Yes, the Loins did.
The Lions also won.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:15 PM ^
Do you correct posts about Rutger too?
December 5th, 2021 at 7:41 PM ^
Loins, Motown Meows, etc.
They're all great.
December 5th, 2021 at 10:49 PM ^
LOLions!
December 5th, 2021 at 5:18 PM ^
Would you have corrected Lie-Downs too?
December 6th, 2021 at 3:40 PM ^
I do... it's the 'LIdOwNS'.
December 5th, 2021 at 6:50 PM ^
The Loins tend to prevail more often than the Lions.
December 5th, 2021 at 6:54 PM ^
Speak for yourself.
December 5th, 2021 at 7:43 PM ^
Yeah, it's been a rough few months for me too.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:08 PM ^
Somehow this spelling seems correct. There is no way the Lions won anything.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:09 PM ^
Watch them go on a run and blow their #1 pick.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:20 PM ^
That’s no different than watching them blow their first round draft picks year in and year out.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:24 PM ^
That may be a good thing for Aidan
December 5th, 2021 at 6:12 PM ^
I remember Brian Griese's father dissuading the Loins from selecting his son in the draft. That was a very smart move.
Aidan's talent would be completely wasted as a Loin.
I have my own history with the Loins, in connection with my work, and they seem to be the weirdest organization in football.
December 5th, 2021 at 8:44 PM ^
Without a link I'm skeptical. Not really a Bob Griese kind of thing. But Archie Manning did tell specific teams not to draft Eli.
December 5th, 2021 at 6:32 PM ^
Uh, based on decades of futility and forcing the retirement of extreme talents like Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson I'd support a situation where Aidan refused to play for such an inept, unprofessional organization.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:45 PM ^
This is the most lie-downs and fucked up fords thing to do. LOL!!!
December 5th, 2021 at 6:06 PM ^
Another Loins tradition…the meaningless 3 game win streak to end the season so they drop 8 spots in the draft and give their few remaining fans a false sense of hope for the next year.
December 5th, 2021 at 8:03 PM ^
Honestly, at this point of a decade-plus of wishing they get a better pick, it doesn't matter.
Especially this draft, when the talent seems to be kind of equal among the top five- I don't think there's any super big advantage from having 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5.
I just want the team to start winning and getting better. And if they end up picking 5th, fine- get the right GD guy.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:11 PM ^
Only the lions could screw up an 0-17 season.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:17 PM ^
The tie against Pittsburgh ruined that
December 5th, 2021 at 5:12 PM ^
That was perfect, didnt waste any time watching the game but got home in time to see the last play. I'll always take a win over a division rival!
December 5th, 2021 at 5:41 PM ^
And Kirk Cousins!
December 5th, 2021 at 5:15 PM ^
If they have to win a game and it can't be against the Packers or the Bears then the Vikings are the next best choice.
I guess Kirk won't be able to walk the streets for a while.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:17 PM ^
Why didn't the officials make the Lions kick the extra point? A block and return is a safety which ties the game. It is extremely rare, but I don't see how this was "officially" over. That would have been SO LOINS to give up a tying safety and lose in OT.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:23 PM ^
Lions could have “tried” a two point conversion.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:29 PM ^
You’re probably the guy who doesn’t let his kids win at Uno because they forgot to say “UNO!” after having one card left to play. Pseudo-lions fans are the worst and if you’re not a fan, than who gives a shit about the asinine scenario you just brought up? By the way MCDC did a really nice tribute to the Oxford community in his post-game interview. Probably not a great coach but seems like a genuine guy.
Just enjoy the win. It may very well be the last of the season…
December 5th, 2021 at 6:28 PM ^
Since he's the Lions head coach he will likely get canned in a few years and never rehired again in the NFL, but he's done a great job keeping the team together and playing hard. I still have a sliver of hope in the guy, assuming his coordinators can improve.
December 5th, 2021 at 6:49 PM ^
Apparently its the new rule, teams don't have to do the try if scoring with time expired. I think it makes more sense this way than before, where the only thing it would realistically change was the gambling outcome.
December 5th, 2021 at 8:23 PM ^
You do understand that they can “try” an extra point by going into the victory formation and taking a knee right?
December 5th, 2021 at 5:27 PM ^
I don't watch the NFL, but I typically check the scores so I can laugh at new ways the Lions lose each week. It is impressive to me that people continue supporting the worst franchise in the league. Hopefully they DO NOT draft Hutchinson for his sake.
December 5th, 2021 at 5:38 PM ^
Who the hell else am I supposed to root for? Some team I have zero connection to, emotionally or otherwise?
Thats worse than liking the Lions
December 5th, 2021 at 5:53 PM ^
My thoughts exactly.
December 5th, 2021 at 6:24 PM ^
They've been my team since the early 1970's. No changing now. Only difference now is that losses don't upset me anymore....I just chuckle and move on. Must be what Cubs fans felt for decades.
December 5th, 2021 at 6:49 PM ^
Who the hell else am I supposed to root for?
The Detriot Loins, duh.
December 5th, 2021 at 7:36 PM ^
I tried to find another pro team to root for. But it was an exercise in futility; I grew up in Detroit. It was a doomed effort.
So I gave up watching pro football altogether.
Meanwhile, it's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!
December 5th, 2021 at 5:37 PM ^
Although I think Jared Goff is an abysmal failure, he showed great poise in that final drive to win the game.
Personally, I hope the Lions DON'T draft Hutchinson. I'd like to see him on a more successful team - not perpetual losers like the Lions.
December 5th, 2021 at 7:20 PM ^
I somewhat agree but considering the next worst teams are the Jags and the Texans, I'd rather have him on the Lions than to let Urbs and the Jags have him
December 5th, 2021 at 5:39 PM ^
Saw this the other day: if the Lions win out, they still have a chance to make the playoffs. But A LOT of other things have to happen:
December 5th, 2021 at 5:50 PM ^
I've got a lot of money on under 4 wins so I wouldn't be too excited to see them win out
December 5th, 2021 at 6:09 PM ^
Loins hopefully goes down in blog lore with Moms and Staee. It will never get old for me.
The Loins winning is how I got two kids!
December 5th, 2021 at 6:21 PM ^
They have been down for a long time. No need to keep kicking them. I don't find Loins to be funny.
December 5th, 2021 at 6:39 PM ^
I'm happy for the team. I just wanted them to win one, so we're not 0-fer again. Now they can lose out.
And with coaching like going for it on 4th down in minus territory with the lead, they will do just that.
(I guess ESPN said that analytically, it was the right move, but on a team with this lack of talent? I don't think so)
December 5th, 2021 at 6:40 PM ^
The GOAT had 4 TD passes today... breaking his own records.
December 5th, 2021 at 6:50 PM ^
I wish my loins would win
December 5th, 2021 at 6:58 PM ^
OK they got their W, they can stop winning now .Dont mess up your draft by winning 2-3 games
December 5th, 2021 at 7:18 PM ^
Pork for everyone!
December 5th, 2021 at 7:38 PM ^
John Harbaugh elects to go for two against Pittsburgh for the win after driving 60 yards in like a minute. Jackson flips a release pass to the tight end that was a little hurried but very catchable and he biffs it and the Steelers win. Kind of curious why the decision to go for two instead of overtime?
December 5th, 2021 at 7:38 PM ^
Despite Campbell making another boneheaded move. Up by a couple of points with a few minutes left in the game he went for it on 4th down at his own 30 and didn’t make it.
