Seems like one coaching staff had their team prepped and ready to go. Unfortunately, it was not Michigan's.
December 31st, 2022 at 9:34 PM ^
100% correct
December 31st, 2022 at 9:43 PM ^
No shit, Happy New Year motherfuckers….
January 1st, 2023 at 12:10 AM ^
That first half felt like the team hadn't practiced a down since the Purdue game
December 31st, 2022 at 8:10 PM ^
Sucked overall.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:11 PM ^
Idk what to even say. You knew this was one of “those” games when the team tried to pull the Philly Special instead of handing it to the DON on the goal line w the “apparent” best oline in the country.
Whats the point of ramming Corum into the defense over and over again against teams like Rutgers if you’re not going to do it against TCU?
Smfh.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:20 PM ^
Because they are a completely different team without Corum. The Philly Special was dumb, going for it was the incredibly stupid part. Get the 3, strike first. We were terrible on short yardage with Corum, let alone without.
The coaching blunders in this game were too numerous to even really narrow it down. Every single time we ran Edwards into the teeth we were setting a down on fire. Needed screens, bubbles, read options. We were simply not a power team the minute Corum went down and the coaches needed to realize that much sooner than they did.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:39 PM ^
i have no problem going for it on 4th down at the 2. i have a major problem with that play call. that's a play that should be called outside the redzone where there is more space and depth. hell, we made two 2 pt conversions when JJ kept the ball. and those are from the 3 yard line.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:56 PM ^
I have a major problem going with it for fourth down there. We typically need 3 plays to score from the 2 with Corum, for god sakes. It was a no brainer field goal.
December 31st, 2022 at 9:35 PM ^
Says something about how terrible that playcall was. I think Michigan tipped it by futzing with their alignment a ton before the snap. I think there was JJ and like 5-6 TCU defenders on that side of the field
Just run QB power. Or literally anything else
January 1st, 2023 at 1:38 PM ^
First drive of the game, points are all that matter. Three are far better than zero... no need to go chasing for extra points yet. It also would have given Michigan an early lead, which always helps momentum and morale.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:57 PM ^
This offensive line is not the best in the country. Overwhelmed consistently
December 31st, 2022 at 9:03 PM ^
They never were. Corum was the best player in the country. The o-line was above average but not some incredible mashing unit.
December 31st, 2022 at 9:03 PM ^
The goal line play call was terrible, but I mostly log in to downvote your dumb fucking hawt takes. I don’t give a shit how many this costs me. Bolivia sounds nice.
December 31st, 2022 at 9:24 PM ^
Dude you are one of the biggest doubters of this program. You shit on it every chance you get (if you don’t believe me look at his history). It’s embarrassing fans/alum like you represent the rest of us.

