This will be your thread for hot takes and snowflakes on the overall coaching performance.

Frankly I only disagree with final record but only by a game. This team is a 15-25 rank level team and OSU, PSU and Wisconsin are better. Too many mistakes every single game. Penalties aren’t just happening today, it’s a theme, so is starting slow and giving up huge plays on long third downs, oh and let’s not forget struggling vs running QBs. Improved over last couple years on offense yes but that’s not enough.

I don't know about that . They are misfiring a bit but one can see the vast potential.  Let's see if they step it up and focus for the big games.  I think they will...

Alot has been said about the offense...  but it's the defense if fixed (not getting crushed first qtr ), that will propel us. Our secondary really struggles early, then settles down... but MSU will exploit the piss out of this, and draw a ton of PI.  I wish Brown and Zordich knew it was coming but MSU always seems to surprise them.

And I'd like to see Uche start at DE and move Gary inside..and run alot of stunts.

I don't know. When we played SMU, a couple of those PI flags were ridiculous, but I thought our CBs were interfering a lot yesterday. I didn't have a problem with any of the calls.

I'm not sure what's happened to Hill but he is not anywhere near the player he was last year. It could be the Mo Hurst effect, or maybe he's just in a slump, but I believe that is a big reason the defense has not done quite as well as we had hoped. I'm wondering if they need to get Ambry in there a bit more to see if he can play any better. He's definitely a better athlete.

Don't know why you're getting all these negs everything you say seems accurate based on what we've seen vs ND & NW.  Michigan is not at the same level is OSU, PSU & Wisky...and MSU gets their players ready for a game...we seem to be missing the "motivation" part of coaching at least during the first quarter.

We get Wisconsin and Penn State at home.

We lost to a 5-0 Notre Dame team that just crushed Stanford.  Wisconsin lost to BYU and PSU needed a last second comeback to beat App State in OT.

It isn't unrealistic to think we can pick one of those two off at home and it isn't impossible that we pick off both.

MSU is on the road and they have had our number, but they certainly aren't a better team.  There is no way we only beat CMU by 11 at home had they been our opponent yesterday.

I've said 8-4 since this summer.

I wouldn't change my opinion one way or another based on this game. Remember that NW had a bye week last week, and they obviously used it to cook up some Don Brown killers. But then they ran out of those and were dead on the turf.

Also, this game is a perfect example of how important the intangibles are. Brian makes fun of intangibles because he doesn't know how to quantify them. But just because you don't know how to measure something doesn't mean it isn't important. And we clearly began this game in a poor mental state - overconfident, unfocused, listless, especially on the offense - and it hurt us.

Before the season, this was a game that could easily present difficulties. NW won 10 games last year. But people got overconfident based on Nebraska and NW's somewhat deceptive schedule (Duke ain't bad, despite tonight's result). Before the season, you tell me we come from 17 down at NW to win, and I'd say that's a good win.

But still, yeah. PSU and OSU look like they're playing a different sport out there right now. Two Ls staring at us there. Wisconsin is a toss up; they're in our league at least and we have them at home. The pharmaceutically enhanced biomorphs in East Lansing are a whole different beast, but more likely an L than a W in my opinion.

And I hate to say it but Maryland beat Texas in Texas, crushed Minnesota in Minnesota, and has a bye week this week. They aren't going to be Nebraska.

ESPN has Maryland at home for Minnesota - the Terps had two ridiculously long runs for TDs and benefited from 3 turnovers.  I do believe the Terps are for real but S&P+ has them as the same as Northwestern, tough but manageable.

Lol we have fallen so far that NW on the road (half full of Michigan fans) is a “big” win.

The only thing impressive is that this was a comeback down from 17.

MSU and OSU will have field days against us on the road. The defense doesn’t show up until the second half and the offense just sputters in short yardage.

I didn't say anything, except that you post dumb shit nonstop. What is dumb "af" is assuming that you know how all "you guys" think. So carry on with the multiple account bullshit, keep posting stupid RABBLE RABBLE shit. I'll sit here being reasonable, and if and when the team shows something that actually warrants ANGAR RABBLE posts, I will chime in. Until then, I will stfu, and observe.

It’s the same for this poster really. This poster is not interested in discussion or discourse, only lectures and insults. Mr. Yost has picked hills to die upon before, so these condescending lectures and claims about inferior intellect are just Mr. Yost climbing back up on another hill to die on.

Sadly, this poster has a lot to share but has devolved into something not quite that.
