The Dan Band (from Old School, The Hangover, etc) forever changed the way I think of Total Eclipse of the Heart and Candy Shop

Maybe more scripted karaoke than a cover, but Chance The Rapper did one hell of a take on Nelly's Hot In Here on Jimmy Fallon's show

I listened to Dabo on Mark…

I listened to Dabo on Mark Packer's ESPNU radio show. He, in no manner, came across as anything other than genuinely concerned about players' futures. That's not naivete on my account. I follow the ills of recruiting closely. He's never even taken a transfer to date.

It's easy to rag on a winning coach, but Dabo's not a bad guy. Hell, just the other day someone on here described his program as church camp. There are always going to be bad apples, but of all other coaches, Dabo seems to be up there in the integrity rankings.

Soulless city?  I fail to…

Soulless city?  I fail to see how one could come to that conclusion other than sheer inexperience.  Unless you're touting to Motown Records as soul, I'm not seeing how Detroit is categorically superior to Lexington in the "soul" arena.  Not a knock on Detroit, it was the example given.

People across the state absolutely watch Kentucky football when they're relatively good, which they are right now.  It will always be second to basketball, however Mark Stoops is presiding over the most successful run in the program's history... in the SEC... near enough for many mid-western recruits' parents to attend...  Success in one sport doesn't preclude a school from achieving it in another.

We've been praying and collecting items non-stop for you all.  I was sickened to see the town when I arrived Saturday morning.  So many great people in such distress.  The sun shines bright and at some point, our Kentucky lady will weep no more.  Go Cardinals/Eagles!

I live 40 minutes from Mayfield and have been here all day. The best way to describe it is that a 300 yard wide lawnmower entered the southwest corner and exited the northeast. It seems more like a movie set than reality.

No. In a sport, in a particular situation, there is nothing to match what Nadal has done at the French. I don't like him (for no discernable reason), but on clay, with a racquet in his hand, that man is usually* unbeatable.

I went to Murray State while Steve Prohm was an assistant to Billy Kennedy and continued to follow the team very closely after graduating.  He is an outstanding coach and person.  I had classes with his would be wife Katie and talked to him on multiple occasions.  He is as close to the Beilein standard of exceptional coaching while maintaining morality as one might hope for.  As such, he's been a finalist for the Skip Prosser Award.  I'd be ecstatic if he came to Michigan.

My 4-year-old and 2-year-old have a Go Blue bumper sticker on their ride-on John Deere Gator.  They drive around saying go blue to everyone.

So is McQuaid an elite shooter or just a shooter?  Thought I saw both on the last one as well.  Could be that he's just a shooter most of the time until a point where it would be a huge punt to the peaches and then turns into an elite shooter.

Huh?

Have I ever been in a real fight?  Yeah, several before I realized how pointless it was.  I'm not exactly sure how you came to the conclusion that I would be totally ignorant to the emotional impact of a fight based on my comment.  What does your race have to do with your argument? I'm a firm believer that what comes out of the mouth comes from the heart.  As I've posted elsewhere on this thread, I think there are degrees of racism.  In Reschke's case, what he said was racist and the inclination to use the term he did doesn't just come from nowhere.  He's probably not a racist in that he attends klan meetings, but that doesn't mean he's entirely free from racist thought.

You're right I misspoke and used prejudice in place of discrimination. Thanks for helping clarify.
Spectrum I agree that there is a spectrum of racism. Clearly there's no moral justification for racism, but lumping Neo-Nazis in the same group as granny who, with no malice, refers to the family next door as colored is pretty ridiculous. People have all sorts of biases in addition to racism that have little to no bearing on their interactions with others. Racism, sexism, ethnocentricism, etc. becomes problematic when it manifests itself as prejudice. Acting upon biases is the real issue that can be addressed. I'm not sure it's possible to root out all forms of bias in every person. I do, however, think that if a person can recognize and put their biases aside in actions, they shouldn't be defined as racist.
Lost control? If he lost control of his emotions and used that word, wouldn't that mean he is racist and controls it?
LSU LSU sits smack dab in a who's who of talented high school players. Aside from the Landon Collinses of Louisiana, they'll have talented playmakers we only dreamed of during the last ten years. Yes they're in the SEC West and their record may suffer as a result, but I don't see how they can be as awful as we were. As far as Harbaugh goes, I love that he's our coach, but what exactly have we been bailed out of?
Thanks I was hoping I wasn't the only one in the dark on that.
So much sad

Why must the tag line at the top of the page continue to be true?  I hate that the call was overturned but damnit, it was the right call.  Regardless of all the bs calls we've endured recently, at least this one was right in some manner.  I can't fault Beilein for calling timeout because who wouldn't given the circumstances.  I ask however, does that call get reviewed if he doesn't call timeout?  It didn't seem like the refs were immediately going to the table after the call.  Seems like they didn't have anything to do, so why not check the call.  Fiddle Sticks!!!

