Yeah that's fucked up.  I mean that player has something mentally wrong with him, he's unstable.  You can damage someone for life, and he's an adult that knows that.

And this entire "what goes on at the bottom of a pile in football" stuff is nonsense.  I played for  years (high school and below), was at the bottom of many piles, and we all just kind of, you know, got up.  Because we were sane humans.  The two guys fighting over the ball ripped at it, yelled, pushed as we were all pulled apart.  But nobody pinched or punched or grabbed or tried to break anything.  I think there are dumb players who hear stories of that happening, think that's what they're supposed to do, and are mentally unstable enough to do it rather than say "that would be insane."

It's supposed to be a game of respect between opponents who are already playing a very violent game.  Cheap shots don't make the sport tougher.  And are we trying to protect players or not?  Suspend that kid.

I was in high school quite a while ago now and very few guys on the team wore a cup. Hell even my college baseball team only the catchers and maybe half of the infielders wore one. Baseball infielders, playing on shitty surfaces and not wearing a cup was always mind blowing to me.

That wasn't obvious? He came out complaining to the officials of precisely that, with the cameras on him. Then he went to the sideline and sat with tears draining from his right eye. No, the announcers weren't interested, but I thought that was pretty clear.

I mean, he came out from the pile with a lot of blinking and you saw him on the sideline dealing with some vision issues (or at least being checked out).  I get that football is rough and piles are gross, but like, gouging a guy's eye is shitty and shouldn't be condoned.  I'm sure Michigan has been guilty of the same stuff and it doesn't make it right.

Went into the pile with eye black on then came out with it missing. It also looked on one quick camera shot of him he had blood on the face.

But PSU also had a player running around routinely leading with the head at Michigan ball carriers and the refs never made a call to protect the players.

I am honestly surprised they didn't invite Shea's eye and eye socket back to the showers first before they tried to molest them.  Seeing as no one cares about all the previous raping and molesting, it looks like they have become more brazen and just do it out in public now.

Should be like punching someone ... automatic ejection from the game.  Should have been easy to determine which PSU player was the poker when they un-piled Shea (or just ask him).

Unless Patterson or one of the other players names him/them we won't know who it is. Patterson just disappeared into a mass of bodies. Like Runyan said in that situation the refs can't really see who it is, Patterson would have had to name them to the official afterward, but even then I don't think they can eject without seeing it themselves. PSU should have had someone ejected for targeting Patterson earlier in the game though.

who remembers the blatant Denard Robinson head twists and nut grabs just during regular tackles by sharty?  and how about Robert Reynolds from osu choking the life out the wisconsin QB that time, was so bad he had to leave the game.

That is still the most egregious incident I've ever seen, that was actually caught on TV.  It's still hard to believe that creep wasn't kicked off the team; then again look what program we're talking about.  Something like that really should be treated like assault and battery, where the perp is hauled off to court for doing it.  The Wiscy QB could have been seriously hurt.  I think anyone with any kind of brain that functions normally could see that is way outside the bounds of what is considered part of football.

Last game was the 1st I watched on the Command Center view on ESPN App.  100% better than the normal feed.  Cameras picked up on this almost immediately.

I remember a Buckeye trying to tear out Jim Sorgi's trachea on live TV.  That was a really ugly scene because it wasn't hidden at all.

***edit, I should have read all of the replies not just page 1.  It was covered above***

If there’s any video of it, it should be at least a one game suspension, possibly two. Of course that doesn’t help us now. If Franklin is a stand up coach (which he isn’t) he would take it upon himself to suspend the player. I guarantee he knows who did it.

I wonder if this had anything to do with Uche still hitting people when they were taking a knee?

You would think that this sort of horrible behavior would be a thing of the distant past.  But apparently not.  Coaches can NOT tolerate this kind of dangerous crap from their players.  It makes you wonder what type of human beings Ped State is recruiting.  If I were Jim Harbaugh, I wouldn't want any type of lowlife on my team that would do something like that.  And if I were Jim, I'd place a personal phone call to James Franklin about it.  Seriously.  Tell him that in case he didn't know, he has at least one sub-human on his team that he might want to do something about.
