So Much For Edge Being a Weakness

I know Colorado State's offensive tackles are not world beaters but McGregor, Moore, and Anoma have all looked awesome pressuring the quarterback.

Huge CSU competition caveat but I am loving what I see

Moore is gonna be a stud. Anoma has some juice

Harrell and McGregor had some good rushes too. Plus we're being creative with where pressure comes from, love to see it

I think the competition caveat is heavy here, but certainly a lot of the Edge players seem up to the task. Also, the blitz packages that Minter has dialed have all been fantastic. Good defensive showing.

D isn't looking to bad fro CSU but the offense doesn't look explosive and so far is pretty boring.   Cade hasn't looked that good either and the O-linr doesn't look that good yet.    I know we are up 30 to nothing but same thing as last year red zone and we kick field goals.   Wish Jim would really just stay uninvolved in the offense and really let someone take over and use are talent.   Granted it is just over a half to a season but offense doesn't look like a top 10 or even top 20.

Granted my opinion could change as season goes on and they start to look better.

Do consider the fact that Harbaugh and Norvell are apparently friendly, if not friends. They played together on the Bears. Coached together in Oakland. Harbaugh doesn’t want to immolate CSU just to please us fans. They are obviously working on some fundamentals as it is the first game. That said, if JJ plays half as well as he is capable he will be the starter this season as Cade has looked very average during his audition.

True, but I think a lot of that has to do with our DL interior just collapsing the pocket. Most sacks were sorta DL team sacks. Looked really great together. If this can continue, it could change the projections of this team and season

First time in a few years really needed a numerical program in the stands … lots of new players making plays. Pretty exciting stuff. Hope get a good rotation down.

Let’s hit the nail:

Anoma looks like a high-quality DE - pressure when necessary and stayed home on away plays.

Moore is ready to go: size and push are top tier, so like for him to turn the pressure loose.

McGregor has a motor to go with size: let’s see where this lands, but he has the size, speed and power to make a difference.

Moore: big dude with pressure mentality, so hopefully it turns into premier DE play.

Figured they’d be successful today but the guys have a little more motor and explosiveness than I expected.

Anoma has the juice. Believe this is his last year of eligibility right? Adds some nice depth and someone who can come in and bring some lightning.
