I actually agree with you. Up to now, UM and OSU have been rivals on the field, but have had shared interests in terms of realignment. If OSU is going to run a smear campaign and try to screw us over outside of the game, that's another story.

Everyone else in the B1G is being carried along by us and OSU, so they can fuck right off.

I'm thinking break the ACC GOR and get a conference of UM, ND, Clemson, UNC, Duke, NCSU, FSU, and Miami?

If this news is true, it seems the other schools are assuming Harbaugh and the rest of the coaching staff are behind this or at least knew what Stalions was doing.

Michigan should just impose their own little BS sanctions and fines

Harbaugh fined 3 million (then add 3 million extra to his contract offer)

Suspend the DC 3 games

Suspend a couple position coaches for 5 games

Announce 1 scholarship reduction for 5 years (in the era of NIL does it even matter)

It may be because I saw Big Ten trending on X and I clicked on it, but for some reason today I feel the most uneasy about this whole situation. Couple that with the individual who has been posting his insider knowledge has me very fearful. I hope I am wrong.

If the Big 10 jumps the NCAA and does any sort of punishment to Michigan this season based off trumped up allegations, I am done with college sports.  You have three teams who have been getting more than half of the available 5 star athletes in the nation for around a decade now and that’s not being looked at??   Give me a damn break!!

The solution is to crush our remaining opponents to show that previous sign scouting meant nothing.

We crushed teams before sign scouting, we crushed teams after sign scouting.

It must not be a meaningful advantage, just like the NCAA said it wasn't when it tried to drop the rule in 2021.

Most of the other Big Ten coaches and presumably their ADs are pushing Pettiti hard to ban us from playing in any post season games.  That's what they want and thyey're not going to stop until they get something.

My guess is the Big lets us play, but multiple coaches are suspended for the rest of the year and maybe beyond.  That's the bare minimum the rest of the conference will accept IMO.

By "can" do you mean a tin can, like a can of worms?  Do you mean their bathroom?  Or do you mean "can" as in their ass, which is a term that my dad often used in the 70's?  And if so, how does the Big Ten have an actual ass?  Do you mean all of the teams' individual asses?  If so, how does the team have an actual ass?  So many more questions.

I hope, even more than usual, that we beat Purdue, Penn State, Maryland, and Ohio State eleventy-billion to naught the next four weeks.  And that every Michigan player and coach on the sideline watches the game through binoculars.

I can understand how someone thinks Michigan had a widespread culture of cheating and got a number of unfair advantages from it. I can understand someone wanting punishment. I think a neutral, rational person can see that (NOTE: I am not neutral, and definitely not rational when it comes to football of any kind, espeically my dear alma mater. I think this was limited to a single staffer and his offense is by rule a low level break and don't understand how much of an advantage this could give compared to viewing the All 22 film).

Nevertheless, if you've stopped the cheating - why are you afraid of what they can do to you on the field? The teams we've played are unlikely to win a big ten championship, and vacating those games hurts Wisconsin and Iowa, the only teams in the east with a chance to win whether we vacate or not have yet to play us. Rationally, there is no reason to act hasty right now, and it would be unfair to a number of schools not named Michigan.

On top of that - there's an ongoing investigation that Michigan is legally not allowed to publicly defend itself in. So not ONLY can you just "beat them on the field," not ONLY is vacating wins at this point unfair to half 5 Big Ten west schools, but taking any action now before Michigan is legally allowed to defend itself and before all facts have been known is legally treacherous.

I seriously don't believe there are 5 Big Ten West schools who are that angry about this, especially because the coaches who've publicly commented, from Bielema to Rhule to MSU's interim to Schiano have all mostly been blase about it. But IF there is something that goes down to block us from Indy, Michigan should absolutely use all legal resources at our disposal against the Big Ten and should very much consider exiting the Big Ten without paying an exit fee and start talks with the SEC/ACC/Pac2 right now. We should also very publicly accuse a Big Ten school of tampering with an ongoing investigation, and hire a PI to find out who the hidden sources are and have them work with the NCAA to deal with that Level I violation.

But whatever. If we go 12-0 and can't play a further game, I'm claiming a natty anyway. And the school should as well.

So the B1G commissioners are going to vote to end Michigan's season? just like they voted for OSU to go to the Rose Bowl back in '73. If that were to happen it would be time for Michigan to leave the conference.

HIlarious scenario: Michigan gets banned from the big ten championship game (since thats the portion that actually impacts the "integrity" of the big ten right? Not the bowl season) CFP puts them in the top 4 anyway, and wins it all

Hey Big Ten dummies, remember the immortal words of Jesse "The Body" Ventura:

Win if You Can, Lose if You Must, But Always Cheat

Which is what th Big Ten has been doing to us since at least 1971.

I don’t understand all the secret sources. It just screams total bullshit. Two weeks into this mess and NOBODY is willing to go on record as a  source in any of these stories? Wtf? This isn’t government secrets. Nobody’s life is at stake. If Michigan broke obvious rules why would people want to hide in fear and not publicly call them out? It’s so shady. And now the move for mob justice. It makes me sick. I don’t know how this ends. But I do hope one day Harbaugh and the players get a chance to finish out the season uninterrupted and clear their names one day. If they get screwed out of a championship opportunity because of this, I hope other schools get what’s coming.

Gandalf, the enemy is moving. The Rival forces are massing in the east — his eye is fixed on Ann Arbor. And a low level staffer you tell me has betrayed us. Our list of allies grows thin.

There are videos and pictures of Stalions at games, but one thing that we have not seen is Stalions lifting his arm or arms up and taking a video or picture in the direction of any sidelines.  The guy should be fired by Michigan, but there is no video or image of him doing anything but standing there looking like a buffoon.

I understand the anger and paranoia here. I get the 'Michigan should leave the Big Ten if THAT happens' stuff - seems we always get the short end of the stick - but keep in mind:

1. No one has a crystal ball, and we don't know much. I'm including myself here.

2. Per the Big Ten Academic Alliance site: "Big Ten Academic Alliance universities engage in $10 billion in funded research each year. Leaders from our member universities are exploring ways to promote greater strategic engagement across the spectrum of the research enterprise to leverage and build upon the significant resources and research facilities."

Michigan made over $100,000,000 in research grants last year. How much of that comes from, or is enhanced by, our membership in the Academic Alliance I don't know. However, it seems unlikely that Michigan would leave the Big Ten Academic Alliance for the sake of a coach, or the ability to participate in a bowl game.

3. The Big Ten has the potential to remain the athletic conference that generates the most revenue for member schools. It's hard to imagine Michigan giving up that revenue source.

This is just a guess: If there are lumps to be taken, Michigan will take them and move on.

BIG isn't going to do jack. They'd be hurting themselves and costing itself untold amounts of money and tarnishing its biggest brand and most popular team where it matters most, ratings. You think Fox wants to see Michigan banned from the post season this year? It would devalue The Game, the most watched game, the most profitable game. That doesn't sound like the actions of a multi billion dollar corporation.
