You right.

November 26th, 2018 at 12:09 PM ^
Godspeed young man. All the best!
November 26th, 2018 at 12:10 PM ^
Does this mean he’s sitting out the bowl game?
November 26th, 2018 at 12:30 PM ^
It was mentioned on an insider forum, by an insider, that he plans on skipping the bowl game
November 26th, 2018 at 1:07 PM ^
That will change the way I remember his time here, right or wrong.
You play for your team. But it's all money these days. One of the many things that our society has entirely wrong.
November 26th, 2018 at 1:19 PM ^
Two words. Jake Butt.
November 26th, 2018 at 1:23 PM ^
That's a risk they take all year long. Jake went into that game knowing the risk, and I respect the hell out of him for playing.
You play for your team. Something something The Team... I forget.
Dolla dolla bill yo? Is that it?
November 26th, 2018 at 2:34 PM ^
Pretty easy to say from your couch when it isn't your (and your family's) financial future on the line.
November 26th, 2018 at 2:48 PM ^
Is the respect Jake Butt gained from you for playing going to compensate him for the money he lost by getting injured during the game?
November 26th, 2018 at 4:54 PM ^
You're right Tiny Timmm, as long as you take the biggest herd of the biggest elephants in the room out of the equation...
But then you wipe the crust from your eyes and see the giant herd of giant elephants in the room and realize how outrageously full of shit and hypocritical you're being....
November 26th, 2018 at 1:21 PM ^
Bowl games are just mere exhibitions unless you’re in the playoffs. I can’t fault him for missing that game.
November 26th, 2018 at 1:24 PM ^
That is your opinion, which you have a right to. I disagree.
November 26th, 2018 at 1:45 PM ^
I'm with Timmmaay on this one. You sign up to play for your team. If bowl games "don't matter" then cancel the bowl games. Don't tell me that you came to play for Michigan and wining the Rose Bowl doesn't matter.
The caveat in Rashan's case is that we don't know how hurt he really is right now. We know he spent much of the season playing injured, and is likely still injured.
If, say, he needs to have surgery or if he just needs the time to heal can be fully healthy next year, its really to hard to fault him for taking the time to do that.
November 26th, 2018 at 2:15 PM ^
"If the bowl games "don't matter" then cancel the bowl games."
Well, now that there's a playoff system, the bowl games don't matter. In fact, most of the bowl games haven't really mattered since the BCS Championship game started.
The bowl games are just money generators and outlets of entertainment for the fans of college football.
November 26th, 2018 at 3:15 PM ^
Yep; I really don't understand why anyone care at all about exhibition games. And that's exactly what bowl games are.
November 26th, 2018 at 4:25 PM ^
I hate to break it to you, but at the end of the day they are all exhibition games. Should players just stop playing if their team falls of contention midway through the season? If national championships are all the matters, than 99% of all college football games are a waste.
November 26th, 2018 at 1:51 PM ^
If he goes up against Georgia or LSU in the bowl game and does absolutely nothing, that will hurt his draft stock as well.
November 26th, 2018 at 2:34 PM ^
It is wrong... just like having to compete with universities where the people in charge let coaches who are wife beaters and order in thousands of dollars of sex toys to be delivered to the office is wrong. Having to compete against universities that let pedophiles do their thing for years and suffer no real consequence. Like having to compete against universities that have bag men and prostitutes etc. and so forth.
If he can get the money legally and not besmirch the name of the University of Michigan I'm all for it. Much of our competition out there can't say that. If all of those things weren't happening, then maybe I might agree with you. It is all about money these days.. about fat cats getting lots of money of the playing of the meat out on the field. That is all that offensive lineman was to Urbz at the end of the game when they kept trying to score while up 30 points. Meat. Well Rashan decided to officially charge for that in the future. I say go get paid young man! I'm sure his teammates understand and support him.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:32 PM ^
If I were him, I would skip bowl because of injury concerns.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:10 PM ^
Smart move. Why play injured at Michigan instead of going for the NFL money. I hope he gets a round 1 contract with a bunch of guaranteed money.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:10 PM ^
Maybe some team the NFL will get out of him what Michigan couldn't. Hope the kid stays healthy and has a great NFL career.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:10 PM ^
Good for him. Go make your millions and wreck worlds in the NFL.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:11 PM ^
Wishing him a long and successful NFL career! Watching the Amazon series showed what great people he and his mother are. Good luck Rashan!
