Shea Patterson's Appeal Filed with NCAA

We will know Ole Miss's response by March 12. They have 10 business days to respond.

Per the NCAA rules Ole Miss has 10 days to respond to whatever claims we have for why Patterson should be immediately eligible. This isn't really the same thing as the FBI thing.

Twas but a joke, sir

Whoosh.
This whole thing has got me so anxious I can't tell what's what.

In all seriousness, I don’t see the NCAA granting Michigan any favors here. The organization is highly political and setting any precedent for immediate eligibility upon transfer doesn’t seem consistent with their mission to subjugate student athletes.

I'm really crossing my fingers on this one....

Phil Mickelson recommends Enbrel, EGJ.

I don't, just because it is Michigan.
February 28th, 2018 at 6:16 AM ^
I think one of the most frustrating aspects of NCAA rulings is how little precedent seems to matter. They could grant Patterson his eligibility and then arbitrarily deny someone else in the same position (or vice versa).
Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if out of this batch of Ole Miss transfers some were approved and some not, even though they are literally all making the same argument.
February 28th, 2018 at 10:11 AM ^
the precedent is, if it benefits Harbaugh at Michigan, it will likely get denied.
February 28th, 2018 at 1:04 PM ^
I'm optimistic. The NCAA is currently wiping a lot of egg off its face and I don't think they will want to hold these kids up. The optics would be horrible.
On the other hand now I know they're going to fuck it up.

2018?
February 28th, 2018 at 7:17 AM ^
lol, what's going to happen with the basketball scandle then?
I mean, the NCAA has to make a decision on this thing and I'm not sure "predicting NCAA decisions" is in your wheelhouse, so can you explain what makes you so confident on this?

Upvoted out of sheer hope and wishful thinking.
With Warriner on staff I have reasonable hope and expectations the OL play will improve pass pro. Now we just need a QB worth protecting. With Patterson eligible I think it reasonable that with a pool of 3 talented QBs to assume someone is going to step up.

Hoping for a favorable NCAA ruling almost seems like fools gold to me.
For once, let those feelings be misguided!
February 28th, 2018 at 5:57 AM ^
but I believe in the NCAA's ability to be completely ham handed in everything they do. They do nothing with the big stuff and take swipes at the easy stuff. Plus I just feel like they like to stick it to Michigan because we're an easy target. Heck, we still got major violations for stretching. Meanwhile MSU has a culture of criminals and sexual assault up the road and I doubt anything of substance will ever happen to them. I am pessimistic until I see Shea playing in a game for us this fall
February 28th, 2018 at 9:42 AM ^
That's the problem. Harbaugh's been uppity and the NCAA hates him for it.
Since the real underlying reason would be to knife Harbaugh, I look forward to reading the NCAA's official justification for denying Shea's eligibility.

should want to avoid any more bad press...

An "NCAA official justification" for something rediculous where they completely counter what they have said before.
You keep that innocence, hold on to it. Cherish it for as long as you can.