Wish All I wanted for my birthday was a few Rebels and an OT. UCLA wasn't the kind I was thinking of but meh, I'll take it.
This... is only a relevant argument in football/developmental sports. Basketball is by and large won or lost by teenagers
Yeah well way to be a dick and cause me to question the sophistication of my sense of humor.
Really? I usually enjoy everyone's commentary and rarely post, but sometimes it seems necessary to point out that some people around this blog are entirely too full of themselves. The responses to the thread are every bit as egalitarian as any of the responses our members post to one of our sparty/bucknut threads. We laugh at the idea of Michigan arrogance being a thing, but damn, some of you don't see just how ridiculous you look when you bite on every tiny opportunity to condemn a population. I'm sure you're all protesting for unity though.
Thanks Regardless of your intentions in posting the thread, it's nice that someone had the wherewithal to recognize that the comments might be a better indicator of the nature of Alabama fans than the poster.
Ha! This is good
Well... Well since my opinion is exceptionally more relevant than everyone else's... 1. Tarick Black looked like everything we expected/hyped DPJ to be at WR (not saying DPJ isn't what DPJ was expected to be) 2. DPJ was Peppers elusive in returns (yeah yeah there's another thread for that) 3. Speight was Speight (he is what we thought he iswasmightbemaybecouldbeidunno) 4. The white sidelines should be in in golf and football. 5. I bet $1 the RB corp won't piss off too many people 6. Even though Perry was Inspector Gadget sticky hands, what value is he with unsportsmanlikes?
? Fat fingers or alcohol?
Wookie Kodi is the platform and there are various "builds" that offer different programming. I use the Wookie build which combines dozens of smaller builds like Covenant (used to be Exodus), Bob, Maverick, UK Turk, etc. There isn't a show or movie that I haven't been able to find. For boxing, the sports section of Bob has everything from live PPV fights (streamed Canelo Alvarez and Amir Khan last year) to any other historic fight. I'll be unjustifiably irked if it fails me tonight.
Same Do you use the Bob Sports build?
Not non-con, but...

I want to see OSU at the beginning of the year.  Given the trend of their team being younger than ours (I know we're young this year), I'd like to get them before they gain a year of experience for The Game.  I love that we play them at the end of the season and how important that matchup always ends up being, but dammit I'd like their constant turnover to bite them against our traditionally more mature team.  Did no research to see if they are normally younger than us.  Maybe is stoopid.

You'd be called... a liar. Does commentary matter that much to everyone? I can think of a word of commentary that ever meant as much as da pictoors ahn da skrean
Supervising

I get to spend my time during the eclipse helping supervise hundreds of high school students. We're in one of the best viewing areas in the country (western Kentucky) and decided to make it a learning event instead of taking the day off like most everyone else in the region.  While I think that's kind of cool, I'd much rather be grilling out at the lake than hoping my kids don't do anything too stupid.

Vic Aren't your doubts unreasonable, sir?
Thanks Thanks for posting this in my place. May you receive all that this deserves. I mean that in a good way.
Dafuq? Not sure if brownviper is a douche, a douche ignorant of who you are and trying to be helpful, a douche intentionally grinding an axe, a rival fan douche, a Bolivian immigrant douche trying to get a free ride home, or the ultimate tyrannosaurus douche. Possibly a combination of all of those...
15-0 talent? We play OSU in the regular season. We don't have a talent advantage in that game. If we win The Game/ B1G and make the playoff, we're looking at teams like Alabama, OSU again, USC, Florida State, or someone who was good enough to beat them. I don't see a talent advantage there either. We have great talent, but 15-0 talent, to me, means we have more than anyone. Just not there yet IMO. Usually the response to a post like this is simply "Harbaugh!" Yeah, Harbaugh is awesome and will get the best out of our guys, but let's not pretend like Saban, Meyer, Jimbo, etc. are incompetent. If you meant sufficient talent to go 15-0, I agree. I'd argue, though, that the odds aren't exactly forever in our favor.
I hope I hope he's as good as Pulisic!