November 26th, 2018 at 12:11 PM ^
I expect great things from the young man. Sucks he wasn't 100% this year. No sense coming back to another 2 loss, fringe top 10 team when you can get late first round money.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:11 PM ^
A. Cant blame him one bit. He's projected to go in the top half of round one and may move up once he crushes it at the combine.
B. Might want to brace yourself for several more of these posts in the days and weeks to come.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:21 PM ^
I kind of feel like Shea is going to submit his name, get back a mid-round grade, and return. But of the others... who else could legitimately expect to improve their draft stock with another year?
November 26th, 2018 at 12:43 PM ^
Probably Bredeson.
November 26th, 2018 at 2:36 PM ^
That's fair. I guess I wasn't even considering him a flight risk - I was thinking more of Devin Bush and the corners.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:11 PM ^
Rashan loves Michigan. It wouldn't surprise me if he announced so early to help with recruiting. Just a hunch...
November 26th, 2018 at 12:12 PM ^
At least he finished the season. I'm sure he knew a while ago that this would be it for him. I give him props for at least finishing when further injury was possible.
It'll be interesting to see what happens in the bowl for him and the other NFL bound/eligible guys on the roster.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:14 PM ^
I'd be fine with him going and doing his own thing so that his replacements can get all the snaps.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:12 PM ^
Thank you Rashan! Best of Luck!
November 26th, 2018 at 12:20 PM ^
Nah, man. They can't all be like Chase. Dude put in his time here. And honestly, this is what we want - real "dudes" that we hope just stick around. We just need more "next man ups"!
November 26th, 2018 at 12:29 PM ^
This is never the correct response. But it's especially wrong for a guy who risked his draft stock to play injured when he could've gone the Bosa route.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:14 PM ^
Wish him luck. I hope he plays in the bowl game but wouldn't blame him if he didn't. Played through a rough season and did it well.
I am interested to see where he gets drafted. He's got 1st-round talent but I do wonder if NFL guys take a hard look at his series of shoulder injuries.
November 26th, 2018 at 1:43 PM ^
If he's a little banged up now but likely to be 100% by January it might be better for him to play in the bowl to show he's healthy and maybe help his draft position.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:14 PM ^
Thank you for the way you represented the University of Michigan and everything you've done for this team. Best of luck and hope you have a great NFL career.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:14 PM ^
Cngrats to you Rashan Gary, get healthy and get that paycheck.
Thanks for all you did!
November 26th, 2018 at 12:17 PM ^
Good luck, but a very disappointing career here. Very rarely showed up in big games.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:26 PM ^
We thought we had our version of Bosa...
No love loss though, he played well enough and represented the school well.
Hope he finally reaches his potential at the next level and lays some quarterbacks out for years to come.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:26 PM ^
If recruiting rankings weren't a thing, where would Rashan rank amongst DEs in just the last 5-10 years at Michigan? We've had a number of other DEs make bigger impacts
November 26th, 2018 at 12:35 PM ^
Winovich
Charlton
Wormley
Gary
Frank Clark
Just off the top of my head... Who am I forgetting?
November 26th, 2018 at 12:39 PM ^
Graham. Arguably best DE in UM history. 2008 was his last year.
5 Star who lived up to the hype at UM.
November 26th, 2018 at 1:05 PM ^
Which blows my mind that Don Brown called him "the best I've ever seen" before the season last year.
November 26th, 2018 at 1:32 PM ^
Frank Clark was better than Gary. I like Gary but he seemed like a more athletic Ryan Van Bergen?
November 26th, 2018 at 1:24 PM ^
I wouldn’t go that far, he had 2 sacks in the OSU game last year and had our only sack in this game. He definitely was not the reason we lost the past 2 years.
November 26th, 2018 at 12:17 PM ^
He could have easily packed it in like Bosa, but he didn’t.
Hope he has a great combine and ends up with a good franchise
November 26th, 2018 at 12:18 PM ^
Gary is a 3-4 end. Late first, early second.
