And be eligible immediately?

In all seriousness, I don’t see the NCAA granting Michigan any favors here. The organization is highly political and setting any precedent for immediate eligibility upon transfer doesn’t seem consistent with their mission to subjugate student athletes.

I don't get the precedent thing. I feel like the Shea's sort of a special transfer case because of what happened with Freeze at Ole Mi$$. Besides, isn't the NCAA going to get rid of the transfer eligibility rule anyway? but then again, the NCAA is a dumb incompetently run mess that seems out to fuck over athletes, so what do i know?

I think one of the most frustrating aspects of NCAA rulings is how little precedent seems to matter. They could grant Patterson his eligibility and then arbitrarily deny someone else in the same position (or vice versa).

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if out of this batch of Ole Miss transfers some were approved and some not, even though they are literally all making the same argument.

Kind of a “Cool Story Bro” but Ole Miss OC was in the school I coach at and said their QB situation was “a bit of an interesting situation” I choked back basically all my reactions to come back with “what do you mean by ‘interesting’” the look on his face was priceless.

Upvoted out of sheer hope and wishful thinking.

With Warriner on staff I have reasonable hope and expectations the OL play will improve pass pro.  Now we just need a QB worth protecting.  With Patterson eligible I think it reasonable that with a pool of 3 talented QBs to assume someone is going to step up.

but I believe in the NCAA's ability to be completely ham handed in everything they do. They do nothing with the big stuff and take swipes at the easy stuff. Plus I just feel like they like to stick it to Michigan because we're an easy target. Heck, we still got major violations for stretching. Meanwhile MSU has a culture of criminals and sexual assault up the road and I doubt anything of substance will ever happen to them. I am pessimistic until I see Shea playing in a game for us this fall

Every second post on the subject reminds everyone it hadn’t actually been filed, as they were taking their time to gather a comprehensive and exhaustive case that would supposedly leave the ncaa with no choice but to grant the request for immediate eligibility.
