This is not a big ten champion caliber team. Michigan is probably going to be 7-5 this year. Still too undisciplined on both sides of the ball.
September 29th, 2018 at 8:15 PM ^
Why are you the way that you are?
September 29th, 2018 at 8:31 PM ^
Yet I have only one upvote to give.
September 29th, 2018 at 8:40 PM ^
Frankly I only disagree with final record but only by a game. This team is a 15-25 rank level team and OSU, PSU and Wisconsin are better. Too many mistakes every single game. Penalties aren’t just happening today, it’s a theme, so is starting slow and giving up huge plays on long third downs, oh and let’s not forget struggling vs running QBs. Improved over last couple years on offense yes but that’s not enough.
September 30th, 2018 at 11:27 AM ^
I don't know about that . They are misfiring a bit but one can see the vast potential. Let's see if they step it up and focus for the big games. I think they will...
Alot has been said about the offense... but it's the defense if fixed (not getting crushed first qtr ), that will propel us. Our secondary really struggles early, then settles down... but MSU will exploit the piss out of this, and draw a ton of PI. I wish Brown and Zordich knew it was coming but MSU always seems to surprise them.
And I'd like to see Uche start at DE and move Gary inside..and run alot of stunts.
September 30th, 2018 at 2:56 PM ^
I love your DLine idea. Gary would shit it down while Uche fired it up from the outside.
September 29th, 2018 at 8:49 PM ^
Because Penn State, MSU, Wisconsin, and Ohio state are better.
September 29th, 2018 at 9:04 PM ^
Are we worse than BYU (which beat Wisconsin) and Arizona State (which beat MSU)?
September 29th, 2018 at 9:17 PM ^
That doesn’t work in individual game outcomes. You should be better. Or learn to be better
September 29th, 2018 at 9:40 PM ^
Individual game outcomes.. Clemson holds on to beat Syracuse by 4... Michigan beats northwestern by 3...
September 29th, 2018 at 9:53 PM ^
Shhhh... people only see it one way. Don't interrupt his narrative
September 30th, 2018 at 2:03 AM ^
Yeah, and all the same narrative said we were going to whip Iowa in 2016...
September 30th, 2018 at 8:25 AM ^
And Iowa in 2016 has everything to do with this team in 2018. I mean it’s not like we have 22 different starters from that 2016 team. There is no way this team could be any different. For those of you who need his, here it is /s
September 29th, 2018 at 10:59 PM ^
Clemson was down to their 3rd string QB after Bryant transferred and Lawrence got concussed.
If Patterson and McCaffery went out do we win today? My opinion is no...
September 30th, 2018 at 12:16 AM ^
Also, Dabo has a natty in the last few years and has made the last how many playoffs?? That man has earned the benefit of the doubt. Stop trying to compare apples to oranges.
September 30th, 2018 at 12:36 AM ^
Michigan probably also doesn't win if their QB is an 8 year old girl on angel dust.
September 30th, 2018 at 10:40 AM ^
Fascinating—the last time I did angel dust I thought I was an 8yo girl playing college quarterback.
September 30th, 2018 at 9:16 AM ^
syracuse would destroy NW, and probably beat Michigan
September 30th, 2018 at 10:05 AM ^
Is this the same Syracuse that beat Western Michigan 55-42 at home?
September 30th, 2018 at 4:27 PM ^
No way we can take you seriously after that.
September 29th, 2018 at 9:30 PM ^
You can definitely make an argument for PSU, OSU, and Wisconsin, but you lost me at MSU. This year, they are very very average. Outside of their front seven, they are butt
September 29th, 2018 at 10:10 PM ^
What an insightful contribution. Indeed, your argument for MSU being better than UM was especially persuasive; it certainly does not reveal, within you, an unattractive dogmatism.
September 29th, 2018 at 11:15 PM ^
MSU isn't better . But they'll beat us unless Brown studies them and learns that Dantonio is gonna have Lewerke run alot.
September 30th, 2018 at 9:06 AM ^
Blueprint for beating us hasn’t changed and everyone knows what it is.
running QB
throw slants
throw the deep ball
on defense bring the blitz
September 30th, 2018 at 10:02 AM ^
So:
-complete short passes
-complete long passes
-avoid sacks
-and consistently hurry/pressure opponents QB
That’s just the stat sheet of pretty much whatever team ends up winning.
September 30th, 2018 at 4:41 AM ^
Remind me...which teams have Wisconsin, PSU, and MSU lost to or struggled to beat?
If you were a Wisconsin fan, you would certainly be predicting them to lose at Michigan.
Negative Nancy.
September 29th, 2018 at 8:22 PM ^
Michigan is totally fucked. We are being targeted by the league. We were penalized on almost every game changing play and Fox was like "I don't see that call and wow Michigan is being totally screwed" ...
September 29th, 2018 at 9:14 PM ^
I think this is a homer take. I only heard the announcers comment about that with the phantom holding call on Higdon...which came right after Long got away with a defensive hold.
September 29th, 2018 at 9:59 PM ^
I'm wondering if our aggressive, sometimes reckless style of D has conditioned refs to just throw flags against any winged helmet they see. That and the Harbaugh zero-tolerance rule the league established in year one.
