Lane Kiffin is worth a follow on Twitter.

As UT keeps burning, ASU is closing in on hiring Herm Edwards (?), Oregon State hires Jonathan Smith (UW's OC) and Purdue keeps Brohm with a contract extension and pledge to upgrade football facilities. Jimbo Fisher seems to be done with FSU and is going to TAMU. Recruits have been decommitting and apparently FSU's kicker is a suspect in an investigation regarding the murder of a frat's pet turtle (?). Willie Taggart and Justin Fuente are on FSU's list to replace him.

If Taggart leaves, hello Talanoa Hufanga?

Oh and forgot about Arkansas, which apparently is conducting 2 coaching searches; 1 by the boosters and 1 by the interim AD. Can't tell me that won't end up being dysfunctional somehow. Luckily for them, UT is taking all the headlines lol.

Dave Doeren, NCSU's HC, is next on the list for UT.

Jim tends to fire back and not be the one to start firing off first. Outside of a few tweets after SF fired his former assistant who took the HC spot after doing shady stuff behind Jim's back, I don't recall Jim ever starting stuff. I am not saying kifgin is out of line slam saban or Tennessee without being provoked, I actually think it's funny and like him more because of it. However, it is different than how harbaugh goes about Twitter slams.

Thank god

we have harbaugh. I hope he signs the lifetime contract.

Tennesse is a tire fire. I feel bad...nope. Fulmer. Screw it. I'm with kiffin laughing at them.

Tennessee is a dumpster fire. Fans chanting fire Currie (the AD) at a basketball game and one student was body slammed and ejected during the game. Jimbo to A&M would be a good hire for A&M, but I still don't think he's gonna succeed there long term.

What's the deal with Jimbo being done at Florida State?!  I haven't read much about the situation down there but...dude was the coach-in-waiting behind Bobby Bowden and a lifer.  Now...he's done after a not-so-hot season after his QB got hurt while sitting in a hot bed of talent!?  I just don't get it.

He's been flirting with other schools every year requiring FSU to give him pay raises. His divorce probably doesn't help either.

On top of that, he doesn't think the school is invested enough in facilities and wants renovations in a year that his team is 5-6.

I think both sides are just tired of each other and need to reset

Not sure he give a fuck. Seems to not like 2 of his former employers and not holding back to let everyone know how he feels. I am not sure about the bad blood at Tenn, but I always felt like saban was a dick for constantly ripping him a new asshole on the sidelines. Lane lasted longer than I would have in that situation.

Man, how far has Tennessee fallen that they are getting turned down for a guy to stay at Purdue?

Yeesh.

Having gone to college in Nashville, TN and been surrounded by asshat UT fans for four years, I am absolutely loving this but this is pretty sad for a once elite program.

Let's review the names that have turned UT down or taken other jobs:

Gruden - unknown if he was offered or interested in coaching again but he was laughably UT's #1 choice and he's still working for ESPN, which implies UT got turned down
Kelly - chose UCLA over Florida, did not consider UT
Frost - turned down Florida, likely headed to Nebraska (admitedly, UNL had the homecoming advantage but that's another coach UT would have wanted)
Mullen - chose Florida over UT
Cutcliffe - longtime former UT assitant, turned UT down
Gundy - there are certain jobs you just don't say no to, this is now the second time Gundy has passed on UT
Brohm - turned UT down
Moorhead - UT didn't offer him, but I'm guessing they would have taken him given who they are considering now
Doeren - current #1 target has a remarkbaly similar record (33-30 at NC State) to Schiano (68-67 at Rutgers).

Are so much more fun when we aren’t the ones fucking them up. Holy crap, Tennessee, go home you’re drunk.

This just in: Art Briles and Jim Tressel both just told UT hell no. Next target: Bret Bielema. Shit, is that even a joke at this point?

Recruiting is just as good if not better. Jimbo is clearly not getting along with the folks in the athletic department, and is obviously not happy. If I were Jimbo I would not want to start a rebuild all over again, but everyone has a price. If A&M offers him enough money he’s gone. Kyle field is a large stadium and the fans are loud so he’s got that going for him as well. If he does leave, if I were in charge at FSU my first call would be to bob stoops.

He wants a new football facility, especially now that UF and Miami have them, and the University is playing coy with him.

Could be all a tactic to get the university to cave, could be legit.

But he would make a major mistake leaving Tallahassee. aTm is not the big dog in their state recruiting wise. FSU, however, is.

Can someone tell the folks at ASU that Herm Edwards hasn’t coached in a decade? And hasn’t coached in college since 1989! Just for sheer entertainment I sincerely hope he gets the job. People who were calling for Harbaugh to be fired: just look at the dumpster fire that is this coaching carousel.

If Doeren turns UT down, at what point do you just save face and put up with Hoke for one year as your coach? I know that will do nothing to stabilize the program because everyone knows he'd be a dead man walking barring a miracle turnaround next season. But do you risk hiring a nobody and signing him to a multi-year deal, and then finding out after one year that he's a disaster?
