Ace - you've been part of my daily routine for almost eight years. That's a good thing. I really hope you recover because you're young and have more to give. This has to be happening for a reason. Get well.

Ace, I hope your health improves and wish you all the best post-MGoBlog.

I admit that when you first joined up I used to have a little feeling of "ah geez, I'd rather be reading Brian." But before too long I was looking forward to your writing in particular. You did so much to bring this site and community to the next level - basketball coverage, the podcast, even "small" things like the game summaries - and we all benefited from your work. Your piece on Walton is up there with the other great posts on this site as some of the best sports writing I've read.

In that spirit, forgive me for throwing your own words at you: "His crowning achievement was not that he missed his last shot, but that everyone believed it was going in." Sad that it had to end this way for you at MGoBlog. Grateful to have seen you play.

Ace, I started reading mgoblog because of your recruiting posts. You are a unique talent and undeniably brave/courageous individual. We all wish you well in whatever your next endeavor is, and thank you so much for your contributions to this community. Mgoblog would not be what it is today without you, get well soon!

You put out some impressive stuff in your time here. While I'm sorry to see you go, I saw your moving farewell video, and I'm happy that you'll be pursuing something very important to you.

Get better; it was a pleasure reading your stuff on MGoBlog.

Dammit, why can't we have nice things?! /shakes fist at sheer bloodymindedness of the universe

Seriously, though, Ace, thanks for your many excellent contributions to MGoBlog, gonna miss you.  I hope you get better and find the energy to do whatever you're going to do next. Maybe do a guest post now and again?

If not for you, I might have eaten hummus made from kittens.

I've never met Ace, but I feel like this place is a community.  I'm glad to see so many people rallying around Ace, and want to second all the support described below.  I hope you get all the help you need.

Ace,

Thank you for your thoughtful, kind-spirited, humorous, gif-filled insights on Michigan sports. Your contributions to this site won't be forgotten and your charisma for Michigan will be missed around these parts. Hopefully, you won't be a stranger.

I hope you find health in all its forms. Good luck as you take on new challenges.

You will be missed.

Go Blue.

This was a most depressing video to watch; poor guy. Ace was a perfect contributor on mgoblog, a natural counterpoint to Brian. They made a wonderful team.

I do hope he is able to get his health in order - that must be frustrating, scary, maddening, etc.

I also hope he knows that the mgoblog community is all thinking about him, and wishing him well.

One last time,

Thanks, Ace.

Of course in memory, I will still post this randomly on Brian's posts.

Ace, as one of the legion of strangers who have enjoyed your writing and your broadcasts over the years, thank you for efforts and I wish you all the best in your struggle with CFS.  I truly wish for you every good thing.  Take care.

I have been lurking on this board for many years and have never created an account or posted here until today.

I created an account to wish you well, Ace, and pray that you have a full recovery.  I have appreciated the content that you and Brian have provided over the years and truly hope that you can someday return to your love of covering Wolverine sports with renewed vigor.

Rivalries are a big part of what makes college athletics so great.  I respect the rivalry and respect you, Ace.  From my vantage point, you always provided fair and thoughtful analysis.  And the humor was appreciated, too.  Thanks, again, and I wish you nothing but the best.

Best of luck to you, Ace. Thank you for all of your contributions to this site over the years. I learned a lot from your writing about Football and especially Basketball. You are a good man.

It's sad to see you struggling Ace. Resigning via video was very brave. Thank you for all that you've provided us over the years. You can be proud of what you accomplished during your time of covering Michigan athletics. You're a great writer. Just by opening up and sharing your perspective I know you've already made an impact on a lot of people. For that, you should also be proud. I hope you find some answers and peace. May the grace of God be with you on your journey.

Must've taken a lot of energy to even make such a heartfelt and moving video Ace, and I can't begin to imagine how difficult this ordeal has been and continues to be for you.  Here's hoping you are able to see real improvements over time; those of us who've enjoyed reading your great work over the years will miss your contributions, but will of course continue to pull for you and your recovery.  All the best to you and your family, and thank you for your time, and talent, and efforts.  Cheers, and go blue!

Going to miss you on the podcasts, Ace, take care.

My wife has CFS so I can appreciate what you're experiencing.  FWIW she eliminated gluten and cut back on sugar and it helped her immensely.

Although I am someone who has often disagreed with your analysis and politics I understand that at the end of the day these things don't matter compared to real life.

Praying for you and your health my friend!
