Sherrone Moore, first black man to be Michigan head coach.
A monumental moment in the 144 year history of the Michigan football program. One that took far too long to come but is now here: A black man is the face of the University of Michigan’s most prominent arm.
Celebrate it. Embrace it. But most of all give Coach Moore your full support. He will need it.
Coach Moore is our Henry V now.
Once more unto the breach, gentlemen.
Go Blue.

So true...I believe in the Harbaugh concept of meritocracy. I could care less if every coach were black or white as long as they were the best persons for the job. If that's Coach Moore, I am behind him 100%.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:24 PM ^
Spoken like a true white guy.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:41 PM ^
Yeah. Fuck hiring based on competence. Jobs that require us special skill set that not many people have should only be judge based on the color of their skin.
January 24th, 2024 at 10:36 PM ^
Do you think that celebrating the historic milestone of Michigan hiring its first black head coach, means that said coach was hired for the color of his skin?
Sherrone Moore just coached Michigan to arguably the most important win over Ohio State in program history. Is that not competent enough for you?
January 24th, 2024 at 7:04 PM ^
This take should go over well.
Here for the comments.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:05 PM ^
Guy is a troll extraordinaire.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:13 PM ^
Exactly, almost got me...then I saw the poster and realized joke is on me.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:15 PM ^
But he's right. Coach Moore literally said it himself 🤷
January 24th, 2024 at 7:15 PM ^
I mean this with kindness, but you're lying. You do see color and it does impact you. There's substantial evidence showing so. Happy to share research if you're interested since I know this is a very popular/emotional misconception.
January 24th, 2024 at 9:00 PM ^
I don't give one little peanut poop what color Moore is. Can he win football games, and do it while being a good representation of the university (looking at you Juwan)? That is what should matter. Moore seems like a great guy, so here goes nothing I guess.
January 24th, 2024 at 9:13 PM ^
Does he get the same opportunity if he were white?
Nope.
January 24th, 2024 at 10:07 PM ^
Young black head coach in a sport filled with majority black kids. Sounds like a great opportunity to me if Moore got the chops.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:00 PM ^
Very excited
January 24th, 2024 at 7:01 PM ^
Fred Jackson has entered the chat
January 24th, 2024 at 7:44 PM ^
... and has just gone to his minifridge to open another Diet Coke.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:01 PM ^
complete the transition now. Promote Mike Hart to OC
January 24th, 2024 at 7:03 PM ^
It would probably be Campbell. He has previous OC experience already
January 24th, 2024 at 7:05 PM ^
Hart isnt getting the OC job. RB coach to OC? Way too much of a leap. Hart still has to move up the ladder. Still has to prove himself before he gets the OC job of one of the top college football teams in American history.
#GoBlue
January 24th, 2024 at 8:01 PM ^
But yet Campbell gets a shot who was a OC for 1 season at Old Dominion.. Come on now. I'm not saying Hart should be OC but you can't pass him up for Campbell
January 24th, 2024 at 8:09 PM ^
Funny how Hart has to prove himself but most people are ready to anoint Moore as the “chosen one” based on 3 games. Moore was given way too much credit for not screwing things up. Are we sure Minter wouldn’t have gone 3-0? Offense didn’t win the Natty…the defense did.
January 24th, 2024 at 9:14 PM ^
Lol yet Moore gets a HC job without experience why?
I'll let you figure that one out.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:06 PM ^
I would prefer they hire someone with a better track record than Campbell.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:11 PM ^
Dont disagree..moreso if staying in house. No way on Hart though he needs more experience and especially as a coordinator
January 24th, 2024 at 7:14 PM ^
Nah...
Make him Run Game Coordinator and make Campbell Pass Game Coordinator.
Moore keeps OC and gives up the OL.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:24 PM ^
If Moore is going to be head coach, he needs to give up OC and OL duties.
Last thing the guy needs is more on his plate as a rookie HC.
January 24th, 2024 at 9:01 PM ^
Why the heck not?!?! We are just winging it now. He has as much OC experience as Moore does HC experience. F it. Let's see what happens.
January 24th, 2024 at 9:15 PM ^
Which is NONE yet he gets his shot because why? Lol. Easy answer.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:01 PM ^
Link?
January 24th, 2024 at 7:01 PM ^
He already was.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:01 PM ^
I thought we were getting the first purple man -
Brian Kelly.
Seriously tho what fuckin assclowns thought this was even the remotest possibility?
January 24th, 2024 at 7:06 PM ^
The candidates table embedded in the article was causing formatting issues because it was too short, so they had to add another row to make the JavaScript work.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:25 PM ^
The same assclowns who knew people like you would repeat it regardless of how stupid it is.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:26 PM ^
January 24th, 2024 at 7:01 PM ^
Please Ono and Warde hire Jesse Minter as next HC.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:06 PM ^
Guarantee part of Harbaugh's deal with the Chargers is to throw so much money at Minter, it guarantees Minter goes along with Harbaugh to the Chargers.
#GoBlue
January 24th, 2024 at 9:00 PM ^
You do not know this. In fact , Jim may have made the deal based upon the assurance that Jesse stays. We do not know.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:26 PM ^
Minter doesn't want to be a HC guys. Would love for him to stay as DC, but the guy is a DC.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:02 PM ^
You judge head coaches by the color of their skin? Yikes.
Oh, and comparing Sherrone to Henry V is like THE LAST COMPARISON you want to make, since skin color apparently means something to you.
Sherrone is a good coach because he's a good coach. He deserves to be head coach because he's a good coach. Anything about his skin color is reverse-racism, which is in and of itself racism.
#GoBlue
January 24th, 2024 at 7:07 PM ^
"Reverse racism" is not a thing, but hopefully Head Coach Moore is. Do better. Go Blue.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:08 PM ^
Pretending color doesn’t matter is willful blindness to reality.
Henry V as written by Shakespeare is a fictional character. The real one was a genocidal imperialist.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:35 PM ^
You do realize we have a sports facility on campus named after a Michigan football coach and athletic director who would not coach a Black player, nor hire a Black coach to be on his staff, because of his racism.
Ignorance is ignorance, and your posts on this topic are ignorant.
January 24th, 2024 at 9:17 PM ^
Ah so hiring an inexperienced and probably unqualified head coach without head coach experience because he is black is also ignorance and tokenized bullshit.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:02 PM ^
Sorry, but I hope they don't promote Moore. It would be a mistake. Michigan can do better than an assistant with no experience running a program.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:14 PM ^
Who would you suggest? Are you willing to have current top talent leave because a new coach coming in?
January 24th, 2024 at 9:18 PM ^
Yes let's hire someone with actual head coach experience and not someone who has never been a head coach simply due to the color of their skin.
Seems like a good idea since so many shit on other possible coach candidates due to lack of experience yet are now on the Moore train
January 24th, 2024 at 7:05 PM ^
Minter should be the head coach.
Our offense was around 70th
Our defense was historic
Am I missing something?
January 24th, 2024 at 7:08 PM ^
Minter prolly headed to the Chargers too…
January 24th, 2024 at 7:19 PM ^
You are missing something. We shut down our offense, sat our starters, and didn't play the 4th quarter in about half our games this season and we also played 4 top 10 defenses.
If we play our starters the whole season and run up the score like in the old BCS days and if we change our schedule a bit, we are actually almost certainly a much higher rated offense.
We protected our players most of the season.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:22 PM ^
Minter has no desire to be a CFB head coach. He's going straight back to the NFL, and will probably stay there.
January 24th, 2024 at 7:27 PM ^
Minter doesn't want to be a college HC.
