Was anyone else screaming for Michigan to call a timeout on Maryland's last TD?  How fucking stupid do you have to be to see the team getting tempo'ed again and let them give up another TD?

All game long, the defense failed repeatedly to get stops on third and 4th and long.  Very disappointing.  As was the offensive flow, which at times looked good but more frequently looked random.  Lots to work on this week.

I'll say it: Maryland played a hell of a game today, and we got lucky to escape. Every season includes a few games like that, so I'm not particularly worried, but kudos to the Terps. They looked legit to me.

During both last season and this one, Michigan seems unwilling to use a timeout when the defense clearly isn’t set against tempo.  I get that timeouts are a scarce resource, but they gave up two fourth down conversions when they weren’t full set and had 2 or 3 timeouts.

There is an absurd amount to learn from this game. Absolutely absurd.

mad far as the crap goes…75%+ is correctable. There is a an unknown 10-24% that may not be correctable for this year.

Use adversity to get better. You guys remember how last year started against Rutgers?

Gross win but a win. I think every concern I had played out in some way today. Some of it is probably Maryland being better than we anticipated and Michigan having serious deficiencies and problems.

The big question is JJ. I knew he'd struggle some this season but today had some really awful moments. I'm guessing that is what the staff notices in practice more than insisting that any one guy have the job. They probably see a supremely gifted kid that struggles to see the full picture and that causes him to make a lot of mistakes. He does everything Cade does and more so it should be his job but some of that more is not exactly pretty or smart.

The defense is as expected in that they lack star power. They're just a bit below what they were last year at every position so the offensive issues need to be fixed or some losses are probably coming.

Special teams was good and the rare time that the opposing team may have had a better kicker than Michigan in the Moody era. Dude was bangin' those bastards!

Man, did that opening kickoff turn out to be HUGE. This game was one play away from being an OT affair.....Turner's non-reviewed interception, the Maryland interception in the end zone, any of 2-3 crucial long gains/TDs by Corum, any other of a dozen or so not quite as crucial but drive sustaining/stopping plays on offense and defense.

Clearly Maryland is not THAT Maryland this year, they have made a big leap in terms of overall team quality, no question there.

As I said earlier, everywhere someone indicated * previously in the season as a caveat for the level of competition we played, they were more correct than they knew. More like ***

McCarthy is still the better option, but not without his drawbacks that were evident today.

Lots of things for M to work on, hopefully they have some useful film from this game moving forward and and can shore up some of the weaknesses that were exposed today.

checked in just to say UM didn't wow anyone, but it was probably good for this team to work through some struggles.

HOWEVER

Zero complaints when compared to MSU down 0-24 at HOME to the Gophers. lol chumps
