Qb idea

This is not insider info, this is just a thought that I haven't seen anyone else say. I would not be shocked if Peters/Speight can't go that we see Dcaff. 1. His redshirt is not burned just because he plays (to my knowledge) it's easy he gets "injured" and doesn't play bowl game, one game means redshirt still in tact. Besides that if he kills it and beats Osu, job is his and he's gone in 3 years anyway. 2. If he's ready (strength and knowledge) and he's legit like I'm guessing he is, why wouldn't Harbaugh play him if he gives us the best shot? I think he would. 3. Imagine the emotional injection this would give the team and the crowd. Just a thought... yours?

I don't think it was all Speight's fault and the surrounding cast should give more support next year, but Speight didn't exactly light it up before he was hurt.  So, the one path you might be thinking of for McCaffrey to play next year is injuries to both Peters and Speight (a repeat of this year's bad luck).  But, there are alternative paths such as a Peters injury and McCaffrey being better than Speight or McCaffrey being better than either.

On this blog, every time you see a stupid ass post, you think, "this has got to be the dumbest post I've ever seen".  Five minutes later, another tops it.  Incredible.

First off sorry I made you feel that way woaty. 2nd of all honest question - why would you even read and comment if you hate it? I mean I've seen quite a few things that haven't interested me so I just don't comment. No hard feelings.

But I appreciate the desperate situation we are in and that we are trying to come up with some scenario where we can beat osu.  This is college football, so I refuse to believe we can't win Saturday.  I'm also very optimistic that next year, we won't be haing these painful conversations about QB.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t see any rhyme or reason for burning a red shirt and starting a true freshmen with no game experience in the biggest game of the year. But I’m with you in that Peters surprised me and I’m assuming he also surprised the coaching staff otherwise he wouldn’t have been behind O’Korn for so long. He stepped up and gave this team new life that we didn’t expect was there. So now you start thinking that maybe DM could surprise us in the same way. Maybe. Maybe not. I trust Harbaugh to make the best decision. The bigger question in my mind, will be our offensive strategy. In any case I got Michigan pulling this one out. They’re hungry! Go Blue!!

If he truly were the best option for Saturday, you could burn his RS for this year. If it looks like he's ready, great, he wouldn't have been around for his fifth year anyways. If he's better than OKorn but still not better than Peters or Speight, you can RS him next year as the third stringer. That all being said, there's no way he's prepared for OSU. I've wasted my time typing this.

The kid is running the scout team this week. This is a non-question. Besides, you cannot put a true freshman in against OSU if he has been doing nothing but running the scout team all year and you have another viable option in JOK.

Nothing like welcoming a kid to college football by putting him behind an Oline that cannot figure out how to block a stunt.  Not to mention OSU's Dline is one of the best in the nation.  McCaffrey would get killed back there.

Just for one series...

Every play run the meat package with Spanellis and Ruiz as extra blockers, Hill and Poggi as lead blockers.  Direct snap to Mason with McDoom or Evans in motion to possibly get a handoff.

I just want to see if they could set some sort of record for the most poundage in a formation.

I actually like your idea IF Peters and Speight cannot play. We all know what’s going to happen with O’Korn but DCaff would provide a total and unexpected twist that may just fire up the team (and crowd) if he can complete a few early passes.

I️ don’t believe it will happen, but I agree it would be fun to watch. Even if he struggled for parts of the game, it may provide hope for the future.

This is, without a doubt, the worst fucking idea I've ever seen on this board.  Insert our 170 lb true freshman QB who hasn't practiced with the offense into the game agaist our rival with a great DLine and then have him fake an injury after the game and have Harbaugh and him lie to the NCAA to gain backthe redshirt.  Just wow.

And it's based on the false premise that faking the injury and having our program lie to the NCAA would actually get the redshirt, when it wouldn't.  God damn.
