantly lower the cost for the end zone seats at these body bag games.
September 19th, 2021 at 4:56 PM ^
Ask Alabama?
September 18th, 2021 at 10:00 PM ^
Glass houses, Michigan probably had 90k at the most
September 18th, 2021 at 10:05 PM ^
90 > 76

The Michigan difference!
September 19th, 2021 at 1:24 AM ^
And it was kind of nice when we don’t need the crowd factor. I was able to spread out a little bit.
September 18th, 2021 at 10:10 PM ^
There were only 75,540 assholes at the Ohio state game today.
FIFY
September 18th, 2021 at 10:17 PM ^
Oh, superb. This thread isn't even 20 comments deep and 1,000 people have gone missing.
We should close the doors and lock the gates so we don't lose any more perhaps.
September 18th, 2021 at 10:29 PM ^
The Tulsa fans are good people
September 18th, 2021 at 10:34 PM ^
Maybe 1,000 didn't have assholes
September 18th, 2021 at 11:09 PM ^
Ufer would state, “75 thousand truck drivers and a few other miscreants …”
September 19th, 2021 at 7:05 AM ^
This is at least the second time this week we’ve used “trucker” as a symbol. An earlier time was on a podcast.
Having driven a truck—not tractor trailer but much bigger than a pick-up—I have to say I’m not fond of the use.

Lighten up Francis
September 20th, 2021 at 7:22 AM ^
You're probably right that I should lighten up at what is mostly banter.
I may be a little sensitive to sneers at manual labor, having started when I was 11, and then supporting myself since high school, including paying my own way through college. Winter "vacations" during college: bus boy, seasonal postal worker; summers "off": mowing city parks, working in a factory, fighting forest fires; summer
(But why should I light up Francis, and who is he anyway?)
September 19th, 2021 at 11:00 AM ^
Okay, then. "75,000 meth dealers and a few miscreants. " Better? And probably more accurate.
September 19th, 2021 at 12:25 AM ^
With the on going trucker shortage I'm sure quite a few of them were on the road and missed the game.
September 18th, 2021 at 10:11 PM ^
I don't care. Why do you?
September 19th, 2021 at 6:30 AM ^
This is one of those comments that could have just lived inside your head and it would have been just fine.
September 19th, 2021 at 7:41 PM ^
Thinking ain’t thinking until posted.
September 18th, 2021 at 10:31 PM ^
Pricing themselves out of too many diehards price range it sounds like. Plus they win so much it's expected at this point.
Seeing a lot of complaints about their atmosphere being lame because too many old people yell at you to sit down. Sound familiar?
Luckily our ticket prices have been pretty reasonable this year so far, and I feel like our wine and cheese crowd generally stays home for night games.
September 19th, 2021 at 2:29 PM ^
Winner winner.
September 18th, 2021 at 10:33 PM ^
Tooth count isn't an accurate way to gauge attendance in Ohio.
September 18th, 2021 at 10:33 PM ^
This is the kind of in-depth analysis I come here for.
September 18th, 2021 at 10:34 PM ^
Fuck them. They want to whine, sulk and not show up because they lost to Oregon last week? Seriously, fuck them to death. They have no earthly concept as to what real football suffering is.
I hope they lose out. I hope a team like Northwestern sneaks up on them, beats them, humiliates them on national television and shows them what it’s like to know your team is truly down in the gutter, and then a resurgent Michigan team comes in, smells blood in the water, and Corum/Haskins runs them the FUCK over. I hope Harbaugh gets the chance to go for the jugular and celebrate in utter ecstasy with a victory.
I hope OSU experiences two decades years of wandering the desert, wondering if they’re even good enough to beat Maryland. It’s their time to suffer. Fuck them to death.

Ohio fans are neophytes that can’t handle the struggle…time for new (blue) blood to rise in the Midwest.
September 19th, 2021 at 9:55 AM ^
Yes, the orcs have had their day. It’s time for the men to rise up and fight
September 18th, 2021 at 10:40 PM ^
And yet they were still shitting into coolers....out of preference, not necessity.
September 18th, 2021 at 11:25 PM ^
Any context when in the game this was taken? Perhaps concessions were offering buy 1 get 1 SPAM burgers or free Skoal in your coke when this photo was taken at the horseshoe.
September 19th, 2021 at 1:27 PM ^
Spam is awesome.
