The former OSU and Miami QB turned WR is now back at UNLV, two years after his former high school coach Tony Sanchez was fired. He still has two years of eligibility.

Martell won two MNCs at Bishop Gorman. While in HS, he committed to Washington, A&M and finally OSU.

The Jordan Elliot principle applies, I think: the crazier the recruitment, the more reason to stay away. Martell is also why I tend to distrust QB recruits from hyper successful HS programs, just because they’re so often surrounded by high end skill talent.

Would like to see a study of that. Is your college career negatively correlated to how many commitments you make?

I feel with transfers (non-graduate transfers) the answer is usually yes because it means you probably weren't good enough to start anyway.

Reminds me a little of the Chris Clark situation. He was the 5* TE in '15. Committed to UNC then flipped to Michigan, then flipped to UCLA. Played 1 game for them and then transferred to Syracuse. Syracuse pulled his scholarship before he ever played for him. He then transferred to Pitt. Played a couple years and then left the program for personal reasons. Then played his last two years at Towson.

He had a hot gf at Miami who dumped him for a pro tennis player once it dawned on her that he was a scrub.

He was extremely entitled and never competed hard. Everywhere he went he expected the job to be given to him based on nothing more than his star rating.

If Tathan did not start, we also had Haskins and Burrow.... I believe that Day knew what he was doing. I have been reading this board daily for almost 8 years. Have never posted, but being a Buckeye since the 60's, I have alot of respect for the rivalry and wish it could get back to where it used to be.

I should add that when Urban was leaving, he knew that the offense was going to change  a lot.  He was an Urban guy much like JT. He knew that he was going to be the odd man out. Wish Burrow would have been given a chance under the "Day" system.
