Miles Bridges (paraphrased): "It's tough losing to a school that isn't tough"
Michigan State's Miles Bridges on losing to Michigan: "We just gotta get tougher. It's pretty simple. Teams are out-toughing us. ...That's tough, especially to a school like that, that don't even focus on [being tough]."

We also don't focus on crying to the refs for foul calls.

Ah, the old misconception that if you don't play Izzo bully ball that you're not tough

UM got after it today. several guys diving for loose balls. even DRob made a couple hustle plays; the first of his career. he even got 3 rebounds in limited action. as many have said for several weeks, he is likely a much better player off the bench. he can play harder on D and not worry about fouls.

A "soft, flaccid pussy"? I gotta say, I have seen more than my fair share of vaginas, but never one that was "hard and erect"???

If you're ever in Atlantic City, go to the Tropicana, slip the concierge a C-note, and tell him what you just told us.
You'll thank me.

The one thing missing from today was the MSU floor slap followed by immediate layup.

Guess you've got a lot of toughening to do if you can't beat the school who "doesn't even focus on it."
January 13th, 2018 at 3:35 PM ^
That's not toughness, it's being bad at basketball.
January 13th, 2018 at 3:49 PM ^
it's facts like those that the eye test slappies don't see. they love the bridges, jackson of even shilling dunks, but msu got schooled big time on both ends of the court today with "pretty" well-coached basketball. very fun to watch.
had a few more of those running layups fell, the game would have been over much earlier.

this is exactly why coaching acumen can't be judged game to game. If M had lost, it'd be because MSU is tougher than us and we need to have less pussies around. Whoever wins has the better philosophy until the next game.

He won't even be the first Sparty drafted if Jackson comes out.

You think coming back for his sophomore year has hurt Bridges at all? Probably not but in a weak BIG this year they are not doing as well as predicted.
January 13th, 2018 at 3:52 PM ^
short of a final four, this decision will be a failure. i see zero improvement in his game this year. no improvement is a bad indicator for nba scouts. iirc, he was projected as a 10-12 pick this past year. i bet he drops some in the next draft.
January 13th, 2018 at 3:57 PM ^
I do. He has not at all improved his stock. Also gets overshadowed by Jackson (as he should).

January 13th, 2018 at 3:49 PM ^
Never takes over a game and controls the game. NBA loves his size and has the "NBA ready body." Dude is mediocre mid range and plays soft as shit. Again, when has he just taken over a game if he is so damn good? I think Jackson is the better player to draft right now and I hope he is a one and done.
January 13th, 2018 at 4:02 PM ^
Jackson is scary good. 19 points and 6 (!) blocked shots in limited time due to foul trouble. By far the better prospect. I hope the NBA is drooling over the guy.

Otheerwise known as the Philippine Basketball League which, btw, has a very entertaining (and physical) style of play.
I think I saw some guys playing with numchucks in a few of the games.

He is really good with a well-rounded skillset -- and probably smart enough to know there is nothing to be gained playing in that abortion of an offense for a second year.
He'll be a great NBA player.

To me the best part about this quote is that it clearly shown Izzo th9inks he can coach "toughness"
I'll take an Xs and Os coach any day of the week

i think you can coach toughness/hustle. but i would rather JB spend more time at passing, shooting and defending; which i'm sure he does to good effect.