This is really all one needs to read to understand the entire game. Perfectly said
December 31st, 2022 at 8:12 PM ^
Not great Bob
December 31st, 2022 at 8:12 PM ^
Bad clock management, bad play calling in the red zone for the 1st half.
On the bright side last year we were 12-2 with a 23 point loss in the semifinal game that we were never in. We lost a lot of talent, but went 13-1 with a 6 point semifinal loss in a game that felt like we shot ourselves in the foot continuously.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:16 PM ^
Hard to say, “Last year we lost a game we should have lost. This year we lost a game we should have won,” is a bright spot. Only bright spot is if this inspires Corum to come back like Michigan’s first-round lost in Ohio in 2012 inspired Burke to come back.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:57 PM ^
This year we lost a game we should have won
Didn't deserve to win the game at all. Fumble on the goal line, the 4th and 2 stupidity, and 2 pick 6s... That's 28 points worth of shitting the bed right there.
January 1st, 2023 at 7:53 AM ^
Not to mention the baffling playcalling of Jesse Knowles in the second half
December 31st, 2022 at 8:12 PM ^
Defensive coordinator was total SHIT today! The whole staff was shit tho. Just highly disappointed losing a game we should have won and been on to the natty! Michigan will be clowned now as being overrated. Get ready for it!
December 31st, 2022 at 8:50 PM ^
Disagree. Minter made some decent adjustments. OC did nothing.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:54 PM ^
Nope, 3 times Minter call for a max blitz in the 3rd Q. All three times (in a row BTW) accounted for 195 yards given up and 3 scores (1 came 3 plays after the chunk play)....
That's not making adjustments. 1 time, yay it happens, 2 times....eh may want to rethink this....3 times.... What the hell are you thinking!!!!?!?!?!??!??!?!!!!
December 31st, 2022 at 9:12 PM ^
The worst defensive play call was the safety blitz down 41-38. I screamed as Rod was blitzing because I knew what was about to happen. There was no need for it when you’ve gotten yourself back in the game and a first down doesn’t kill you.
December 31st, 2022 at 11:22 PM ^
That was the point where I was literally screaming at the TV to STOP F’ING BLITZING. Fortunately for the TV I didn’t have anything in my hands to throw. SMH..
January 1st, 2023 at 9:08 AM ^
I don’t disagree but the tackle should have been made.
It seemed like we were gambling on D to get back in the game but then when we were back in the game we kept it up.
December 31st, 2022 at 9:17 PM ^
You're right. He had to make adjustments to his OWN failed strategy, many points later.
December 31st, 2022 at 10:51 PM ^
I not sure how you prepare your DBs for a boatload of offensive holding. The refs were very hands off, let ‘em play and TCU came prepared to let the refs throw a flag that often did not come
December 31st, 2022 at 8:12 PM ^
This thread should be fun.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:12 PM ^
Feels like I watched a different Michigan team. None of that was familiar.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:13 PM ^
Red zone offense was a problem all year. It bit us in the ass today. Why we are doing freak stupid things today vs running bread and butter. Is Stokes or Edwards so bad v Mullings they can't get 1 yard? We can't do a QB sneak?
Our OL is apparently only good in non playoff games.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:25 PM ^
Leave Mullings on defense. He’s not ready for a Haskins role. Not even close. Good kid but LB seems to fit him best.
December 31st, 2022 at 11:15 PM ^
Unfortunately, Mullings is just as bad on defense. Worst player we’ve consistently played since Boubacar Cissoko. Not having Corum or even a serviceable backup destroyed us today.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:13 PM ^
• 7 points lost by not scoring any points when the ball was on the 2.
• 7 points lost by not scoring any points when they had first and goal at the one.
• 4 points lost by having to settle for a field goal when they had a first and goal at the 5.
• 14 points given to TCU on pick-6s.
• 7 points at least given to TCU by Minter forcing a blitz on 3rd and long when a smart play gets Michigan the ball down 3.
39 points sacrificed on miscues. TCU is not an elite team. Georgia will win something like 42-13 because they’ll actually be prepared and their coaches won’t do stupid shit that throws the game away. Harbaugh needs to do some soul searching about how this was allowed to happen. Only way this won’t happen again (if they ever get this chance again, that is).
Also, Michigan pissed away 90 seconds on the last 3 plays of their last touchdown drive.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:35 PM ^
Hard to watch that last one. Running up the middle down two scores with 4 min left, only to lose 30 seconds a clip.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:35 PM ^

Didn’t you see the ref thread? What you typed isn’t real and it was clearly 100% on the refs.
December 31st, 2022 at 9:03 PM ^
Specially since Bell was really down at the 3 or 4 at worst
December 31st, 2022 at 9:36 PM ^
Or Ohio State wins like 63-24. TCU is not that good and theyre getting stomped next game. Sad that the coaches cost us a shot
December 31st, 2022 at 8:14 PM ^
Fuck Minter and Fuck Weiss
December 31st, 2022 at 8:14 PM ^
The goal line trick play when we opened the game strong pretty much set the tone. The playoff, unfortunately, is still above their pay grade.

managment classes in harbs future
December 31st, 2022 at 8:20 PM ^
Wasn’t a problem on TCU’s last possession because they got the first down. TCU would have just run the clock after 3rd down instead of before 1st.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:52 PM ^
I think this is correct. Lot of grumbling about it but it didn't really make a difference.
December 31st, 2022 at 11:23 PM ^
Getting that first down wasn't predestined. Calling timeouts would have provided an opportunity to get the right set in for each play.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:31 PM ^
He has been doing this for 20 years. It ain't changing.
December 31st, 2022 at 8:14 PM ^
Start by firing Weiss, Moore, and Minter. Leave them in Phoenix.
Learn clock management.
Fire Weiss, Moore, and Minter.
Overhaul bowl prep system in place.
Fire Weiss, Moore, and Minter.
