There was a lot of discussion on Twitter that the MMA guy might be in legal trouble because a) he's a professional and falls under the "hands as lethal weapon" category and/or b) technically he strikes the first blow and the continued pummeling constitutes battery after the guy is already down.

Tough to say because we lack all the context. The MMA guy does appear to be touching his eye at first, indicating he had already been struck. Then he kind of smiles at his brother and seems to ask him which one he wants (the guy he ultimately smacks is not the guy who pushes him).

Most responsible dojos train their students to always walk away from a conflict that you can get out of, and these guys being pros means they should probably at least let the idiots know who they are about to take on. That being said the football players were being douchey fake tough guys, calling the guy "bitch" and thinking they were going to intimidate him. To see these much smaller guys beat the crap out of them is kind of funny. That's a lesson they'll never forget.

there is no way in heaven the 2 MMA guys are going to get charged, much less convicted.  not the aggressors, physically outmatched (talking size only), already bleeding, and getting called out.  you are allowed to use reasonable self defense and that includes force if you reasonably believe you are going to suffer an assault and/or battery by another person.

now if he got the guy down, knocked out, and started kicking him or some such thing that'd be a problem.

this is a perfect 'no call'.  the ref waves it off, and play continues....

That second guy that got slammed was head/shoulder first in the corner of the wall/ground.  The guy that slammed him appeared to be defending himself as he was being put in a choke by a larger guy.  But, that looked like a cement wall and hard floor.  I think there's a decent chance he has a head/neck injury and a possibility for quite a serious one and he was being followed up with head strikes while on the ground after the slam.  I'm not judging the scene because you don't know what happened prior, but I think there's a decent chance he was knocked out and then received quite a few undefended punches to the face afterwards.  I could see how one could view that excessive after the other guy was already subdued.

Not sure the guys are professional fighters they are just trained in MMA and this goes to show don’t start fights ever because you never know what you might be getting into.
the guys seemed to be backed into a corner and the other two were obviously looking for trouble   Now obviously I don’t know everything that happened leading up to this but they all seemed to be pretty willing combatants.  But you see this all the time guys get into a fight get their ass kicked and then try to file charges

The crap trying to say he was playing peacemaker is bullshit.

He may not have been the primary aggressor but he shoved the guy, got in his face (relatively speaking), and was attempting to intimidate him with his size while yelling at him to leave a place the guy was perfectly in his rights to be in (the bathroom).

What a pile of soft bullshit.

This was an embarrassment of epic proportions. He, and his (even bigger) friend, got whooped by guys half their size AND they did so while rolling around on the bathroom floor of a college bar AND every second was caught on camera for the world to see.

This clips been out for several days so a few things have been noted:

1: Allegedly the altercation started out in the bar when the MMA guy spoke to the football player's GF which is why he already has a bloody nose.  Apparently the three of them have a past.

2. The two MMA fighters are brothers.

3. The BEST part of the video (other than the meat head getting his ass handed to him) is the dude at the urinal.  Watch him calmly step over the fracas on the ground, hold his beer, and not spill a drop.