September 30th, 2018 at 9:08 AM ^
I do think Don Brown's defense has a reputation now and we are getting flagged for the exact same physicality that Narduzzi got away with in East Lansing for yeeeears
September 30th, 2018 at 9:40 AM ^
I don't know. When we played SMU, a couple of those PI flags were ridiculous, but I thought our CBs were interfering a lot yesterday. I didn't have a problem with any of the calls.
I'm not sure what's happened to Hill but he is not anywhere near the player he was last year. It could be the Mo Hurst effect, or maybe he's just in a slump, but I believe that is a big reason the defense has not done quite as well as we had hoped. I'm wondering if they need to get Ambry in there a bit more to see if he can play any better. He's definitely a better athlete.
September 30th, 2018 at 8:17 AM ^
Pretty sure they also commented on the JKP block in the back call, saying it was wrong, but seeing how the refs could miss that one.
September 29th, 2018 at 10:28 PM ^
Finally a smart Michigan fan...….
September 29th, 2018 at 8:51 PM ^
He’s not wrong
September 29th, 2018 at 8:57 PM ^
Don't know why you're getting all these negs everything you say seems accurate based on what we've seen vs ND & NW. Michigan is not at the same level is OSU, PSU & Wisky...and MSU gets their players ready for a game...we seem to be missing the "motivation" part of coaching at least during the first quarter.
September 29th, 2018 at 10:55 PM ^
PSU and OSU maybe... Not sure about wisconsin
September 30th, 2018 at 8:44 AM ^
We get Wisconsin and Penn State at home.
We lost to a 5-0 Notre Dame team that just crushed Stanford. Wisconsin lost to BYU and PSU needed a last second comeback to beat App State in OT.
It isn't unrealistic to think we can pick one of those two off at home and it isn't impossible that we pick off both.
MSU is on the road and they have had our number, but they certainly aren't a better team. There is no way we only beat CMU by 11 at home had they been our opponent yesterday.
September 29th, 2018 at 9:31 PM ^
I've said 8-4 since this summer.
I wouldn't change my opinion one way or another based on this game. Remember that NW had a bye week last week, and they obviously used it to cook up some Don Brown killers. But then they ran out of those and were dead on the turf.
Also, this game is a perfect example of how important the intangibles are. Brian makes fun of intangibles because he doesn't know how to quantify them. But just because you don't know how to measure something doesn't mean it isn't important. And we clearly began this game in a poor mental state - overconfident, unfocused, listless, especially on the offense - and it hurt us.
Before the season, this was a game that could easily present difficulties. NW won 10 games last year. But people got overconfident based on Nebraska and NW's somewhat deceptive schedule (Duke ain't bad, despite tonight's result). Before the season, you tell me we come from 17 down at NW to win, and I'd say that's a good win.
But still, yeah. PSU and OSU look like they're playing a different sport out there right now. Two Ls staring at us there. Wisconsin is a toss up; they're in our league at least and we have them at home. The pharmaceutically enhanced biomorphs in East Lansing are a whole different beast, but more likely an L than a W in my opinion.
And I hate to say it but Maryland beat Texas in Texas, crushed Minnesota in Minnesota, and has a bye week this week. They aren't going to be Nebraska.
September 30th, 2018 at 1:13 PM ^
ESPN has Maryland at home for Minnesota - the Terps had two ridiculously long runs for TDs and benefited from 3 turnovers. I do believe the Terps are for real but S&P+ has them as the same as Northwestern, tough but manageable.
September 29th, 2018 at 8:10 PM ^
Fuck off Harbaugh and Brown haters. Fuck right the hell off.
September 29th, 2018 at 8:24 PM ^
Lol we have fallen so far that NW on the road (half full of Michigan fans) is a “big” win.
The only thing impressive is that this was a comeback down from 17.
MSU and OSU will have field days against us on the road. The defense doesn’t show up until the second half and the offense just sputters in short yardage.
September 29th, 2018 at 8:36 PM ^
Have you seen MSU this year?
Oh and by the way, you suck
September 29th, 2018 at 8:49 PM ^
Yawn.
Msu shows up for Michigan. Idc how bad they look against other teams
September 30th, 2018 at 11:58 AM ^
Just stop being such a terrible poster, man. You really suck.
September 30th, 2018 at 12:29 PM ^
What did I say that wasn't true?
You guys are still under the delusion that MSU will wilt against Michigan after all these years?
Jesus ya'll are dumb af.
It's hilarious how mad you get when people try to be realistic.
September 30th, 2018 at 12:51 PM ^
I didn't say anything, except that you post dumb shit nonstop. What is dumb "af" is assuming that you know how all "you guys" think. So carry on with the multiple account bullshit, keep posting stupid RABBLE RABBLE shit. I'll sit here being reasonable, and if and when the team shows something that actually warrants ANGAR RABBLE posts, I will chime in. Until then, I will stfu, and observe.
September 30th, 2018 at 6:43 PM ^
It’s the same for this poster really. This poster is not interested in discussion or discourse, only lectures and insults. Mr. Yost has picked hills to die upon before, so these condescending lectures and claims about inferior intellect are just Mr. Yost climbing back up on another hill to die on.
Sadly, this poster has a lot to share but has devolved into something not quite that.
September 29th, 2018 at 8:54 PM ^
D came up big second half, troll. D wins championships.
September 29th, 2018 at 9:53 PM ^
Except last year...when it was better and got us to 8-5
September 30th, 2018 at 12:20 AM ^
Except for when it doesn’t and the team goes 8-5. But other than that, yeah man, totally. You nailed it! ;)
