Yeah - the D looks explosive and dangerous! Reminiscent of 2016!
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:11 PM ^
Dunno they let across midfield for a minute there…
September 3rd, 2022 at 3:21 PM ^
It's almost like Harbaugh, who's as straight a shooter as coaches come, might have actually just been giving his honest assessment when he said that the DL would be as good or better this year.

Derrick more looks like he could end up being dominant .
September 3rd, 2022 at 1:35 PM ^
I don't think this is adequate data given the competition BUT you love to see it.
Also, did anyone hear them say CJ Stokes is our fastest RB?
September 3rd, 2022 at 1:43 PM ^
Huge CSU competition caveat but I am loving what I see
Moore is gonna be a stud. Anoma has some juice
Harrell and McGregor had some good rushes too. Plus we're being creative with where pressure comes from, love to see it
September 3rd, 2022 at 3:15 PM ^
Rod is already a stud. There is no going to be.

Benny has been fantastic on the line today
September 3rd, 2022 at 1:51 PM ^
Very good first half; love it! They are showing signs of greatness.
September 3rd, 2022 at 1:55 PM ^
I think the competition caveat is heavy here, but certainly a lot of the Edge players seem up to the task. Also, the blitz packages that Minter has dialed have all been fantastic. Good defensive showing.
September 3rd, 2022 at 6:07 PM ^
Yes, good signs. But I wonder how effective the bull-rushes will be against legit BIG10 lines as we move through the season. Gonna need to stay creative and find a couple guys who can get mix things up with speed around the edge.
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:00 PM ^
Can’t argue with the results so far. They have more to prove when the level of competition goes up, but the results so far are good.
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:06 PM ^
Another one, DJ with the heady play too.
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:20 PM ^
D isn't looking to bad fro CSU but the offense doesn't look explosive and so far is pretty boring. Cade hasn't looked that good either and the O-linr doesn't look that good yet. I know we are up 30 to nothing but same thing as last year red zone and we kick field goals. Wish Jim would really just stay uninvolved in the offense and really let someone take over and use are talent. Granted it is just over a half to a season but offense doesn't look like a top 10 or even top 20.
Granted my opinion could change as season goes on and they start to look better.
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:28 PM ^
Do consider the fact that Harbaugh and Norvell are apparently friendly, if not friends. They played together on the Bears. Coached together in Oakland. Harbaugh doesn’t want to immolate CSU just to please us fans. They are obviously working on some fundamentals as it is the first game. That said, if JJ plays half as well as he is capable he will be the starter this season as Cade has looked very average during his audition.
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:53 PM ^
How was it then, in your opinion, when Jim coached against John?
September 3rd, 2022 at 3:16 PM ^
I mean, he let Jon win a super bowl...
September 3rd, 2022 at 4:13 PM ^
There is a difference in winning a game and running up the score on an overmatched team coached by a man you respect. We didnt appear to be trying very hard and won by damn near 50.
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:22 PM ^
I really think they are showing because Smith and Graham are getting lots of push and flushing the QB right to the edges
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:23 PM ^
*Alabama Transfer Eyani Anoma.
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:28 PM ^
Is that Denard in the white striped polo after the td?
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:40 PM ^
Yep. Saw Fred Jackson on the sidelines as well.
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:53 PM ^
Ojabo was just spotted on the sidelinee speaking with DJ Turner.
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:47 PM ^
On Anoma's sack in the first half, his speed exploded on the screen. It was impressive
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:55 PM ^
I love his turnaround story. I predicted he would turn into a draft pick. He just may...
September 3rd, 2022 at 2:52 PM ^
The pass rush looks great today, but I think you’re going to have to wait for better competition to make that determination.
September 3rd, 2022 at 3:16 PM ^
For sure! Like at Iowa is what I've been hearing for weeks.
At Iowa. 5 pts vs SDSU lol. at home. their fans are booing them.
September 3rd, 2022 at 3:14 PM ^
True, but I think a lot of that has to do with our DL interior just collapsing the pocket. Most sacks were sorta DL team sacks. Looked really great together. If this can continue, it could change the projections of this team and season
September 3rd, 2022 at 3:46 PM ^
Great game for momentum, but can't really draw conclusions due to the talent gap
September 3rd, 2022 at 7:39 PM ^
First time in a few years really needed a numerical program in the stands … lots of new players making plays. Pretty exciting stuff. Hope get a good rotation down.
September 3rd, 2022 at 8:30 PM ^
Let’s hit the nail:
Anoma looks like a high-quality DE - pressure when necessary and stayed home on away plays.
Moore is ready to go: size and push are top tier, so like for him to turn the pressure loose.
McGregor has a motor to go with size: let’s see where this lands, but he has the size, speed and power to make a difference.
Moore: big dude with pressure mentality, so hopefully it turns into premier DE play.
September 4th, 2022 at 8:27 AM ^
Figured they’d be successful today but the guys have a little more motor and explosiveness than I expected.
Anoma has the juice. Believe this is his last year of eligibility right? Adds some nice depth and someone who can come in and bring some lightning.
September 4th, 2022 at 9:56 AM ^
I recall reading he has two years.
